Chapter 1049: Chapter 51: Doubts

The blinding sunlight at the base entrance made Su Xiao squint his eyes. If it were an ordinary person, staying long in a dark environment, such glaring sunlight would permanently damage their vision. However, Su Xiao’s eyes quickly adapted to the strong light.

With Samehada strapped on his back and the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki on his shoulder, Kisame stood at the base entrance. His mouth full of shark teeth was particularly striking, and behind Kisame stood a young woman.

The young woman was slightly slender, approximately 18.9 years old. Rough estimates put her height around 1.6 meters. When standing behind the 1.95-meter-tall Kisame, she appeared particularly petite.

The girl behind Kisame noticed Su Xiao observing her. She tilted her head and looked at Su Xiao. A few strands of hair slipped from her ear to her cheek, and her bright black eyes were like two black gems.

”Huh?”

The girl seemed surprised. From her expression, it seemed she had seen Su Xiao before.

At that moment, the young woman had somehow gotten an Akatsuki uniform. Coupled with her short hair reaching her neck and those gem-like black eyes, she appeared both pure, full of vitality, and mysteriously intriguing, though this mystique was hard to perceive.

”Kisame, where did you pick her up from?”

Su Xiao spoke, recognizing who this ’young woman’ was. She might already be an adult, but those clear eyes gave her a lively vibe. The last meeting was in the Iron Country, and this was a Worker sister.

Initially, when they first met, this Worker sister was being chased by samurai from the Iron Country, while Kisame was capturing the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki. How did the two meet? And from Kisame’s tone, they seemed to be familiar with each other.

”I encountered her when capturing the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki in the Iron Country. I had to search for a long time before finding this guy.”

Kisame gestured towards the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki, Killer Bee, on his shoulder. In fact, Kisame’s ability to capture the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki was greatly aided by Su Xiao. In the original story, when Kisame fought the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki, his weapon, Samehada, suddenly betrayed him.

Or rather, it wasn’t Samehada’s betrayal; during the battle, it wasn’t Kisame himself but a clone formed by Bai Jue, resembling Kisame and capable of using his abilities. Of course, this Bai Jue clone was controlled by Kisame. As for Kisame himself, he hid in a place no one anticipated, inside his Shinobi blade, Samehada.

Such actions reduced risks but also had downsides. When Kisame tried to control the Bai Jue clone to capture the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki, Killer Bee, Samehada suddenly ’betrayed’ him. The reason was that it preferred the Eight Tails’ Chakra, or to say, between Bai Jue and the Eight Tails, Samehada preferred the Eight Tails’ Chakra.

The situation left Kisame in a dilemma. Initially, he was trying to capture the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki; if he couldn’t, he would hide inside Samehada, letting the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki take Samehada away. This way, he could gather intelligence and find a better opportunity to capture the Eight Tails.

However, the opportunity at that time was better than Kisame imagined. Killer Bee was already very weak, prompting Kisame to end his fusion with Samehada, appearing suddenly. This sudden emergence of a second Kisame left Killer Bee stunned. He quickly realized it was a clone.

At that moment, the situation was such that Samehada, ’betraying’ Kisame, was in Killer Bee’s hand. With the real Kisame appearing, Samehada immediately attacked Killer Bee. It was a self-aware blade or more like an artificial life form.

Finding the situation unfavorable, Killer Bee tried to retreat quickly. His rap teacher was nearby, and Killer Bee feared Kisame would kill his rap teacher.

In terms of speed, Kisame wasn’t outstanding, but he excelled in endurance battles. The two engaged in a pursuit, fleeing for an extended period, eventually reaching the coastal area near the Iron Country. After traveling some distance on the sea, Killer Bee could return to Hidden Cloud Village’s territory.

Ninjas converge Chakra to their feet to traverse water, but long-distance travel across the sea is something most ninjas cannot sustain due to insufficient Chakra.

As the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki, Killer Bee lacked nothing in terms of Chakra. Though Kisame was also known for his Chakra reserves, continuing in such a manner against Killer Bee would lead to Kisame collapsing first, as he relied on Samehada to absorb enemy Chakra to lavishly expend Chakra.

Just as Killer Bee was about to escape, another chase team arrived. This pursuit team comprised a large group of samurai chasing a young woman, coincidentally recognized by Kisame, who knew she possessed a suitable ability for pursuing enemies.

Hence, Kisame aided the black-eyed Worker sister in fending off her pursuers, while the Worker sister assisted Kisame in chasing Killer Bee. As a result, Killer Bee reached the seaside, only to be caught by Kisame and ultimately defeated.

The reason Su Xiao was credited for Kisame capturing the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki was because Su Xiao killed the Fourth Raikage. In the original story, the Fourth Raikage went to assist Killer Bee, and the two brothers together instantly defeated the Kisame-like Bai Jue clone.

Kisame briefly recounted his process of capturing the Eight Tails.

”I initially intended to infiltrate Hidden Cloud Village, but capturing the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki was more important than infiltration.”

Kisame seemed rather exhausted and slightly dust-beaten, understandably so, as he had chased the Eight Tails Jinchuuriki nearly across the Iron Country.

”The correct choice.”

Obito agreed with Kisame’s actions.

”As for the new recruit you’re recommending, which rogue ninja village are they from?”

Obito, now the leader of the Akatsuki Organization, needed to approve Kisame’s recommendation of newcomers. However, this was just a formality, as the era was no longer led by Nagato. Obito himself understood that the only ones in Akatsuki who followed his orders entirely were merely Bai Jue. He needed logical reasons to issue commands to Kisame.

”A rogue ninja from Konoha Village, she is Perception Type. Her combat strength isn’t strong, but she possesses a very unique bloodline limit.”

Upon hearing Kisame mention a Bloodline Limit, Obito’s eyes gleamed. The Akatsuki Organization was in dire need of personnel.

In the brief exchange between Kisame and Obito, Su Xiao gathered some information. Firstly, this Worker sister wasn’t entering Naruto World for the first time. Previously, when she entered, she befriended Kisame and even opened a personal favorability system.

As for her identity as a ’Perception Ninja,’ it wasn’t surprising. Many Workers would choose to control some supportive abilities to seek protection from Contractors. Workers without supportive abilities would need to spend Paradise coins to hire protection.

However, what was puzzling was that this Worker sister had entered Naruto World twice, presenting two possibilities: either she was very unlucky, or she wasn’t a Worker at all, with other objectives.

The second possibility wasn’t high, as entering an open-world world was a significant leap. Would someone plot for so long just to disguise as a Worker, infiltrate Akatsuki? Moreover, few Contractors would disguise as Workers when entering Derivative Worlds, as it would bring numerous troubles.
