Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 542: Chapter 112 I Want It (Extra Additions for Little Koala Treasure)

”Have you never seen Wanping’s future before?” Wen Yu asked.

Fran shook his head.

”How could I check the future of everyone I meet? You know, the more you know, the faster you die. Unless ordered, I would never use Fate Inspection.”

”How did he leave the city?”

”I don’t know.”

”Fate Inspection can sense any being within its range, but this skill isn’t a passive ability. So, I can’t thoroughly monitor the activities of everyone within its range. Also, I need to remind you that Fate Inspection consumes my lifespan...”

Wen Yu was speechless.

Such a terrible cost for using the skill made Fran’s ability a trump card for the military—one not to be used lightly.

It seemed Wen Yu now owed Fran a significant favor—even though Fran hadn’t seen a thing.

”So, you’re saying you know I have a grudge against Wanping, but you can’t provide any valuable intelligence, am I right?”

Fran shrugged.

”Not exactly. Wanping does have a record in the military’s database!”

At Fran’s command, the Praetorian Guard standing at the office door quickly placed Wanping’s file on Wen Yu’s desk.

As Wen Yu glanced through Wanping’s history in the Yanjing Assembly Site, murderous intent surged within him.

He had underestimated this fellow...

It was hard to say if it was his nature or if his methods were simply brutal. In the few months since Wanping arrived at the Yanjing Assembly Site, he had made an immense name for himself in the outer city zone!

He was the boss of the Three Skulls Society, the most powerful dark force in the outer city zone. He controlled various underground industries—assassination, robbery, the sex trade, drugs, he had it all—with nearly 100,000 ordinary gang members under his command! Furthermore, including his elite organization, he currently had nearly a thousand Level 4 or higher professionists!

Indeed, in the entire Yanjing Assembly Site, the Three Skulls Society under Wanping’s control had become a colossal power, second only to the military!

Moreover, Wen Yu asked incredulously, looking at the report which stated that Wanping even controlled part of the distribution rights for relief food, ”This fellow has spread his influence so widely, why didn’t you guys rein him in?”

Fran shrugged.

”You should understand the saying ’There are no fish in too clear water’... Besides, you have to understand, the military isn’t practicing laissez-faire; they’re ’raising a pig.’ Once we have something incriminating on Wanping... you know.”

Fran winked at Wen Yu.

With the strength of the Three Skulls Society... If the military were to move against them... Wen Yu would consider it his loss if they could last even an hour!

Putting down the file, Wen Yu clicked his tongue.

Wanping had definitely vanished without a trace. Wen Yu knew this full well, but... maybe he could find some clues. Whether they could be caught depended on Wanping’s skills, but whether to try to catch him—that was a matter of Wen Yu’s attitude.

”Call Qin Tian and the other three over.”

The Praetorian Guard acknowledged the order and left. Wen Yu squinted, looking at the file in his hand, deep in thought.

It didn’t take ten minutes before the Praetorian Guard returned, bringing four people into Wen Yu’s office.

Arthur, Wang Fucai, Yang Hong, and... Ray.

Before Wen Yu could even ask, Ray stepped forward and explained, ”Qin Tian is responsible for Walter’s defense zone and can’t leave at the moment. I was worried you might have something urgent, so I came in his place.”

Looking at this professionist named Ray, who had a sincere expression on his face, Wen Yu remained silent for a moment before nodding lightly.

”Thank you.”

”Sit.”

Wen Yu gestured for them to sit. He then lightly tapped the file on his desk and said to them, ”I need your help with something.”

After saying this, Wen Yu opened his 2nd Soul Realm and released Cyclops.

”In short, I have a personal score to settle with this guy named Wanping. I want you to help me deal with him, and take Cyclops with you.”

After the four men had read through the file, Wen Yu said to them.

”It’s a small matter,” Arthur, Wang Fucai, and Yang Hong readily agreed, but Ray frowned.

”This could be problematic. The military has... plans for the Three Skulls Society...”

Before he could finish, Wen Yu waved his hand decisively.

”As of now, this Three Skulls Society is mine.”

Ray seemed to have more to say, but Fran tapped lightly on the table.

”No problem. The military won’t have any objections to this.”

In the eyes of the military, a mere Three Skulls Society was indeed of little consequence.

Upon hearing this, Ray no longer objected.

With the matter settled, Wen Yu fell silent again. His gaze swept over Arthur, Wang Fucai, and Yang Hong before he spoke to Yang Hong: ”Are you interested in being the boss of this Three Skulls Society?”

Yang Hong looked at Wen Yu, stunned, and slowly shook his head.

”This Three Skulls Society is too big. I’m worried I won’t be able to manage it.”

”Don’t be afraid, don’t feel any pressure. Among us, only you have some experience in being a boss, and besides...”

Wen Yu stood up from his chair, walked over to Yang Hong, and gently patted his shoulder.

”This so-called Three Skulls Society, for me, is merely a toy I’ve taken a momentary fancy to. If you want to run it well, then put in some effort. If you don’t want to be the boss, just arrange a handover to the military and let them deal with this Three Skulls Society. So, go ahead, play with it, shake things up, do whatever you like. This Three Skulls Society, to me, it’s nothing at all!”

Upon hearing this, Yang Hong no longer declined and nodded lightly, thereby accepting this ”task.”

”By the way, remember to change the name of this Three Skulls Society later. That name is just terrible.”

After stuffing Cyclops in his Mini Form into Arthur’s arms, Wen Yu turned to Ray, who was standing nearby, and said, ”Ray, find someone else to take them to the Three Skulls Society headquarters. You’ll take me to the front line in a bit.”

”Understood.”

Then, the four of them left the office. Wen Yu leaned against his desk, squinting as he continuously studied Ray’s retreating figure.

”Doesn’t it strike you as a bit odd? In my eyes, this guy’s strength even surpasses Walter’s and Qin Tian’s. A person like that couldn’t have just crawled out from under a rock, could he?”

Hearing Wen Yu’s question, Fran explained, ”Ray and Marcus are fine. I’ve examined their pasts using Fate Inspection. During the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle, those two were trapped in a treasure land, so they didn’t participate in it.”

Hearing Fran’s words, Wen Yu nodded and didn’t delve deeper into the matter.

Ray and Marcus were, after all, military personnel. Besides, with someone like Fran on their side, the military’s willingness to use them meant Fran had already investigated and confirmed there were no major problems.
