Chapter 1039: Chapter 41: The Frightened Second Protagonist

Su Xiao came to the battlefield of Sasuke and Danzo, not to watch, as he wasn’t interested in seeing others fight, he preferred being in the action himself. His real purpose for being here was to wait for Naruto Uzumaki.

He did indeed wait for Naruto, but unfortunately, there were also dozens of Contractors with Naruto.

Who knows what the strength of these Contractors is like; some might be very weak, while others very strong. Furthermore, whether Nagato revived Kakashi remains unknown, and Naruto himself isn’t weak in combat strength.

Calculating the time, Naruto Uzumaki should have mastered Sage Mode by now, which significantly boosts his combat strength. Moreover, he has the Nine-tails as a safety measure; in the Blast Eight-tails State, even Nagato would find it hard to subdue him.

”Team up to block them?”

Su Xiao looked at Obito, knowing full well that Obito currently has a formidable combat strength. Earlier, during a transaction with Obito, Obito acquired Kakashi’s Sharingan, so there’s a high chance Obito can use Susanoo.

”I’ll think about it.”

Obito didn’t refuse immediately. Instead, he squinted with that Sharingan, contemplating something. Su Xiao’s proposal wasn’t something Obito could easily dismiss, especially since Su Xiao helped the Akatsuki Organization kill two Kages a few hours ago.

”Maybe not, it drains too much pupil power, but...”

Obito glanced at Sasuke in the distance.

”He’s quite a good chess piece. Although he’s growing fast, it’s not fast enough.”

Obito clearly had his sights set on Sasuke again, which was quite troublesome for Sasuke, being constantly targeted by a cunning old fox like Obito.

”He can’t even stand steadily, it’s unlikely he can fight the pursuit squad.”

Su Xiao understood what Obito meant.

”Is it really impossible? The Uchiha Clan and the Hashirama Clan have deep ties. You’re an expert on Hashirama Cells, knowing them as well as Orochimaru.”

Obito kept his gaze on Sasuke in the distance.

”Not a bad suggestion.”

Su Xiao was intrigued by Obito’s suggestion. He no longer intended to directly confront Naruto. There were simply too many Contractors around him.

”You really have a way?”

Obito was a bit surprised.

”Let’s give it a shot. But his eyes might be rendered useless.”

”That’s not an issue. Given how he exhausts his pupil power, it’s only a matter of time before those eyes lose their light.”

The two reached an agreement, and Obito signaled Sasuke, who was in the distance.

”Sasuke, there’s something I want to discuss with you regarding the Konoha side.”

Hearing Obito’s voice, Sasuke hesitated for a moment. The keyword ’Konoha’ clearly caught his attention.

Sasuke quickly approached Obito, immediately noticing Shinfuru on A Mu’s back.

”Leave her to me. She’s my subordinate...”

Before Sasuke could finish his sentence, he suddenly felt something slide under his armpit, firmly locking his arm in place.

”You!”

Sasuke immediately realized that it was Obito who had ambushed him from behind, leaving him somewhat conflicted. He had abandoned Shinfuru before, and now, he might have to face the same fate.

Once Obito restrained Sasuke, Su Xiao walked up to Sasuke directly.

”Amaterasu!”

Sasuke’s eyes widened, his Mangekyo Sharingan glaring at Su Xiao, intending to engulf Su Xiao in the Flame of Amaterasu.

Whoosh~

A whooshing sound broke the silence, and Su Xiao appeared in front of Sasuke in an instant, delivering a hook punch to Sasuke’s jaw.

An echoing buzz filled Sasuke’s head. When his vision cleared, it was all blurred. Upon sensing, it wasn’t a problem with his eyesight, but that he had been fitted with a pair of nearsighted glasses, Shinfuru’s high-prescription glasses.

Normally sighted people would find their vision blurry and experience dizziness when they wear high-prescription glasses. Those from the Uchiha Clan, with their extremely strong vision, would experience even more pronounced side effects when fitted with nearsighted glasses.

The principle of Amaterasu is to ignite the black flame at the focal point, but now, with Sasuke’s impaired vision, he couldn’t use Amaterasu in a timely manner, unless he adapted to his current field of vision, which would take time.

”Sasuke, don’t worry. We’re just trying to help you heal. Considering you don’t trust us, we’ve taken these compulsory measures.”

Obito tried to persuade in a ’kind’ manner, but to no avail. Sasuke stubbornly attempted to activate Susanoo to break free from his restraints.

Bang!

Su Xiao punched Sasuke in the abdomen.

”Much more obedient now.”

Sasuke indeed calmed down. Already severely injured, he now took another blow from Su Xiao, but this wasn’t a full-strength punch. If it had been, Su Xiao could have punched through Sasuke’s stomach.

Su Xiao held a metal injection gun in his hand, containing a light green liquid.

”Consider yourself lucky.”

Su Xiao flicked the metal injection needle. Inside were refined Original Hashirama Cells, with a very short lifespan and activity lasting only for two hours, but without the risk of petrifaction, and no need for Chakra to suppress the cells. After two hours, these cells would rapidly decompose and be metabolized out of the body.

”What are you... planning?”

Sasuke panted heavily, struggling to lift his head and look at the injection gun in Su Xiao’s hand.

Su Xiao didn’t respond, pushing Sasuke’s head to the side, and injected the refined Hashirama Cells into Sasuke’s neck. Sasuke, who was more or less tough, only let out a muffled groan.

”All done.”

Su Xiao withdrew the injection gun from Sasuke’s neck and casually tossed it into the river.

Upon hearing this, Obito released Sasuke. Sasuke staggered back a few steps and was about to engage Su Xiao and Obito in battle when he realized something was off.

”Chakra is restoring, and pupil power is rapidly recovering too.”

Sasuke wasn’t a fool. He realized his body felt lighter, and a cooling sensation was coming from his burning eyeballs.

”Hand over the glasses.”

Su Xiao beckoned to Sasuke, who removed the glasses and tossed them to Su Xiao.

”You can fight to your heart’s content for two hours. During this time, your pupil power should recover at several times the speed, meaning you could even maintain Susanoo for two hours without issue.”

Su Xiao, Obito, and Bubu Wang walked into the forest.

”Why do this?”

Sasuke was visibly puzzled. He couldn’t figure out what the people from the Akatsuki Organization were aiming for, and he didn’t know the side effects of that potion or if it contained a type of chronic poison.

”The pursuit squad is yours to deal with. Just so you know, they’re Konoha people. Danzo is the first gift to you, and this is the second.”

Obito waved a hand dismissively at Sasuke with his back turned.

”Konoha’s pursuit squad...”

This time Sasuke understood what was happening, but he still had a lot of questions, like why the cells of the First Hokage Hashirama Senju could restore pupil power and even seemingly enhance the Sharingan.

In the forest, Su Xiao hadn’t gone far. Based on his calculations, Sasuke’s Susanoo should soon be able to evolve to the third form, sustaining a battle in this form for two hours.

Once Naruto and Sasuke meet, it’s obvious a battle will ensue, with Sasuke inevitably drawing the fire of many Contractors. The Naruto World will have two Children of Fate. Although present Sasuke isn’t yet the second Child of Fate, leaving him alive poses some risks. While those Contractors wouldn’t dare to directly kill Sasuke, the rewards for capturing him are substantial.

The dozens of Contractors had no idea that they were about to face Sasuke, who could now activate the third form of Susanoo. As if that wasn’t daunting enough, Sasuke could maintain it for a full two hours.

Hashirama Cells are powerful but come with side effects. After this battle, even if Sasuke doesn’t go blind, his Mangekyo Sharingan will be severely overexerted.
