Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Since Yu Xuan hadn’t been drinking, she drove Song Xiaowei and Jian Shiwai home first.

Liang Yan went with Wanqing, and Yang Siqi called for a designated driver.

Lin Wanzhou and Wang Yurou had also called for designated drivers.

Xu Yun and Chen Xin followed Zhao Dong to the bar owner’s office, where they met the sexy proprietress and settled the bill for the night.

The total bill for drinks, service, and the venue buyout came to around 4.15 million!

After a phone call with her husband, the proprietress generously rounded the bill down, charging them a flat 4 million!

Xu Yun accepted the kind gesture.

The moment he transferred the 4 million, the system’s reward arrived.

[Faced with his hard-working employees, the Host chose to Do as You Please by booking an entire bar, spending 4 million on a dreamlike team-building event. He has earned the goodwill and affection of all his staff—this is the panache of a conscientious boss. Reward: 40 million in cash!]

[Current Account Balance: 1.05 billion]

Damn, a tenfold return.

The system was getting more and more generous!

Xu Yun didn’t feel much about it.

When he and Chen Xin left the bar, Zhao Dong offered to drive them home, but they refused.

Before leaving, Xu Yun privately transferred 50,000 to him as thanks for his hard work that night.

”President Xu, if you need anything in the future, just say the word.”

Zhao Dong was overcome with gratitude.

If Xu Yun hadn’t been so unwilling, he would have knelt and called him ’Daddy’ on the spot.

He’d seen rich kids before, but he’d never seen one who was so extravagantly generous, casually dropping tens of thousands as a tip!

After sending Zhao Dong off, Xu Yun couldn’t drive since he’d been drinking.

He turned to Chen Xin and asked, ”I remember my mom saying you got your driver’s license, right?”

”I got it, but I’ve never actually driven before.”

Chen Xin knew what Xu Yun was getting at. She shook her head. ”I wouldn’t dare drive your car.”

”There’s a first time for everything.”

Xu Yun smiled. ”Don’t be afraid. Driving is easy. I’ll be right here to guide you.”

”...” Chen Xin was speechless.

”You can’t just avoid driving forever, can you?”

Xu Yun continued, ”What if I get drunk someday and call you to pick me up? What would you do? Send someone else?”

”O...Okay.”

Chen Xin hesitated for a moment before mustering her courage. ”If I drive too slowly, or if I crash, you can’t get mad at me.”

”Er, I won’t.”

And so, a black, fully-loaded G-Wagon began to crawl down the late-night road at a turtle’s pace.

Two young guys on a motorcycle whizzed past them, letting out a loud, mocking laugh.

Chen Xin blushed and asked nervously, ”Am... Am I driving too slowly?”

”Not at all. Take your time, there’s no rush.”

Xu Yun reassured her, ”Besides, we’re not in a hurry. There’s less traffic now, so it’s the perfect time for you to practice.”

”Oh.”

About ten minutes later, Chen Xin and Xu Yun came across the same motorcycle that had overtaken them.

Only now, both riders were lying motionless on the ground, their bike overturned beside them.

The driver of a nearby car was helping them, calling 911.

Xu Yun glanced over, sticking his head out the window. He couldn’t help but shake his head. ”Kids these days. They just fall asleep anywhere, with no sense of time or place.”

”Shouldn’t we get out and take a look?”

”Someone’s already calling 911 for them. They don’t need us.”

Xu Yun added, ”You should just focus on your driving.”

”Oh.”

A drive that should have taken half an hour took Chen Xin a full hour. She was drenched in nervous sweat by the time they got home.

Especially after having witnessed a traffic accident.

Chen Xin said, ”You’d better not ask me to drive again.”

”Why?”

”I’m afraid for your life.”

”You drove really well today.”

Xu Yun said, ”Driving is just a matter of getting used to it. I’ll find a place for you to practice a few more times, and you’ll be fine.”

”It’s late. Don’t overthink it. Go take a shower and get to bed.”

”Oh.”

Chen Xin went to get her pajamas and then walked into the bathroom.

A moment later, she peeked her head out the door.

Xu Yun asked, puzzled, ”What’s wrong?”

”Do you want to shower with me?”

Chen Xin blushed and said in a low voice, ”It’s late. If we shower together, we could save a lot of time.”

”Are you testing me?”

”No, I was just saying.”

Having finally worked up her courage, Chen Xin immediately regretted it when Xu Yun asked that. With a shy smile, she quickly pulled her head back in.

”...” Xu Yun was speechless.

’Nope, not gonna stand for this!’

’She actually dared to flirt with me!’

Xu Yun walked right over, opened the door, and barged in.

Chen Xin’s startled cry immediately rang out from inside.

”Ah! Why did you come in?!”

”Heh heh...”

...

「The next day.」

After what had happened, Chen Xin didn’t dare face Xu Yun at all.

So, she had made her escape early in the morning.

When Xu Yun opened his eyes and got up, he saw the small note she had left on the table and smiled.

’She’s so adorable.’

He pursed his lips as he thought about last night, somewhat regretting his mercy.

At her pitiful begging, his heart had softened and he’d let her off, not taking that final step. Instead, he let her choose... another way to find her release.

’No need to rush,’ he thought. ’We’ve already showered together. The rest won’t be far behind.’

’All defenses are meant to be broken, one step at a time.’

Before, he’d been hesitant to make a move, held back by the thought that Chen Xin was someone his mother had arranged to be here.

But after hearing Su Mu’s ”After That Rushed Year” last night, he’d had an epiphany.

’To hell with all that!’

’We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.’

’As long as I like her now, and she likes me, we’ll worry about the future later!’

’It’s not like I’m going to mistreat her or do her wrong, right?’

’In any case, there’s no way I’m letting anyone else have her.’

’Call it selfish if you want, but I call it living with no regrets!’

Just before noon, Yan Can suddenly called and invited him to lunch.

Xu Yun agreed.

Coincidentally, he was planning to talk to Yan Can about a job for Wang Yurou today anyway.

But when he arrived at the restaurant, he froze.

Because in addition to Yan Can, he also saw Lin Suiling—the woman with whom he shared an ill-fated bond.

Lin Suiling, for her part, hadn’t expected to run into Xu Yun either.

For a moment, both of them were stunned.

Seeing their reactions, Yan Can asked in confusion, ”Brother Xu, you know Miss Lin?”

”We don’t know each other.”

Lin Suiling was the first to deny it.

”We do. Don’t listen to her.”

Xu Yun refused to play along with Lin Suiling. He just smiled and said, ”We slept together once in Hang City. You could say she’s practically your sister-in-law.”

”Who said you slept with me?!”

Lin Suiling shot back, flustered and indignant, ”If anything, I was the one who slept with you!”

Yan Can’s jaw dropped.

’Holy crap,’ Yan Can thought. ’Brother Xu is a fucking legend!’

Xu Yun ignored her impotent rage and asked Yan Can, ”How do you two know each other?”

”Oh, Miss Lin—no, wait...”

Yan Can quickly corrected himself. ”It’s my sister-in-law. She came to Han City to discuss a partnership with my family. She wants to sell her family’s bread in our supermarkets.”

”Your family sells bread?”

Xu Yun looked up at Lin Suiling with a grin. ”I had no idea selling bread was so profitable.”

”What, is that a problem? You look down on my family?”

Lin Suiling retorted, ”A guy became the richest man in the country selling bottled water. What’s so surprising?”

”Good point. I stand corrected.”

After saying that, Xu Yun turned to Yan Can. ”Don’t tell me you invited me here just to introduce us?”

”Um.”

Yan Can said awkwardly, ”My sister-in-law mentioned she was looking for a partner in Jiangcheng to build a new factory, so I thought of you.”

”Build a factory? Doesn’t your family have money?”

Lin Suiling explained, ”This is my own project, a completely new bread brand. It has nothing to do with my family.”

’Right. Another rich kid trying to make it on their own,’ he thought.

”Alright, how much do you need?”

Xu Yun didn’t hesitate. ”I’ll invest. I put up the money, you provide the team and the tech. But I want a 60% stake. Take it or leave it. You can find someone else.”

”Deal.”

After a moment’s hesitation, Lin Suiling readily agreed. ”But your shares have to be restricted.”

What she needed right now was capital; otherwise, she wouldn’t be looking for a partner.

Her family had already provided initial support with the team and technology.

Xu Yun frowned. ”What does that mean?”

”It means your shares only entitle you to dividends. You can’t participate in the management or operation of the factory.”

”Fine. No problem.”

Xu Yun nodded. ”Just tell me the total amount you need when the time comes, and I’ll have my people transfer it to you.”

”Aren’t you afraid I’ll lose it all?”

Lin Suiling said, ”The amount of money I’m asking for is no small sum.”

”That’s true.”

Xu Yun grinned. ”How about we sign a little contract on the side, then?

”If you lose the money, you’ll have to be my personal maid—serving me tea and washing my feet.”

”In your dreams!”

Lin Suiling retorted, flustered and indignant, ”I bet you want me to warm your bed for free, too!”

”You catch on quick.”

Lin Suiling was speechless. ”...”
