Chapter 1012: Chapter 14: Crushing Defeat

A Mu leapt down from a high place.

Rumble!

A circular pit appeared on the ground, filled with web-like cracks. After entering combat mode, A Mu’s eyes were blood-red, muscles knotted all over its body, with wisps of cold air wafting off the two horns pointing towards the sky.

At this moment, A Mu no longer appeared clumsy. Just standing there, it was like a steel-armored vehicle, seemingly unstoppable.

A Mu appeared, but the three from Raikage’s side were not surprised. Among them, Xi was a perception ninja.

”Is this a weapon cultivated by the Akatsuki Organization?”

Darui spoke lazily, raising his head to look towards Su Xiao above.

”Up there should be the Akatsuki Organization member Bai Ye. It’s said he attacked Konoha Village, doesn’t look like much.”

Darui chuckled.

”Don’t be careless, I can smell the blood on that guy from dozens of meters away. Surviving after attacking Konoha, he’s definitely no ordinary guy.”

Xi formed seals with his hands, perceiving the surrounding situation.

”Xi, according to the intel, there should also be a perception-type woman. Find her first. I’ll deal with Uchiha Sasuke and his associates. Darui, you’re responsible for holding off that bull and the Akatsuki member Bai Ye.”

”Understood.”

”Um.”

Xi and Darui began to move. Xi remained where he was, while Darui walked towards A Mu.

Raikage seemed aware that the situation was not good. He couldn’t be certain if Su Xiao seated up high would make a move, so when he stomped on the ground, the lightning shield armor around him visibly expanded by a size, his previously slicked-back hair stood on end like a hedgehog.

In most cases, Raikage would activate his body to about 10% to 20%, but now he activated it directly to 60%.

Woosh~

A piercing sound of the void breaking reached them; Raikage Ai vanished from his spot in an instant.

”Sasuke!”

Jugo shouted, immediately blocking in front of Sasuke.

Bam!

Blood splattered everywhere as Jugo’s upper body flew away, spewing blood from his mouth.

In mid-air, Jugo was still in a daze. Raikage was so fast that he had no idea what had happened. How could a body nearly two meters tall unleash such speed? What a joke.

With a thud, Jugo’s upper body hit the ground, landing in a pile of rubble. He turned his head to look at Raikage, who was maintaining a side-punching posture. It was that punch that split Jugo’s body in two. The thunder attribute not only gave Raikage terrifying speed but also imbued his side-punches with immense cutting power.

”Cough, cough...”

Jugo coughed up a few mouthfuls of blood, his gaze falling on several samurai corpses nearby.

Let’s not mention Jugo being almost killed instantly by Raikage; Raikage was now staring at Sasuke.

”My brother Bee is there.”

There seemed to be arcs of electricity flashing in Raikage’s eyes, while Sasuke’s pupils had constricted to their limit.

”Dead.”

Sasuke, though shocked by Raikage’s speed, uttered a sentence that drove Raikage into a fury.

”Dead?”

Raikage was momentarily stunned before returning to normal.

”Is that so.”

For some reason, Raikage regains his composure from anger. His body started activating at high speed, activating to 70%. It’s known that once activation surpasses 90%, his cells will exceed their load, leading to breakdown.

Raikage was truly angry. The intel he had received was that Sasuke had captured Killer Bee, and now he learned of Killer Bee’s death.

Sasuke falsely claimed Killer Bee was dead, thinking Jugo might have already died at Raikage’s hands, and he hoped to cause Raikage grief, leading to errors in battle.

Things didn’t go as planned. Raikage instantly accepted the news of Killer Bee’s death, turning grief into fury.

”Chidori Stream.”

Arcs spread from Sasuke’s feet as he gripped his long sword, forming seals with both hands swiftly.

”Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu.”

A small fireball emerged from Sasuke’s mouth, quickly growing into a five-meter-diameter big fireball, his most frequently used Fire Style.

The Fireball rushed towards Raikage, who vanished again, reappearing behind Sasuke.

In terms of speed, power, combat experience, and chakra level, Raikage completely overwhelmed Sasuke.

Sasuke’s black hair was blown back by the force generated by Raikage’s movement. He sensed Raikage behind him, yet Raikage’s punch was too fast.

At that moment, a surge of dark purple energy surged in Sasuke’s mind, penetrating his eyes. The three-hooked writing wheel eyes changed, with three magatama spinning, eventually forming a star-shaped pattern.

Sasuke had actually already awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, but he wasn’t proficient in using it, sometimes working, sometimes not. Yet at this life-and-death moment, Sasuke fully awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan.

Boom!

Raikage’s punch struck down, sending Sasuke flying, with a faint sound of bones breaking.

Another loud noise came as Sasuke was punched directly into the wall by Raikage, creating a concave pit several meters deep.

Sasuke stood up from the ground, unharmed, surrounded by a dark purple skeletal structure formed by energy, only covering the torso and both arms.

”Susanoo...”

Up high, Obito grew intrigued. Sasuke’s growth speed was somewhat beyond expectation; hatred is indeed a strong motivator.

”Bai Ye, aren’t you going to make a move?”

Obito seemed unwilling to let Sasuke die here.

”I’ve already made my move.”

Su Xiao pointed below at A Mu, who stood there, eyes fixed on Darui.

Obito seemed speechless, hesitating whether to use his leader status to command Su Xiao. But this leader status was clear to everyone; even though Obito claimed to be Uchiha Madara, he had no proof. Kisame, Deidara, and others weren’t exactly convinced of his identity.

The Akatsuki Organization had developed to the point of being semi-loosely organized. Nagato’s Rinnegan was genuine, but Obito’s identity as Uchiha Madara was merely a self-proclaimed title.

”Our plan this time is to assassinate the Shadow.”

Obito did not use his leader identity to command, fearing Su Xiao, who feared neither heaven nor earth, might defect from the Akatsuki Organization.

”Of course, after Uchiha Sasuke dies, I’ll take on Raikage. How long has it been since you took part in the Akatsuki’s tasks? I’m not clear on other squads’ movements, but in the Scorpion Squad, our style is one goes down, next one steps up.”

This time, Obito was somewhat at a loss for words. This was indeed the Scorpion Squad’s style.

”Sasori’s already dead.”

”So what? I’m still alive, and so is Deidara.”

Su Xiao lit a cigarette, watching the battle with interest. Regarding the Scorpion Squad he mentioned, it was merely to fend off Obito. Clearly, since Sasuke awakened the Mangekyo and could use Susanoo, his status in Obito’s eyes improved from a disposable pawn to a valuable asset.

Obito intended for Su Xiao to spare Sasuke, knowing Raikage was fully engaged, and Sasuke, who had just awakened the Mangekyo, was likely to die at Raikage’s hands.

Below, black flames burned fiercely. After using Susanoo and the Flame of Amaterasu, Sasuke engaged with Raikage with equal might. The Amaterasu’s damage was terrifying, and Raikage dared not confront it head-on.

Su Xiao’s message was clear: Obito needed to offer some benefits if he wanted him to deal with Raikage. Otherwise, he was having none of it.
