Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 429: Chapter 98: Golden Entry

”It really worked!”

”It did.”

”Unbelievable!”

Watching Chen Wen stagger back to the shelter, several eliminated contestants on the production team’s side were in disbelief.

Hunting an elephant was something they couldn’t even imagine.

But today, it happened right in front of their eyes.

And it was done by a contestant competing with them at the same time.

This gave them a surreal feeling.

It’s like being in university when all of a sudden, a high school classmate tells you he’s become a father and invites you to the celebration.

”He’s incredible. He must have spent a lot of time sweating it out in the gym!”

Kaelian said admiringly.

”Being eliminated by him is not unfair. Rounding it up, my combat power is equivalent to an elephant too.”

Brad, who had a bit too much to drink, said.

Ivan sighed slightly.

When he saw a leopard, he already felt Chen Wen was outrageous.

Who could have thought that he also had a leopard, and even a hippo?

Luckily, it was Feng Zhong who made the move then.

Otherwise, if it had been against Chen Wen, it would surely leave a psychological shadow.

At this moment, Yoshikawa Feng said with some jealousy: ”If I had a hippo, I definitely could have too...”

”Come on, come on.”

Brad interrupted the spell, ”You’re not even as good as me. At least I took the initiative to interact with Chen Wen and even faced the hippo head-on.”

Damn!

Yoshikawa Feng’s face darkened, and he couldn’t hold back.

As he was thinking of arguing with Brad, his phone rang several times.

Yoshikawa Feng glared at Brad and walked out with his phone.

[Video received, this person’s combat ability is indeed impressive, be sure to gather intelligence on his survival habits]

[Understood!]

Playing the spy role, Yoshikawa Feng sneakily put away his phone, pretending as if nothing had happened, and continued to observe inside the room.

...

Over on Chen Wen’s side, after returning to the camp,

he lay directly inside the shelter, planning to sleep a while before doing anything else.

When he woke up, it was already dusk.

Sitting up in the shelter, Chen Wen felt a hollow sensation inside.

It’s said everyone who naps into the evening feels this way because it’s a gene inherited from ancestors.

In ancient times, if humans couldn’t return to their caves before nightfall,

they’d be trapped in the dark and ensnared by danger.

Imagine an ancient human waking up in the wilderness,

the dim sky, the surrounding silence, as if all companions had left.

Being isolated in an unknown environment was one of human’s greatest fears in early evolution.

Through thousands of years of genetic transmission, it became the deep-seated fear within humans.

However, Chen Wen’s feeling wasn’t severe, because he wasn’t alone in this wilderness.

”Back?”

Chen Wen casually turned off the radio equipment, looking towards the two leopards.

Abel: Got used to it.

Leopard the Second gently lifted its head, looking at Chen Wen: ”Yeah, human, what happened to you? Why did you sleep so long?”

”Too tired!”

Chen Wen yawned, the hunt had drained almost all his energy.

But after the nap, Chen Wen felt much better now.

After sitting up,

he looked at the large chunk of elephant meat in front of him, and only then realized he had completed an extremely challenging task for a survivor at noon.

That was hunting an adult male African elephant!

”Are you hurt?”

Chen Wen scratched his head, asking the leopard brothers.

Leopard the Second shook its head: ”I’m not, my big brother got hit by the elephant’s trunk, but it’s not serious, the hippo seems to have sustained a minor injury.”

In this hunt, without a doubt, the hippo was under the most pressure and had the toughest task.

Moreover, it was the hero that brought the elephant down.

Chen Wen thought he should check on the hippo.

But before he could stand up, along with a familiar footstep,

the hippo leisurely walked into the camp.

”Human, how are you?”

The hippo asked.

Chen Wen quickly waved, signaling the hippo to come over.

The leopard brothers instinctively moved away from Chen Wen, lying down further away.

Even though the hippo and Leopard the Second can communicate, there’s still some distance between them.

Seeing this, Chen Wen felt he could only figure out how to bring them closer after the survival challenge ends.

With a blessing from the ”Animal Doctor,” the hippo felt much better instantly.

After exchanging a few words with Chen Wen, it headed off to eat.

Although the hippo’s eating isn’t as exaggerated as an African elephant, eating all night is still normal.

Chen Wen didn’t disturb the hippo.

As the night fully descended, Chen Wen lit a bonfire, adding some wood, planning to take advantage of this time to roast and eat some meat.

He used a machete to cut the elephant meat into large chunks, then found a long stick to skewer the meat together.

When the bonfire blazed, he placed the skewers on the edge of the fire to roast.

”Sort of like an unconventional roast on skewers, but I’m using acacia wood twigs for these skewers.”

Chen Wen said, taking out the last handful of seasoning.

He planned to finish off these seasonings tonight.

It’s got to be said, the props the production crew prepared this time were quite abundant.

Even using the seasonings without much restraint, Chen Wen consumed them over twenty days.

If this were on ”Alone in the Wilderness,” he’d probably use them all in a month.

When he gets back, he’ll also need to practice controlling his seasoning intake.

Otherwise, in the wilderness, he wouldn’t have so many seasonings to squander.

After noting this down, Chen Wen waited for the elephant meat to roast thoroughly.

The wait turned into over half an hour.

When the elephant meat started exuding a fully cooked aroma, Chen Wen’s mouth began to water.

Having eaten neither lunch nor dinner, plus the intense hunting activities,

Chen Wen felt like he could eat an entire cow at this point!

Taking the skewer off the fire, he took a bite of the elephant meat.

Chen Wen’s eyes darkened.

The elephant meat was not as tasty as he imagined.

In terms of texture, the elephant meat felt like extremely old pork, making it tough to chew.

The flavor was mainly from the seasoning, but upon careful tasting, there was a faint sour note.

”Alright, this meat isn’t as nice as I expected.”

Chen Wen said, his hand holding the skewer hesitated a bit.

Tossing it would be a pity.

Keeping it, however, might just torture himself.

Ultimately, Chen Wen decided to endure the torment and ate the unique-flavored skewer, one way or another.

”Flavor-wise, ugh~, it’s still okay.”

Chen Wen gave a thumbs-up to the camera.

Behind the camera, Lin Jiawei shook his head.

No wonder he could survive in the wild, right?

Even when feeling nauseous, he could keep a straight face and tell the camera it was delicious.

Truly amazing!

No time to savor the elephant’s taste, Chen Wen started picking the entries.
