Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 473: Chapter 296: Xie Fuya

There are now more and more people eating at home, and today, we directly divided into two tables for lunch, one for the women and one for the men.

After all, Xie Fuya is Liu Qingfeng’s wife, and she’s young and beautiful, only sixteen or seventeen years old. Even though she’s about to become a mother, she still retains a youthful appearance.

Old Liu is an elderly senior, so it’s understandable for him to join the meal. But Jiang Hu is not even thirty, and when he goes out, no one believes he already has four kids. He still looks like a young, strong lad.

Furthermore, Jiang Yu and Liu Ze aren’t that young anymore, so certain things should indeed be avoided.

However, although we set up two tables, everyone was still in the dining hall. It wasn’t that strict; rural folks aren’t that harsh about such things.

Apart from the vegetables Wei Ziang prepared, there was also a bowl of fishball soup, a plate of braised rabbit, a dish of steamed egg custard, and tofu fish soup made with fish head, bones, and tail.

The second aunt first served Xie Fuya a bowl of fishball soup: ”This fish was farmed at home. Try it, there’s no fishy taste at all.”

”Thank you, auntie.” Fu Ya accepted it with both hands, her face beaming with a smile.

She felt it at noon; there weren’t too many rules in this family, and everyone got along comfortably.

”Why thank me? These fishballs were made by your Han Yan, but her skills really are good. Even if the ingredients are the same, what she makes just tastes better than ours.”

As the second aunt spoke, she also served half a bowl each to Xiaomi and Xiaoxue.

Aunt Yang, Qixi, and Han Yan and Mengtiao took their food outside to eat, leaving just the four women here at their own table.

Originally Han Yan and Mengtiao wanted to stay and serve, but Xie Fuya felt others might be uncomfortable, so she let them go outside. After all, there were so many people here, nothing would go wrong.

Xiaomi took a bite of the fishball, her eyes lighting up immediately: ”So fragrant and fresh! It’s bouncy, feels crisp and chewy.”

Xiaoxue didn’t say much but nodded along: ”Delicious.”

And delicious they were, even though Fu Ya was used to eating Han Yan’s cooking, she couldn’t resist eating two more in a row.

”Your family’s ingredients are indeed good. We’ve had things sent to the mansion before, always tastier than market-bought items. Even if it’s all river fish, it just feels different in flavor.”

Only the things sent by the Jiang family to the mansion could get attention from his father-in-law and mother-in-law and would make the servants forbidden to handle them carelessly, keeping even a single sweet potato or radish for themselves. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

However, anything from the Jiang family was always tastier than what’s outside, letting it go would be a waste.

”Eat more if you like. It’s rare to have a good appetite. Many people can’t eat much in the first months of pregnancy, hurting their health and the baby’s.”

The second aunt, having been pregnant three times, understood the hardships in this process very well.

Seeing Fu Ya with a good appetite now also made her feel happy.

Xie Fuya didn’t know the details about the Jiang family but knew roughly that they had fled here to Cheng County.

Understanding the second aunt was genuinely kind to her, she didn’t put on airs but smiled and nodded.

”Of course, but mainly because the food is good. During the first few months of my pregnancy, I couldn’t eat and often overthought. It only got better when I came to Xiangmu Village.”

The second aunt looked lovingly: ”As long as you can eat. In about another half month, the rice in the fields will be ready to harvest. After paying the grain tax, there’ll be a lot left. By then, we’ll cook with fresh rice and make porridge. It’ll be even more fragrant.”

Speaking of which, Liu Qingfeng isn’t that much older than our eldest son. Seeing Fu Ya like this, she could imagine how her future daughter-in-law might be.

With this thought, she looked at Fu Ya even more kindly, using communal chopsticks to serve her dishes, urging her to eat well.

Hmm, treating this as practice ahead of time for getting along with a future daughter-in-law.

Under the enthusiastic hospitality of the second aunt, Xie Fuya burped, her face quickly turning red in embarrassment.

Fortunately, Xiaomi followed suit with an even louder burp, instantly diverting the attention from Fu Ya’s awkwardness.

Just at that moment, Aunt Yang and the others arrived on cue, seeing everyone had finished eating, they let them rest first.

Han Yan had helped with cooking earlier, and now she went to support the lady of her house, while Mengtiao went to help wash the dishes.

Usually, the second aunt would also help tidy up, but today, after Fu Ya finished eating, she kept conversing with her, seemingly having something to ask about, so she simply saw her out.
