Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 450: Chapter 119: Training

The Mountaineering Association on this side was very welcoming.

Not only because Chen Wen was considered half one of their own and he paid promptly,

but also thanks to Liu Yu’s introduction.

As soon as Chen Wen arrived, they presented him with three options to choose from.

After considering all aspects, Chen Wen chose the most intense training method.

The training lasted for a month and was personally taught by a vice president of the Mountaineering Association.

This person was also one of the nation’s top climbing experts and a friend of Liu Yu.

In his personal profile, Chen Wen even saw records of the legendary ”El Capitan” climb.

Of course, it was a protected climb.

At the same time, this expert also had records of free solo climbing, ranking him among the top climbers in the country.

The month of training flew by.

Chen Wen gained a lot from it.

In rock climbing, his progress was rapid.

During training, Chen Wen deliberately turned off the entries and relied purely on his own efforts.

The vice president conducting the special training also had high praise for Chen Wen.

”Good physical condition and above all, strong mentality. To be honest, he’s a bit like Alex. You might want to run a comprehensive check-up on his body? I have a feeling his brain has a very low response to fear.”

Liu Yu laughed at the vice president’s assessment: ”We checked last time, this guy’s brain is normal; it’s just that his body recovers quickly. As for fear? Someone who can face elephants, hunt elephants, and not get hurt themselves – how could such a person fear heights? Honestly, it’s you Mountaineering Association people who aren’t up to par. Chen Wen is just average at our place.”

Hearing this, the other side promptly swore: ”Sun, you brag! Your survival people aren’t that great! Try tackling El Capitan if you dare!”

”Why don’t you come with me to the Sahara!”

”Coward! I knew you wouldn’t dare!”

Just the usual banter!

Assistant Sun, standing by, rolled his eyes.

...

After the rock climbing special training ended,

Chen Wen rested at home for a week and got in touch with Qu Yong.

Regarding Chen Wen’s request for guidance, Qu Yong agreed gladly.

They roughly scheduled a time for Chen Wen to head to the Da Xing’an Ridge in a week.

Mr. Qu’s home is near the Da Xing’an Ridge.

Timing it right, the three animals from Caprivi seemed to be arriving soon.

It was just right to check on the three animals while doing the special training.

Chen Wen thought.

A week later, Chen Wen first went to the zoo to see the leopard brothers and the hippopotamus.

The journey to a foreign land was quite tough, and the three animals suffered quite a bit.

Especially the hippo, which showed symptoms of acclimatization issues as soon as it arrived at the zoo.

However, this time Chen Wen didn’t need to intervene.

With Chen Wen’s funding, the zoo’s finances were quite ample.

The veterinary and staff teams had expanded significantly.

”The symptoms are already mild. Large animals like this, after prolonged transport, are indeed more prone to such symptoms, but as long as they are well taken care of and treated in a timely manner, it’s not a serious illness.”

Jiang Xue stood next to Chen Wen, looking through the glass wall at the hippo soaking in the water.

Chen Wen nodded: ”With Mr. Jiang’s care for the animals, I feel very assured. But lately, it seems I’m troubling you, as these three animals are quite unruly.”

”They’re just a bit wild.”

Jiang Xue said with a smile: ”In fact, I prefer such animals. Rest assured, I will take good care of them, but as for you...”

Switching topics, Jiang Xue looked at Chen Wen: ”As a friend, I was really worried about your actions in Caprivi.”

”One person, even with a hippo, you went to challenge a bull elephant, it’s just...”

For a moment, Jiang Xue didn’t know whether to say Chen Wen was brave or had a death wish.

”Hehe, it was purely an unexpected situation.”

Chen Wen chuckled, changing the subject: ”I’ll go check on the bobcats first, you go on with your work.”

Hearing this, Jiang Xue shook her head.

...

The bobcats were living quite comfortably, as could be seen from their slightly chubby bodies.

After seeing Chen Wen, the animals had a great time with him.

But just as Chen Wen was about to leave,

the bobcat called out to him.

”Chen Wen, I have a discovery.”

The bobcat said mysteriously: ”These days, I keep dreaming of you – no, to be accurate, I dream that I become you.”

Chen Wen was taken aback.

What does that mean?

After careful communication with the bobcat, Chen Wen finally understood.

Simply put, the bobcat was dreaming of Chen Wen’s memories while sleeping, very clearly and quite continuously.

After listening, Chen Wen pondered for a while.

A moment later, he finally realized something.

It’s an issue of [Communication].

After this survival, there were some changes in the description of [Communication].

Original description: [Communication: As an Apprentice Druid, you have initially mastered communicating with animals. You can initiate communication with some animals (limited to special animals).]

Current description: [Communication: As a Druid, you can now actively initiate communication with animals (limited to special animals), and special animals will share your wisdom.]

Sharing wisdom, does that also include sharing memories?

Or is the animals’ wisdom copying mine?

Chen Wen wondered, asking the bobcat: ”Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”

”Not really, instead, because I keep dreaming about your past events, I feel like I’ve lived with you for a long time. It’s quite comfortable, and I know how to use many things in human society now!”

The bobcat said.

”Do the other animals have similar experiences?”

”They do, but not as obviously as me.”

Alright then, seems like there are no negative effects, and it’s only memories from before the island.

Chen Wen petted the bobcat’s fur: ”Eat well, sleep well, and in a little over six months, we’ll move to our new home!”

Hearing Chen Wen’s words, the bobcat showed an expression of great anticipation.

A new territory!

...

After having a meal with the zoo’s gatekeeper and Jiang Xue,

Chen Wen headed straight to Qu Yong’s home.

This top domestic adventurer’s home was in a very remote location, a small village deep in the mountains.

Very simple, just a typical farmhouse courtyard.

Qu Yong’s wife wasn’t the noblewoman image Chen Wen imagined, but a genuine rural woman.

As soon as she saw Chen Wen, she enthusiastically picked up a butcher knife, slaughtered chickens and geese, and invited Chen Wen into the house.

Chen Wen felt very at home.

”How is Mr. Qu’s health?”

Chen Wen and Qu Yong walked into the house and placed the gifts he had brought against the wall.

Qu Yong shook his head: ”Same as it was, fractures take a hundred days to heal. Released from the hospital, but still need to recuperate. It doesn’t affect daily life.”

”That’s good. I’ve brought some supplements for you. Let your wife make some nourishing soups to help you recover better.”

Chen Wen said: ”In my hometown, we make sure to cook nourishing soups after an injury to avoid affecting the body’s foundation.”

”You’re thoughtful.”

Qu Yong smiled. Although his scars were fierce, his smile was warm.

”No need to say much more.”

Qu Yong walked to his table, took out a training plan: ”I watched your survival videos from Caprivi, and based on your weaknesses and strengths, I’ve come up with a plan. Tomorrow, we’ll bring enough supplies and head into the mountains for a month’s special training. I believe after a month, your abilities will improve significantly.”

Looking at the densely packed training items, Chen Wen’s lips twitched slightly.

Wow, why does this feel like going back to high school?
