Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 443: Chapter 112: Exhaustion

”What are we going to do today?”

At the spot where Chen Wen eliminated Feng Zhong, Rock packed his things and asked Adam.

Adam shook his head, ”What else can we do? We need to find a chance to eliminate Chen Wen. Last night, I saw him heading downstream, so we can take the canoe downstream to track him. And Chen Wen’s hippo is still by the water, so we can also determine Chen Wen’s position based on the location of the canoe.”

After the two discussed, they began to act.

They went to the place where the canoe was hidden and dragged it out from the reeds.

”Get on the boat.”

Adam urged Rock and got on the canoe first.

Rock looked at the canoe, frowning slightly.

He felt like something was off with the canoe but couldn’t pinpoint what.

Shaking his head, Rock climbed into the canoe and started paddling.

...

”They’re on the boat, it’s over!”

”These two geniuses didn’t even check the boat’s body?”

”Chen Wen was so ruthless! He actually drilled two holes in the bottom of the boat in advance!”

Watching the two get on the boat, everyone in the show crew who knew what was happening was already mourning for the two.

Downstream in another reed bed,

Seeing the two get on the boat, Chen Wen was already laughing.

”These two’s vigilance is truly a bit low. But it’s good, we can take care of them today!”

Chen Wen said, riding slowly out of the reeds on the hippo.

Seeing Chen Wen, Adam and Rock immediately shifted their attention over.

”Chen Wen!”

Adam stood up from the canoe, eyes burning: ”Not running anymore?”

Rock also held a pole made of a wooden stick, watching Chen Wen on the hippo warily.

”I never ran away; last night was to let you two calm down and recall the rules.”

Chen Wen said, pointing at Rock behind them, ”You two violated the rules last night; I’m not a team, but you two teamed up.”

Hearing this, Adam immediately said, ”Sorry, last night was indeed our problem. We’ll accept any penalty the show gives us, and if you have any requests, we can accept them too.”

Chen Wen waved his hand, ”Actually, it doesn’t matter; you two teaming up has the same result. How about this, let’s have a speed race. If you can catch up with me, I’ll let you two team up.”

As he spoke, Chen Wen glanced at their canoe.

He had drilled two holes in the bottom of the boat with a long spear, and there were two more near both sides of the waterline.

It seems now that these inconspicuous holes were letting water in.

This process won’t be too fast, but it won’t be slow either.

In about an hour, their canoe will be ruined.

This proposal was also to distract them and drain their energy.

To set the stage for final elimination.

Hearing Chen Wen’s proposal, Adam immediately accepted: ”Okay, then we’ll chase you!”

”Come on.”

Chen Wen patted the hippo, and it headed downstream at once.

It used its unique way of moving forward to carry Chen Wen quickly.

In the back.

Adam glanced at Rock, and the two put in all their strength.

One person used the pole to push the canoe forward vigorously on the river bottom.

The other quickly paddled, controlling the canoe’s direction while providing power.

...

On the Kuanduo River, a speed race was underway.

With Chen Wen in front, using the hippo’s unique way of moving, it was completely dusting them.

Not only was the speed fast, but there was also no need to detour.

The hippo’s right of way was absurdly high.

Adam and Rock behind, however, were not as lucky.

Even though they were slightly faster than Chen Wen, their right of way was a bit low.

After all, they needed to avoid hippos along the way as well as Nile crocodiles.

Even some beasts coming to drink by the shore had to be avoided.

As a result, although their speed was fast, it was always hard to catch up to Chen Wen and them.

”Damn, I’m exhausted!”

Rock shook his aching arms, unable to help but speak after ten minutes.

Adam shook his head, ”It’s already quite something that Chen Wen accepted us both chasing him. Cherish this opportunity!”

At twenty minutes.

Rock and Adam were drenched in sweat.

They were already almost speechless.

And it was at this moment that Rock noticed the water inside the canoe was quite a lot.

”Why is there so much water?”

”Maybe it got in while paddling?”

Adam said casually.

To achieve speed, they made big movements while paddling.

The paddle occasionally splashed some river water, accumulating over time, which seemed normal.

At thirty minutes.

Adam and Rock couldn’t speak at all.

Their lips felt dry like the Caprivi in the dry season, and their throats were steaming with heat.

So hot! So thirsty! So sore!

Especially Rock.

With slightly less stamina, his arms now were out of strength.

But Chen Wen was still in a leisurely state, even letting the hippo stop by the bank, waving to them to hurry up.

Such behavior, as if humiliating, made Rock and Adam burn with anger.

”Catch up with him!”

Rock shouted in anger, as a new wave of energy surged from deep within as if finding an oasis after a drought.

It was also at this moment Adam felt something was wrong.

But looking at the bursting Rock, he couldn’t say to stop.

Could only keep his head down and paddle.

Watching the two burst with energy, Chen Wen chuckled inwardly.

Not much time left!

...

An hour later!

From the show crew’s side, seeing Adam and Rock’s miserable state, their assistants couldn’t bear to watch.

At this moment, Adam and Rock looked like refugees who had just swum across the ocean to escape.

The two were soaked, indistinguishable whether it was sweat or river water.

At the same time, their lips were pale, and Rock’s lips were even trembling lightly.

There were even some unidentified solids on their bodies.

Their stamina was at its limit.

After paddling for an hour, forget Tyson; even Tielo came, he might not withstand it!

”Still... chasing?”

Looking at the canoe cabin accumulating water deeply, Rock asked Adam somewhat miserably.

Adam sighed, cupping the water from the cabin with his hands, saying: ”Unless I’m mistaken, we’ve been tricked.”

”Heh, I realized it long ago.”

Rock gave a wry laugh, ”But I’m just not convinced! Clearly, several times we could have caught up, but in the end!”

He clutched his head, not knowing what to say.

The worst time was the hippo’s doing.

Back then, Adam just had to extend the paddle and could have hit the hippo.

But as they roared, demanding speed to pin down Chen Wen.

That hippo!

That damned hippo!

It actually took a crap!

The short tail spun like a propeller, spinning vigorously.

Then streams of cyan-green excrement spurted out and were spun by the tail, bombarding the two in a barrage.

Luckily, they closed their mouths quickly, so it was only external trauma.

This almost affected Chen Wen as well.

Chen Wen immediately stopped the hippo, but when he turned back, seeing the filthy two, he couldn’t help but laugh.

This moment caused Adam and Rock to lose their ability to think.

The two decided to chase relentlessly, at least to exhaust the hippo’s stamina!

Unfortunately, human endurance is indeed strong, but only on the right track.

With the hippo going downstream, only simple jumps were needed for it to travel easily.

While the two needed to expend much more energy.

Thus, an hour later, the two were in this state.

They didn’t have the strength to chase any longer, nor the strength to run.

And Chen Wen, on the other hand, was spirited and energetic!

The offensive and defensive positions had switched!
