Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 483: Chapter 2: A Family of Three

Upon closer inspection, they were even more shocked: ”Two goats?”

Indeed, Jiang Hu and Zhang Yuan each were carrying a goat on their shoulders!

”Wait, Seven Joys has another one!”

Indeed, Seven Joys, who was holding the torch in front, was cradling something in his arms too, a very, very small goat!

Perhaps they were too shocked, so even the small catches Xiaomi and Xiaocao held in their hands were completely ignored by everyone.

Amid everyone’s surprised expressions, Jiang Hu and Zhang Yuan each carried a goat with its legs bound and, sweating profusely, arrived home. When they put them down, the two goats struggled for a moment.

”How come they’re still alive?” someone questioned.

”Yes, they’re alive, both goats got shot in the legs, and there’s even a mother goat.”

Jiang Hu pointed to the one he brought back: ”This is the one, the little goat must have just been born, it’s very small.”

Indeed, the little lamb cradled by Seven Joys, once put on the ground, bleated and stumbled over to the mother goat’s belly to suckle.

Zhang Yuan put down the goat on his shoulder and took the prey Xiaocao was holding, placing it beside them.

”Brother Jiang, you guys carry on, I’ll head back now.”

Zhang Yuan was quite envious of those goats, but since his daughter mentioned that the two goats were caught by Xiaomi herself, he had no other thoughts.

Besides, his daughter just learned how to hunt, and even though today her take wasn’t as abundant as Xiaomi’s, she did catch a plump rabbit, which they had already taken back when coming down the mountain.

Thinking of going back to eat his wife’s braised rabbit, Zhang Yuan was quite happy.

His daughter might not be as skillful as Xiaomi, but he was already very satisfied, considering not everyone can catch prey.

Especially after the recent busy farming season, having a good meal of meat can not only replenish well but also usher in the upcoming harvest.

”Uncle Zhang, Xiaocao, take this back to make soup. The wild chicken has a stronger flavor than domestic chicken, but it makes decent soup too.”

Xiaomi casually handed them a wild chicken. It was smaller than a rabbit, and when startled, it flew quickly, making it a bit hard for Xiaocao to capture.

”Ah, this...” Zhang Yuan was tempted but hesitant.

”Since Xiaomi gave it to you, just accept it, and let your wife and children nourish themselves.”

With Jiang Hu’s words, Zhang Yuan didn’t hesitate: ”Alright then, thank you, Xiaomi.”

Xiaocao also thanked Xiaomi, and Seven Joys handed the torch to Zhang Yuan. The father and son headed back first.

Meanwhile, everyone else’s eyes were already on the three goats, two large and one small.

No need to discuss the mother and child pair, the other one was clearly a ram, with both goats having injured knees, which might have caused them to bleed again due to their previous struggle.

”I brought the hemostatic medicine.” Wei Ziang suddenly ran out of the house, carrying a packet of medicine.

”Is Xiaomi planning to raise these goats, which is why she only shot their knees?”

Wei Ziang said, already approaching the two goats, which were restrained, so even with struggling, their movement was limited.

”Exactly, little brother, there’s a ram and a ewe. Once they recover, we could raise them, and perhaps after a couple of years, we’ll have many goats!”

Raising a herd of cows isn’t easy, but a herd of goats can be more manageable.

With Jiang Hu and Seven Joys helping to restrain the struggling goats, Wei Ziang started applying the medicine, while Xiaomi excitedly recounted the process of catching the goats.

They ran a bit further today, crossing three mountains, and ended up by a riverbank, where a herd of goats just happened to be grazing.

Although they hadn’t seen such an event in person before, Xiaomi had seen it on TV and in books!

The goats had short, glossy brown-yellow fur, with facial hair in a black and yellow pattern. There were light symmetrically striped markings on either side of their nose.

The ram had coarse, long black and yellow fur on its neck and front, with a black line running along its back from its head’s back.

Its head was medium-sized with a slightly arched nose, some with horns and some without; its body slightly barrel-shaped, with an adequately long neck, deep and wide front chest, arched ribs, a flat back and waist, and sturdy limbs.

They were fine specimen of wild mountain goats!

And there was a whole herd!

Seeing this, Xiaomi had the idea to raise some goats. She picked a spot and aimed at two goat’s knees that she had her eyes on!

Sure enough, the goats shot in the knees were unable to run. Unexpectedly, the rest of the herd ran off in panic, but a lamb just bleated anxiously, refusing to leave.

Because of the lamb’s bleating, a ram that had initially run off came back, seizing the chance, Xiaomi decisively kept the ram as well.

Here’s a reasonable guess, they must be a family!

Xiaomi used the bow and arrows given to her by Yingying, forged from fine iron. With her growing strength, she shot right through the knee bone!

The two goats hit in the knees couldn’t even stand, let alone run.

Wei Ziang applied the hemostatic medicine, wrapping up the goats’ knees, but it might not be easy for them to stand up.

After Xiaomi excitedly finished her story, Wei Ziang had also finished bandaging the goats, Second Wife brought out a basin of water, putting it directly to their mouths.

”Let’s first move them to the pen by the stable; Xiaomi previously kept a large bird there, but now it’s kept outside, so that pen’s empty.”

”Yes, yes, let’s move them over first, and then eat while we chat.”

With that, Jiang Hu and Seven Joys moved the two goats to the stable, while Xiaomi called out to her brother, taking the lamb in her arms herself.

Her clothes were already dirty, so she didn’t want to mess up her brother’s as well.
