Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Yan Can felt like a bit of a third wheel watching the two of them flirt.

Tactfully, he interrupted them. ”Brother Xu, Sister-in-law,” he said with a smile, ”I’ll let you two talk. I have some other things to attend to, so I’ll be going.”

”Don’t go yet.”

Lin Suiling said, ”We haven’t finished discussing getting our bread into your supermarkets.”

”Sister-in-law, we’re practically family, there’s no need for formalities. What’s left to discuss?”

Yan Can said with a smile, ”We’ll go with the plan you proposed earlier. As for getting my family on board, I’ll take care of that.”

”Is that really okay?”

Lin Suiling smiled. ”How about this? Since you’ve called me Sister-in-law, I can’t let you do it for nothing. I’m willing to give up two percentage points from our side. That way, you’ll have an easier time explaining things to your dad.”

”Thank you, Sister-in-law! You’re the best.”

Yan Can stood up happily. ”I’ll go report to the old man right now and get your business finalized as quickly as possible.”

”Okay. Thanks for your hard work.”

Seeing Yan Can was about to leave, Xu Yun stopped him.

”Not so fast. I have something to discuss with you, too.”

”???”

Yan Can asked, confused, ”Brother Xu, what is it?”

”The girlfriend of a friend of mine, she’s from a small county. She used to run a small convenience store and is looking for a job now.”

Xu Yun continued, ”She has some experience, so could you see if you can find a position for her at one of your family’s supermarkets?”

”Uh, of course, no problem.”

Yan Can agreed on the spot. ”I’ll head back and sort it out right away. I’ll get back to you once it’s done.”

”Okay.”

Xu Yun said, ”There’s one more thing. I wonder if you’d be interested.”

”What is it?”

”It’s about what we were just discussing—opening the bread factory.”

Xu Yun asked, ”Do you want in on it with us?”

Yan Can was immediately tempted, but he quickly realized a problem.

”I want to, of course.”

”But,” he said, somewhat awkwardly, ”I don’t have money or technical expertise.”

”But your family has a national supermarket chain.”

Xu Yun said, ”That’s the best sales channel there is. I’ll provide the funding, she’ll provide the technical expertise, and you’ll handle sales. The three of us would be a powerhouse partnership.”

”Really? Is that okay?” Yan Can instinctively looked toward Lin Suiling.

After all, this wasn’t Xu Yun’s decision to make alone.

Xu Yun knew what Yan Can was worried about. He turned to Lin Suiling and asked, ”What do you think of my proposal? Are you in?”

”It’s doable.” Lin Suiling agreed not because of her relationship with Xu Yun, but because she felt he had a point. Assuming you have funding and technical expertise, sales are indeed crucial.

And Yan Can’s family provided a rather good sales platform.

She hadn’t even considered that before.

If she merely entered into a simple supply agreement with their family, it certainly wouldn’t be as reliable as a partnership where he had a personal stake.

But this raised an important question.

How would the shares be divided?

’Surely I can’t be expected to give up another portion of my own shares.’

Lin Suiling asked, ”Then how would we split the shares?”

”We’ll both give up a little from our portions.”

Xu Yun proposed, ”I’ll take 40%, and you two can each take 30%. How does that sound?”

”All right, that works.”

After hesitating for a few seconds, Lin Suiling nodded. She turned to Yan Can and said, ”President Yan, we’ll be counting on you for sales from now on.”

”No problem.”

Yan Can exclaimed in excitement, ”I’ll make sure our bread is sold all across the country! Wherever my family has a supermarket, our bread will be there.”

After briefly discussing a few other details about the shares, Yan Can left.

With Yan Can gone, Xu Yun and Lin Suiling were able to speak much more freely.

Lin Suiling was the first to pounce, asking with a mix of indignation and embarrassment, ”Why did you just up and leave back then?”

”What else? Was I supposed to stick around and marry you?”

Xu Yun said without a hint of guilt, ”I told you, we’re an ill-fated match. It’s not wise to get too entangled.”

”An ill-fated connection is still a fated one.”

Lin Suiling said, ”Now that I’ve found you again, don’t even think about running off.”

”If I wanted to run away, I wouldn’t have agreed to invest with you just now.”

Xu Yun said with a dismissive pout, ”I have enough women in my life already. What’s one more?”

”A lot?”

Lin Suiling asked in surprise, ”Isn’t it just Xino?”

”Heh...”

Xu Yun just chuckled. ”Believe what you want. So don’t waste your energy on me. You can have my body, but you’ll never have my heart.”

”That’s not for certain. What if you grow to love me over time?”

Lin Suiling said with great confidence, ”Besides, I’ve got money, a great figure, and a pretty face. I’m basically the perfect wife you men dream of.”

”Maybe you were before. Now, you’re just so-so.”

”Tch~”

Lin Suiling didn’t believe him for a second. ”Are you busy this afternoon?” she asked with a smile. ”Why don’t you show me around Jiangcheng?”

”No time.”

”What do you have to do?”

Xu Yun answered, ”Sleeping with my other women. Want to join?”

”Get lost...” Lin Suiling snapped.

Of course, he was just kidding.

Xu Yun didn’t actually have anything planned that afternoon. Considering his one-day entanglement with Lin Suiling, he still took her for a tour around Jiangcheng.

They went to see the Hanjiang River, ate some local delicacies, and wandered through a shopping mall.

Finally, they went to Xu Yun’s luxury home in Jiangcheng Heaven and Earth.

Somehow, their bickering led them straight to the bedroom.

They intended to determine a winner through other means.

And so, their one-day entanglement became a two-day one.

After their simple yet ”in-depth exchange,” it was getting late, so Xu Yun drove her to the airport.

She had to get back as soon as possible to inform her family about the partnership she’d just arranged with Yan Can. They needed to prepare the product volume and send someone over to sign the contract.
