Chapter 405: Chapter 74: Secretly Subduing the Leopard Brothers

As Leopard the First returned to the side of Leopard the Second, both leopards watched Chen Wen warily.

Chen Wen also called the hippo to his side, keeping a safe distance from the leopards.

He thought for a moment and said, ”I can let you go.”

Leopard the Second was delighted and immediately said, ”We can leave and never come back to fight you again.”

Chen Wen nodded.

Just as Leopard the Second was about to leave, Chen Wen said, ”Wait.”

Leopard the Second immediately grew tense.

But Chen Wen waved his hand and said, ”I can see that your injury is quite severe. I can treat you.”

As he spoke, Chen Wen pointed to the wounds on Leopard the Second’s body.

Healing!

Leopard the Second looked at Chen Wen in surprise and said, ”Really?”

”Of course, but I have one condition.”

Chen Wen said.

Condition?

The leopard wasn’t quite sure what the word meant, but eager to heal its injuries, it immediately said, ”Okay, I agree!”

It called out to its brother.

Meaning to wait before leaving.

As large cats capable of growling, leopards can produce many sounds to convey various messages.

Thus, communication between Leopard the Second and its brother occurred with almost no barriers.

Under Chen Wen’s watchful eye, Leopard the Second cautiously approached him.

”Don’t be afraid; I mean no harm.”

Chen Wen extended his hand and said to the leopard, ”The conflict with you this time was because you attacked my colleagues first.”

Leopard the Second remained silent, only watching the hippo warily.

When Chen Wen’s right hand landed on Leopard the Second’s head,

with the activation of [Animal Doctor], Leopard the Second immediately felt a change.

The pain on its body seemed to lessen momentarily.

Moreover, the person in front of it who could communicate seemed more pleasing to the eye.

It licked its wounds and said, ”Thank you. I will leave with my brother and not return.”

Sigh, why leave?

Chen Wen hurriedly said, ”Don’t rush off; do you remember the condition you agreed to?”

Condition?

There was indeed such a thing.

The leopard nodded, ”What is a condition?”

Chen Wen sighed.

The leopard, having just gained wisdom, was still too naive.

He said, ”It’s like this: you actually don’t need to leave. I can let you live around here, but the premise is you and your brother won’t come to fight us.”

Chen Wen expressed his meaning as clearly as possible in a way the leopards could understand.

Leopard the Second was stunned for a while and then confusedly said, ”I understand; do you want to become our brother too?”

Hmm... that’s actually correct.

Chen Wen nodded, ”Sort of.”

Leopard the Second was quite eager to become brothers with Chen Wen, as it held him in high regard.

But it glanced at the hippo, watching intently, and hesitated.

”Right, it’s just like you, a special animal.”

Chen Wen patted the hippo, signaling it to relax.

Leopard the Second hesitated for a moment, lowered its head, and growled at its brother, conveying Chen Wen’s goodwill.

Leopard the First also growled.

A message appeared in front of Chen Wen.

[He took my territory!]

So this leopard cares so much about territory?

Before Chen Wen could speak, Leopard the Second growled twice more, telling its brother that they currently couldn’t beat Chen Wen’s side and urging it to reconsider.

Chen Wen added, ”If you truly want to occupy the territory alone, I can give it up and return it to you.”

After seeing the superior living conditions at Yoshikawa Feng’s place, Chen Wen was somewhat tempted to move over there.

If he could win over the two leopards, Chen Wen felt that giving up his current shelter and moving to Yoshikawa Feng’s was acceptable.

Facing the threat of the hippo, Chen Wen’s friendliness, and his brother’s persuasion,

Leopard the First quickly decided to stay with his brother.

With Leopard the Second as a witness, Chen Wen extended his hand and added the [Animal Doctor] buff to Leopard the First as well.

This buff wasn’t for status but to increase goodwill.

As Chen Wen expected, after applying the buff, the hostility in the leopard’s eyes was instantly reduced.

Its growling even shifted from hostile hissing to a more friendly purring.

The purring was quite similar to that of a house cat.

At this time, Chen Wen’s system responded.

[Extraction from natural creature—African Leopard!]

[Extracting... Extraction complete!]

[Please choose one of the following three entries]

[Balance (Purple): Balance your abilities, sacrificing some strengths to make up for weaknesses]

[Note: In Africa, we leopards might not be the strongest, but we’re definitely hexagon warriors! — African Leopard]

[Drag (Purple): You can easily drag prey weighing half your weight up a tree]

[Note: Hanging prey in a tree, eat whenever you want, isn’t it wonderful? — African Leopard]

[Wander (Blue): You enjoy wandering; staying in one place long-term makes you feel depressed]

[Note: What? You want to stay in one place till you die of old age? We leopards don’t like that! — African Leopard]

Please make a choice within one minute or forfeit! If overdue, the first entry will be selected automatically!

There wasn’t much choice for the leopard entries, so Chen Wen chose [Balance].

However, to his surprise, Leopard the First quickly accepted the goodwill and submitted to him.

Even faster than the communicative Leopard the Second.

Truly...

This territory is truly attractive to them!

Chen Wen thought.

But since he had already tamed this leopard, Chen Wen felt it didn’t matter whether he moved or not.

After all, leopards have a wandering characteristic.

They would only stay here for a few days before patrolling their territory.

Thus, Chen Wen effortlessly subdued Leopard the First without any loss.

Once Leopard the First acknowledged Chen Wen, Leopard the Second relaxed and recognized Chen Wen as well.

Over at Chen Wen’s side, the system chimed again.

[You have gained the recognition of a friend. Please extract the entry your friend has prepared for you]

[Your friend—the African Leopard, has prepared a gift for you]

[Extracting... Extraction complete!]

[Please choose one of the following three entries]

[Tree Ambush (Gold): You excel at launching ambushes from trees. When attacking from a tree, your scent is less likely to spread with the wind. Your core strength is boosted during attacks, allowing you to adjust your posture mid-air and reduce injury risk]

[Note: You seem adept at ambushes; this should help you — African Leopard]

[Jump (Purple): You excel at leaping, able to jump higher and farther]

[Note: This is my specialty; I hope you can learn it — African Leopard]

[Dexterity (Purple): Enhances your body control ability, allowing you to move more nimbly]

[Note: This will make you more agile! It’s also my specialty! — African Leopard]

The quality of friendship entries is exceptionally high, without exception.

Looking at the gold [Tree Ambush], Chen Wen couldn’t help but think.

If he were to live in a place with many animals again, then [Tree Ambush] would be a core entry.

He decisively chose Tree Ambush.

Chen Wen looked at Leopard the Second and said, ”Since we’re brothers now, I must tell you, try not to approach my room.”

Leopard the Second nodded slightly.

Even with its real brother, it would keep a distance from the other’s territory.

Let alone this newly acquainted plastic brother.

Chen Wen thought for a moment and felt arranging the two brothers this way was somewhat hasty.

So he spent twenty Inheritance Points to enable communication between the hippo and the leopards.

Currently, he had 57 Inheritance Points remaining.

Once communication was enabled, Chen Wen directly had the hippo chat with the leopards: ”You chat a bit, leopards. If you don’t understand something, ask the hippo; it’s been here longer.”

”Also, hippo, take them to the reeds area and try to keep them from appearing. Leopards, hide there for now. Let’s talk again in the evening.”

After speaking, Chen Wen left the two bewildered leopards and the hippo, planning to give the three animals some time to adjust.

Indeed, having fought each other fiercely just moments ago, the three animals suddenly became friends, which was quite hard for them to accept.
