Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 524: Chapter 101 Seed of Destruction_1

Wen Yu had contacted Lin Haifeng to request that he reopen the teleportation passage to the Eternal Sky City.

When the demon plague struck, Tang Haofei, in order to deal with the Hunting Group, had transferred partial authority over the Eternal Sky City to Lin Haifeng, which included control of the teleportation passage.

Currently, Lin Haifeng was responsible for managing the Eternal Sky City. To prevent it from being overrun by countless Humans lacking combat power, he had closed the teleportation passage. For those who couldn’t or dared not fight, the Eternal Sky City was their only sanctuary—however, Lin Haifeng had no need for them.

This world had no room for idlers, much less in a place as significant as the Eternal Sky City!

Lin Haifeng’s policy stipulated that he would only open a specific teleportation passage if the leader of a gathering place sent him a message just before its collapse. This served as a form of selection—after all, the Eternal Sky City’s strategic importance was too great to accommodate so many ”unimportant” people.

But for some reason, Wen Yu couldn’t contact Lin Haifeng.

After thinking for a while, Wen Yu hesitantly took out another communicator.

It was for contacting Tang Haofei...

As he put his finger on the call button, Wen Yu considered for a moment before placing the communicator back into his space ring.

By now, all the low-combat-power personnel in Las Vegas had perished; only the strong remained. Therefore, activating the teleportation array formation linked to the Eternal Sky City was no longer a pressing need.

It might be better to wait until I’ve dealt with these matters, then find them and discuss the next steps in our plan...

But before that...

Wen Yu gazed at the Demon Group in the distance, slowly rolling his neck.

Let’s start with a round of slaughter...

Wen Yu’s Almighty Demon Vine was famished!

「...」

Mara ran wildly towards the closest Demon Realm’s Gate.

Looking back, he saw that vast numbers of Demon Fiends were still lingering, awaiting further commands from their superiors.

He wasn’t sure if the message transmission was too slow, or if the Demon Tribe Strategic Command Center hadn’t discerned Wen Yu’s intentions. Regardless, with their current indecisiveness, Mara had already sentenced these Demon Fiends to death.

Upon reaching the Demon Realm’s Gate, Mara pulled out the skeletal communicator once again.

”Are the personnel I requested in position?”

The reply swiftly returned from the other side of the communicator, ”In 30 seconds.”

”Hmm...”

Mara pondered for a moment, then made a decisive decision.

”Don’t have them come over just yet. Open Demon Realm’s Gate Number 746; I’ll go back first.”

”Understood. Demon Realm’s Gate Number 746 will initiate reverse teleportation in 10 seconds. Please prepare.”

Upon hearing this news, Mara let out a long sigh of relief.

This place was becoming too dangerous...

「...」

Ten seconds later.

The Demon Realm’s Gate emanated a strange light. The gate, which had been continuously spewing out Low-grade demonic creatures, seemed to be sealed by an unknown force, and no more Demon Monsters emerged from within.

Seeing this, Mara immediately stepped into the Demon Realm’s Gate.

Accompanied by a wave of vertigo, by the time Mara regained his senses, he had already appeared in the Demon Realm.

The sky was dim, crisscrossed by ominous-looking rifts...

But these had nothing to do with him—they weren’t problems Mara could solve.

Standing his ground, he took several deep breaths of the rich Demonic Qi in the air, then sighed in contentment.

Earth was indeed more beautiful than the Demon Realm, but its Demonic Qi concentration was insufficient. After an extended stay on Earth, Mara even began to worry that his power might regress.

Just as Mara was comfortably reveling in the Demonic Qi, several bizarrely shaped Demon Monsters rapidly approached from the distance.

「...」

”Master, here is the item you asked for.”

The one in the lead, a bizarre Demon Monster barely a meter tall but possessing a single enormous eyeball, respectfully presented an item to Mara.

Casually accepting the item, Mara glanced down at his palm.

It was a pure black object, about the size of a grain of rice...

Seed of Destruction... a fragment...

”Which generation is this?”

”This is a sixth-generation seed.”

”Hmph... Damn stingy bastards, trying to fob me off with The Sixth Generation Seed of Destruction...”

Mara scowled at The Sixth Generation Seed of Destruction in his hand but, after a moment, still stored it away carefully.

This thing, even as a sixth-generation, was exceedingly precious—perhaps even more valuable than his own life!

Looking at the few Demon Monsters before him, whose strengths varied but did not exceed Middle Stage Level 5 at best, Mara sighed deeply.

With this little strength, trying to outmaneuver Sequence Number 2 would likely be quite difficult...

But... toying with Sequence Number 4 and Sequence Number 15 would be more than enough!

Combined with a few other factors and The Seed of Destruction in his hand, perhaps even Sequence Number 2...

Mara was very intelligent, and intelligent people tend to have a great deal of self-control.

Therefore, Mara quickly shook his head, dispelling the chaotic, impractical, and exceedingly dangerous thoughts from his mind. He then nodded at the few Demon Monsters before him.

”Wait for my message here.”

With that said, Mara once again used his authority to activate the teleportation passage of the Demon Realm’s Gate and returned to Earth.

「...」

When Mara returned to the outside world, the situation had not changed much.

Wen Yu was currently outside, recovering from his injuries, so, for the time being, this area remained under the Demon Tribe’s control.

Of course, how long it would remain safe was anyone’s guess...
