Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 510: Chapter 94: Loophole, Breaking the Boundaries_1

The basement of the Red Stone Hotel wasn’t extensive—nothing more than a warehouse, really.

Even though Claus did his best to lower the criteria for combat personnel, a large number of non-combatants were still filtered out.

Thousands of people were crammed into the basement. Ignoring sanitary conditions for a moment, the density of the crowd now facilitated the massacre by the two duplicants.

A simple Sonic Sword Technique (Oscillation) could instantly kill dozens, even hundreds, of people, not to mention the attacks from Qin Tian’s duplicant, for whom distance was irrelevant. All Qin Tian’s duplicant did was simply wave his hand; each gesture inevitably snuffed out one or, indeed, many vibrant lives!

In this terrifying slaughterhouse, a woman in her twenties held a little girl, about five or six years old, in her arms. The woman was squatting while the child stood. One wept loudly; the other shed tears in silence. Both had their eyes tightly shut, and both were trembling uncontrollably.

They were the only two in this slaughterhouse who had not been indiscriminately attacked.

Of course, in their current state of mind, Qin Shiyuan and Nicole were completely unaware of this strange situation.

They were merely passively awaiting death!

...

It felt as brief as a moment and as long as a lifetime...

The screams in the entire warehouse gradually subsided.

The massacre lasted just under three minutes.

Then, everything fell silent.

The sound of footsteps ”calmly” emerged from behind Qin Shiyuan...

THUMP, THUMP, THUMP.

The sound of rubber-soled shoes striking the ground grew steadily louder. The footsteps drew nearer, eventually stopping behind Qin Shiyuan...

His eyes, faintly radiating a purple light, fixed on the two crying females below. The Qin Tian duplicant’s almost programmatic mind began to whir.

Do not kill the mission target; eradicate all other humans...

But now, the mission target is protecting a kill target...

Thinking this, the path in the Qin Tian duplicant’s mind became clear.

A bone sword slowly extended from his hand. Then, the duplicant slowly raised the weapon, aiming it at Qin Shiyuan’s shoulder.

The mission target cannot be killed, but they can still be harmed.

If the bone sword pierces the mission target’s shoulder, it will pass right through and into the heart of the kill target. This way, all mission objectives can be achieved.

It had to be said that while these duplicants seemed like wooden blocks, their logical thinking was quite clear.

Following this simple line of reasoning, the Qin Tian duplicant took careful aim and slowly plunged the bone sword into Qin Shiyuan’s body.

...

The excruciating pain in her shoulder briefly jolted Qin Shiyuan from her dazed terror.

She felt a sharp object slowly emerge from her shoulder, its target clearly Nicole, who had her head buried in Qin Shiyuan’s embrace.

Immense terror washed over her. Now it’s Nicole; next, it’ll be me...

At that instant, Qin Shiyuan felt liquid uncontrollably stream from her eyes; the fear of death instantly shattered all her composure.

”AHHHHHH...”

Pain and fear compelled Qin Shiyuan to let out a bloodcurdling scream.

”Brother! Save me! Help me!!!”

Even knowing this plea for help was hollow and futile, Qin Shiyuan still screamed it with all her might.

...

Qin Tian, miles away, naturally couldn’t hear her cries for help. But Arthur, separated from her by merely one floor, did.

The acrid smell of blood permeated even the concrete slabs. Arthur was fully aware of the inhumane slaughter unfolding below, but the two duplicants restraining him made it impossible to move.

Hearing the familiar plea for help from below, an image of a beautiful figure flashed in Arthur’s mind.

As fellow members of the Wen Yu Organization, it would be unrealistic to say Arthur had no contact with Qin Tian; in fact, they interacted quite often.

Arthur was, naturally, also familiar with Qin Tian’s sister, Qin Shiyuan.

Hearing the heart-wrenching scream from below, Arthur’s heart clenched...

Is it too late already...?

Despair didn’t just envelop Qin Shiyuan; it weighed heavily on Arthur’s heart too.

Because there is one hard truth in this world: effort does not always bring reward.

Against a four-to-one power disparity, Arthur’s resistance seemed utterly pathetic.

At this moment, Arthur felt as if all strength had drained from him. He allowed the arms of the Arthur duplicant around his neck to tighten—though, for Arthur, this wouldn’t cause any real harm...

However, surprise often arrives so suddenly...

The very next moment, just as Arthur had given up struggling, the pressure on his neck abruptly vanished. It was as if the duplicants had malfunctioned; the two—one restraining his head and the other his feet—froze, stuck in their previous actions.

Simultaneously, in the basement.

The bone sword that had pierced Qin Shiyuan’s shoulder had already exposed its tip. However, the blade, which had been slowly and steadily advancing, abruptly stopped.

Not only in the Red Stone Hotel!

All duplicants within the entire Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier, as if they had crashed, instantly froze where they stood, incapable of any movement.

The next second, the barrier of the Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier began to grow thin.

Then, a roar that shook the heavens and the earth resounded throughout the entire Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier.
