Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 523: Chapter 100: This Matter Isn’t Over! _2

The cruel sound of bone snapping and chewing slowly flowed out from the inside of the Pitch-dark World. This was agonizing for the Demon Fiend being tortured inside, but for the Demon Fiends outside listening to this sound, was it not also a torment?

After a while, the darkness swirled ominously.

Like a dark cloud, the Pitch-dark World drifted continuously toward the distance, leaving behind only a voice in its wake.

”Just wait... this isn’t over yet!”

「In the distance.」

Hiding in a crevice, Mara clearly saw everything that happened.

When the murderous words emerged from the Pitch-dark World, Mara couldn’t help but shudder.

Quickly stowing the irregular mirror she was holding, Mara rapidly emerged from the crevice, running in the direction opposite to the Pitch-dark World’s drift.

Because Mara knew what Wen Yu planned to do next...

Was Wen Yu’s power terrifying?

No, it wasn’t terrifying. Power itself isn’t something to be feared.

What’s truly terrifying is the one who controls this power!

Wen Yu wasn’t the most powerful Human—at least, he was no match for Tang Haofei—but he was definitely the person in this world one should provoke the least, the one you absolutely must not cross!

Because Wen Yu had no attachments.

He had no family, no lover, no friends, no one and nothing he cared about. This made Wen Yu an individual wielding immense power yet completely unrestrained.

Strictly speaking, the destruction of Las Vegas was, for Wen Yu, a good thing.

Because once Wen Yu had attachments, it would be tantamount to him setting up his own prison—Las Vegas’s existence was a weakness for him.

And in this world, no one would pass up the chance to exploit an enemy’s weakness!

For Mara, the difference between Sequence Number 2 and Sequence Number 4 wasn’t just in strength, but more so in mentality and character.

Against Qin Tian, Mara could think up dozens of ways to kill him in an instant—even though Mara’s strength was pitiful compared to Qin Tian’s!

Because for Qin Tian, Qin Shiyuan was his Achilles’ heel!

But Wen Yu had no weaknesses—at least, no external ones.

To kill Wen Yu, one needed to confront him head-on with absolute power.

So, when Wen Yu declared, ”This isn’t over yet!” Mara already knew what he planned to do...

His strategy was to rely on his absolute strength to wage guerrilla warfare. With his overwhelming individual power, his ability to both fight and flee, and complete control of the initiative, the entire American Continent had already become Wen Yu’s hunting ground!

For Wen Yu, the destruction of Las Vegas was equivalent to his enemies having shattered his own cage!

They had unleashed a monster with no more scruples!

The dark cloud seemed to move slowly, but in reality, it surged into the distance at great speed.

The Demon Fiends along the way, who had received orders, had already retreated far from the Pitch-dark World’s range of coverage.

Ten minutes later, Wen Yu had broken out of the Demon Tribe’s encirclement. He retracted the surrounding Pitch-dark World and slowly landed on an earthen mound from mid-air.

With a swipe of his space ring, a heap of bottles and jars appeared before Wen Yu.

Opening his Soul Realm, Wen Yu released his four soul pets.

Cyclops had sustained the most severe injuries—but Cyclops was usually the one least afraid of being hurt. However, having lost his head, his skill, Great Feast, was effectively sealed. This would inevitably impact the improvement of Cyclops’s strength.

Wen Yu opened a large number of healing potions, pouring them onto Cyclops’s neck. Watching as strands of crimson flesh slowly sprouted, Wen Yu felt a chill run down his spine—the sight of a head regrowing was definitely not a pleasant one.

After distributing medicinal potions to Star and Victor, Wen Yu slowly savored an Energy Recovery Potion as if sipping tea, all while observing the movements of the Demon Fiends in the distance.

This matter indeed wasn’t over yet!

He hadn’t gone on a killing spree just now because he was deep within the Demon Tribe’s encirclement, and it would be easy for other complications to arise.

But now that he had broken free, the hot potato had been passed to the Demon Tribe—they needed to decide whether to fight or flee. If they fought, how should they fight? If they fled, how should they flee?

If they couldn’t fight and couldn’t run... then they could only wait for death.

Victor, standing to the side, had serious burns all over his body. However, with the recovery effects of high-efficiency healing medicine, these injuries weren’t a major issue.

Victor, enduring the itching sensation of his fur regrowing, ran over to Wen Yu and placed the bow and arrow held in his mouth before him.

Victor said, ”The one who launched the invisible attacks left this. It seems like a pretty good item.”

Wen Yu took the bow and arrow, not even checking its Attribute before slipping it into his space ring. He then squinted, glanced at the Demon Group ahead which still showed no signs of movement, and patted Victor’s head.

”Wait,” Wen Yu said. ”Once our injuries are mostly healed, we’ll deal with those Demon Bastards... No, not just them. Let’s set a timeframe: ten days. Within these ten days, we kill as many as we can.”

His tone was casual, as if he were deciding what to have for dinner.

When Victor heard Wen Yu’s promise, he nodded gently.

Perhaps a ten-day massacre could soothe his heart somewhat...

As for whether there would be any danger... That was something Wen Yu hadn’t even considered. What battle didn’t involve danger?

Just as Mara had surmised, Wen Yu, now without Las Vegas, had transformed into a ravenous beast. The Demon Group in the distance was like a giant meat pie; Wen Yu could take a bite whenever he wanted and retreat to rest when he didn’t. This was a shameless tactic, and given his current strength, it was also an unstoppable one!

However, the process didn’t matter, nor did the airs of a powerful expert. Wen Yu only wanted results—enhancing his strength was one part of it; soothing Victor and avenging the dead of Las Vegas was another.

Nearby, Cyclops, Star, and Victor were gulping down healing potions. Wen Yu kneaded the dough-like Faceless in his hand while observing the movements of the Demon Fiends in the distance.

Even now, the massive horde of Demon Fiends in the distance had made no significant moves—they neither charged in Wen Yu’s direction nor retreated elsewhere.

Perhaps for the Demon Tribe’s commander, the next strategic move was a real headache.

After a while, Wen Yu finally seemed to recall something and promptly took out his communicator from his space ring.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. The busy signal sounded a few times before the call finally connected.

”How are you doing now?”

”I’ve escaped, with Qin Tian’s sister and another surviving little girl.”

”Hmm...”

After pondering for a moment, Wen Yu said decisively, ”You should leave this area first. Wait for my word.”

With Arthur safe, Wen Yu then dialed Qin Tian’s communicator.

”I’m still within the Demon Tribe’s encirclement, hiding in a crevice. For now, the Demon Fiends haven’t discovered me.”

The previous battle hadn’t lasted very long, so Qin Tian’s injuries had probably just finished healing.

”I’ll cause some disturbances shortly,” Wen Yu said. ”Figure out what to do on your own then.”

”Understood.”

After ending the call, Wen Yu took a deep breath.

Of all the people in the vast city of Las Vegas, so few had survived—perhaps others were still alive, but Wen Yu couldn’t contact them. Their survival could only be left to fate.

Thinking about this, Wen Yu took out another communicator and dialed a number he hadn’t contacted in a long time.

RING... RING... RING... The line continued to ring for nearly thirty seconds, but still, no one answered.

Wen Yu squinted, lost in thought. After a long pause, he finally returned the communicator to his space ring.

This communicator had been given to him by Lin Haifeng after their visit to the Eternal Sky City for the Demigod Plan, before the demon plague.

And the call he had just made was to Lin Haifeng’s private line...
