Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 455: Chapter 284: The Arrangement

When Yingying heard the commotion and ran over, she saw Xiaomi make a flying leap and thrust a dagger into the wild boar’s neck.

Meanwhile, on the other side, there was already a bloody hole, left by Wei Ziang.

After Wei Ziang’s strike, the wild boar’s movements slowed down, allowing Xiaomi to seize the opportunity to strike again, and after retreating, she couldn’t help but grimace.

”My goodness, this boar’s skin is too thick!” she exclaimed, having used her internal spiritual power to finally pierce through.

The two were so fast that the guards hadn’t even reacted yet.

Although the wild boar wasn’t big, and its tusks had only just begun to grow, its destructive power wasn’t very strong.

But to be taken down by two kids around seven or eight years old like this, isn’t it too shameful?

Yingying was also stunned, her mouth agape as she watched the boar, which weighed at least a hundred pounds, spin in place a few times before falling and convulsing.

”You, you two are amazing!” she said.

Looking around the scene, the grass and brambles had been trampled by the boar, the ground was splattered with blood, Xiaomi and Wei Ziang had blood on them too, but not much.

Even now, the boar’s blood was still flowing, seeping into the grass.

Xiaomi felt a pang of regret: ”It’s a shame about all this pig’s blood, steamed pig’s blood is so delicious.”

Her mother made steamed pig’s blood that was fresh and fragrant, without any gamey taste.

What a pity, because she and Wei Ziang both stabbed the neck, it’s just like when killing a pig, all the blood was let out.

Yingying was still in shock when a guard captain stepped forward.

”Miss Xiaomi, Master Ziang, should I have someone take this wild boar back for processing? It’s too hot, if we don’t process and chill it soon, it might spoil.”

Xiaomi nodded repeatedly: ”Yes, yes, thank you for your help.”

The captain said it was no trouble, then waved over someone to come and carry the wild boar away.

Yingying was still expressing shock and admiration, eagerly following Xiaomi, asking her how she managed with the wild boar.

Wei Ziang greeted them before walking away to find a quiet place to continue hunting, while Xiaomi excitedly recounted the events to Yingying.

After hearing it all, Yingying was even more thrilled, declaring she would definitely catch some prey today!

Perhaps because the wild boar set the tone, the trio’s hunting results were quite good afterward, even Yingying caught two rabbits.

The biggest regret was that Wei Ziang had spotted a fox, but due to a careless noise, it ran away.

The trio stayed in the forest until almost the hour of Shen, only then reluctantly returning.

Along the way, they snacked on venison jerky and the buns and water brought by the guards who sent the spoils back.

Had they not returned soon, they might not have been able to enter the city later; Yingying likely wanted to stay here for a couple more days.

At this point, besides the wild boar, there were also over a dozen wild rabbits and chickens, plus two porcupines!

Yingying had never caught so much prey before, and the guards hadn’t made a move the entire time, merely accompanying them s to ensure their safety and prevent potential dangers.

”That’s fantastic, Xiaomi, when your brother goes for the exam, should we come hunting again? Next time I’ll bring more people, we can stay around here for a few days, okay?”

Yingying was utterly ecstatic, as Xiaomi had promised her one porcupine, two wild chickens, and half a slab of wild boar meat!

She had only hunted two rabbits, the rest were caught by Xiaomi and Wei Ziang, how amazing!

”Sure, since our brothers are taking the exams, we can’t really help with anything anyway.”

In recent days, brother and Liu Ze have improved their cooking skills tremendously, so we can bring more copper coins, buy some ice and water during the exam, and get through the nine days with no problem!

With no pressure on them this time, Xiaomi was incredibly carefree.

It’s like taking a vacation; returning the day before the exam ends is not too late.

Yingying added: ”Oh right, your weaponry isn’t strong enough; when I go home, I’ll find someone to make you each a new bow, so next time you meet a wild boar, you’ll be able to pierce right through its skin!”

Xiaomi quickly shook her head: ”That’s not a good idea, these bows aren’t cheap, and they shouldn’t be made without careful thought.”

Weapons with destructive power should not be created privately; they must be reported to the authorities, otherwise, if discovered, it’s a serious crime of possessing unauthorized weapons!

At minimum, they confiscate your family assets, at worst, it’s treason with a death penalty!

Even Xiao Cao’s bow had been reported to the authorities.

It’s not just weapons; even household hoes, kitchen knives, and sickles have regulations.

That’s why when Yingying offered them bows, Xiaomi directly refused; mishandling such items could bring disaster upon her family.

”Don’t worry, since I dare to give them to you, I’ll be sure to arrange everything properly. Just trust me.”

Yingying patted her chest confidently.

Since she said so, Xiaomi thought about it and accepted: ”Thank you, Sister Yingying.”

”No need to thank me; next time, continue to teach me, okay?”

During today’s hunt, although she only caught two rabbits, Xiaomi taught her many important hunting tips.

But those things are just mental notes for now; practice is needed to truly grasp them.

Her father had also found her excellent teachers, who shared many techniques, but something seemed missing.

It wasn’t until today that she realized, what Xiaomi said, and what her teacher said, was about the same, but with a slight difference.

According to Xiaomi’s explanation, that difference is akin to how men and women differ.

Men have great strength and burst power; girls have better endurance but less burst power, so what the teacher taught her was easy to learn, but mastery always felt incomplete in some sense.

But thinking about it, it makes sense, historically, few girls are interested in hunting and fighting, so teaching experience may be lacking.

But now it’s different; things she hadn’t considered were pointed out by Xiaomi. Once home, she’ll tell her teacher and try again; Yingying believes next time she’ll catch even more prey!

When everyone excitedly returned to the villa, the servants had already heated the water, and after they quickly washed up, Second Aunt called them to eat.

”I took the liberty of cooking some of your catch; this is beggar’s chicken, this is braised rabbit, this is stewed wild boar. Come try them, after we finish eating, we can head back.”

”Wow, it smells delicious.” Yingying took a deep breath: ”I’ve eaten these at home, but they don’t taste the same as Aunt’s cooking.”

Looking at the dishes on the table: ”Aunt’s cooking is more appetizing!”

”Miss Ying Ying’s words are too kind, I just made these casually; as long as you don’t mind, hurry and eat. You ran around the mountains all day; you must be hungry.”

Ying Ying eagerly picked up a piece of wild boar meat: ”It’s so good, even better than my family’s chef. Aunt, since Xiaomi and I are good friends now, just call me Ying Ying.”

Then quickly picked up another piece, with large chunks of meat, without the finesse of home cooking, but eating it was incredibly satisfying!

”Alright, Ying Ying.” Second Aunt nodded with a smile, pouring a cup of water for each of the three young hunters: ”Eat up, after dinner, we can chat on the way back.”
