Super Rich by Doing as You Please

She first paid part of the deposit—30 million!

Once the plane was delivered to Jiangcheng International Airport in a few days, Xu Yun would personally inspect it. If there were no issues, he would then pay the remaining balance in full.

Xu Yun nodded.

Then they discussed matters regarding the flight crew.

Now that he’d bought the plane, he would need people to provide service, fly it, and maintain it, right?

He entrusted all these matters to the other party to handle.

After they finished their meal and went outside, Jian Shiwai hesitated for a moment before asking, ”President Xu, would you like to come to my place to rest? I have a lounge in my office now.”

Xu Yun picked up on her subtle hint and teased with a smile, ”If I go, where will you sleep? Or are we sleeping together?”

”The bed is 1.8 meters wide, you know.”

Hearing this, Jian Shiwai replied in a joking tone, ”If you don’t mind, President Xu, we could squeeze. It’s big enough for two.”

”Let’s not squeeze in today. Don’t forget about the money tonight.”

Xu Yun said, ”When the time comes, you should come and have some fun too.”

”Don’t worry, President Xu. I’ll bring the money on time.”

Seeing Xu Yun decline her invitation again, Jian Shiwai couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed. ”In that case, I’ll head back to the bank first,” she said.

Jian Shiwai had just gotten back to her office at the bank when Governor Gao arrived.

Jian Shiwai smiled. ”Gao Xing, you’re back?”

”Yes, I just got back.”

Gao Xing didn’t beat around the bush and said directly, ”I’m here to ask you about something.”

”What is it?”

”About President Gu’s loan.”

Gao Xing asked, puzzled, ”President Gu called me today. He said you weren’t willing to sign off on it. What’s going on?”

”There are some documents of his that I still need to verify.”

”Jian Xing, we’re not strangers here. I’ll be blunt.”

Gao Xing paused for a moment before continuing, ”President Gu and I are friends. I’ve also reviewed his loan application this time. There are no major issues; it meets the bank’s requirements.”

”In that case, Gao Xing, let me be honest with you as well.”

Jian Shiwai explained, ”This morning, President Gu came to my office, and there was some... unpleasantness between him and President Xu.”

”...” Gao Xing was speechless.

”If you think President Gu’s loan documents are fine, Gao Xing, I’ll sign off on them and approve the loan right now.”

”Uhm, well, I think...”

Gao Xing gave a couple of awkward, tactical coughs and said, ”You handled this very well. Although President Gu is my friend, we must strictly adhere to the bank’s procedures. We can’t make any errors in principle.”

”Understood, Gao Xing.”

”Alright, let’s leave it at that.”

Gao Xing added, ”Next time, remember to send my regards to President Xu. And if you get a chance, invite him to my office for some tea.”

”Of course, Gao Xing.”

Back in Gao Xing’s office, Gu Heng saw him return and immediately walked over, asking with concern, ”Old Gao, how did it go? Did Jian Shiwai sign?”

”No.”

”Why not?”

Gu Heng was astonished. ”She wouldn’t even give you face?”

”Why on earth did you have to go and provoke that Xu Yun!”

Gao Xing said irritably, ”Now there’s nothing I can do to help you.”

”Wait, Old Gao!”

Gu Heng was completely baffled. ”You’re the governor! You call the shots at this bank. He’s just a private citizen. Surely he can’t interfere with your decisions?”

”He can’t interfere, but if I help you, I’ll be offending him.”

’If I offend Xu Yun and he withdraws his funds, I could lose this governorship I’ve only just secured. I might get demoted right back to where I started!’

’When it comes to my own future, a friend is just a friend!’

Gu Heng: ”???”

”In any case, my hands are tied on this matter.”

Gao Xing said, ”You should try to get a loan from another bank.”

”...” Gu Heng was speechless.
