Chapter 1021: Chapter 23: Surging Waves of Shock

”The Uchiha Clan has an ancient stele passed down through generations, which still exists underground in Konoha. It records secrets left by the Six Paths Sage. Without the Uchiha Clan’s pupil power, it cannot be read at all. The contents can be deciphered sequentially according to the Sharingan, Mangekyo Sharingan, and Rinnegan.”

Obito began narrating his plan, yet right from the start, he was interrupted by the Tsuchikage.

”This story is truly bizarre, even the Six Paths Sage is involved.”

”The Six Paths Sage indeed exists...”

Obito did not care whether the Four Shadows believed him or not.

”The Six Paths Sage once saved the world from a certain monster. As for that monster, you have all seen parts of it, which are the Tailed Beasts. In the era of the Six Paths Sage, there was only one Tailed Beast, and that was the Ten-Tails.”

”Ten-Tails? This is getting more ridiculous.”

Mei Terumī also seemed unable to accept Obito’s words.

”The One to Nine Tails you know now are merely divisions of the Ten-Tails, dispersed by the Six Paths Sage. To save the world, the Six Paths Sage developed a Ninjutsu that is still secretly passed down today, which is the Jinchuriki sealing system. Yes, the Six Paths Sage was once the Ten-Tails’ Jinchuriki himself.

To suppress the Ten-Tails, he sealed it within himself. However, the Six Paths Sage knew that despite being called a god, he would one day die, and after his death, the Ten-Tails would once again bring disaster to the world. So, he used his last strength before dying to divide the Ten-Tails’ Chakra into nine parts, dispersing them across the land. These are now the nine Tailed Beasts.

Although the Ten-Tails’ Chakra was dispersed, its shell remained. Therefore, the Six Paths Sage sent it to a place humans could not reach, the sky, where it became the moon.”

Obito’s tone was calm, while the Four Shadows listened speechlessly, seeing Obito as merely spouting nonsense. However, the facts were quite close; the Ten-Tails did indeed exist.

”Having said this, you should understand my purpose in capturing the Tailed Beasts. Yes, I want to resurrect the Ten-Tails and become its Jinchuriki to enhance my pupil power and then perform a certain technique.”

Obito essentially revealed his overall plan. It was indeed his real plan, though it’s hard to understand why he would announce it on the eve of battle—did becoming a villain lower his IQ?

But that wasn’t the case. Obito wanted to gather the ninja from the Five Great Shinobi Villages because activating the Moon’s Eye requires immense Chakra. Even with the Ten-Tails’ enhancement, his Chakra level was still insufficient. Madara had told him this previously; how Madara knew this information traces back to the Uchiha Clan’s stele, as Madara had awakened the Rinnegan and learned all the stele’s secrets.

”A certain technique? What are you planning to do?”

The Tsuchikage always grasped the key points of information.

”By reflecting my pupil technique onto the moon, I will cast a grand illusion, Infinite Tsukuyomi, applying an illusion on everyone in the world. I will control all humans with the illusion to unify the world, creating a world without barriers and conflicts; this is the Moon’s Eye plan.”

Actually, there was a sentence Obito didn’t say: he wanted to create a world where Nohara Rin was still alive.

Such sentiments driven by the longing for a lost first love to affect the entire world aren’t very common.

Upon hearing Obito’s plan, the Four Shadows simultaneously had one thought: either this guy had delusions or he was just someone attempting world domination.

Recalling the past actions of the Akatsuki Organization, it seemed more likely that Obito wanted to dominate the world.

”This is utterly ridiculous; making everyone live in an illusion—how is that different from death?”

”Living in such a world is meaningless, with no hope or freedom.”

”The so-called unification of the world is simply about turning the world into your possession, isn’t it?”

The Four Shadows’ stance was clear; they would oppose Obito to the end.

”Hehe.”

Obito gave a cold laugh, having already anticipated this reaction.

”So, are you prepared to hand over the remaining two Tailed Beasts?”

”Two?”

The Tsuchikage was taken aback, then thought of something.

”Isn’t the Eight Tails already in your hands?”

”No, it escaped. I must say, the Eight-Tails is a very perfect Jinchuriki.”

”The Raikage... died due to incorrect information.”

Gaara sighed. If not for his brother being captured, the Raikage wouldn’t have pursued Sasuke, which led to encountering Su Xiao and ultimately dying in battle.

”Impossible.”

”Don’t even think about capturing the remaining two Jinchuriki.”

The Four Shadows resolutely refused.

”Very well, then the Fourth Ninja World War... is declared as of now!”

Obito’s tone remained calm; at this moment, Su Xiao received a prompt from Reincarnation Paradise.

[Prompt: The Hunter has participated in the declaration of the Fourth Ninja World War.]

[Inspecting which side the Hunter is in...]

[Faction: Declarer.]

[Calculating the Hunter’s contribution in this event...]

[Calculation complete, the Hunter’s contribution to this event is: 18.2%.]

[Due to the Fourth Ninja World War being an important turning point in the Naruto World, this event is an S-Level event.]

[Contributions being collected... Upon completing the collection, the Hunter will be rewarded accordingly.]

[Note, the Hunter can choose one from the following rewards; if no selection is made within 30 seconds, one will be chosen at random.]

A. Achievement task ’Sky Predator’ task completion increased by 15%, current Sky Predator task completion is 40%.

B. Title: Warlord (Note, Title type equipment can only be obtained in plot events or arena rewards.)

C. 1 True Attribute Point.

...

These three kinds of rewards made it difficult for Su Xiao to choose; Sky Predator is a major task, and only by killing plot protagonists can the task completion increase.

As for the title, Su Xiao once acquired the King of Arena title, which was useful as it increased attributes.

The C reward’s 1 True Attribute Point is equally tempting as the main task reward is only 2 True Attribute Points, making the C reward equivalent to half the main task’s benefit.

With limited time, after hesitating for a moment, Su Xiao chose the A reward.

The achievement task: the reward from Sky Predator must be quite substantial, considering he has done tasks in many worlds, advancing from First Tier to Third Tier, yet only gained a 40% completion rate; plot protagonists are truly hard to kill, especially the ’Child of Fate’ type protagonists. Such protagonists cannot simply be killed with combat strength required to kill the protagonist; if it goes wrong, he might endure a rebound from the Derivative World, along with pursuit from many plot characters.

Su Xiao once received a task in the Pirate World, the task was called ’Legend’s Throat Killer’, and its contents were simple: to kill the young Luffy. The difficulty was as high as Level 79.

Su Xiao at that time did not understand what the Level 79 difficulty entailed. To this day, he roughly understands the meaning of Level 79; after killing the young Luffy, he would not only face the pursuit by Garp, Monkey D. Dragon but also endure the rebound from this large, open Pirate World.

Of course, not all protagonists are the Son of the World like Kaneki Ken in Ghoul World or Eren in Giant World. Although they are protagonists, they are not genuine Sons of the World.

Luffy surely is a Son of the World. If Su Xiao killed the ’biological son’ of that world, would that world ever spare Su Xiao? It would certainly be as if in an invincible version of Final Destination, being struck by lightning would be a daily occurrence; facing such a large, open world, a task difficulty of Level 79 is quite common.

Up to now, Su Xiao hasn’t heard of any Contractor who survived after killing the Son of the World, although this may relate to his Tier Position being only Third Tier.

Su Xiao once heard something in Xiana, which was about a Fourth-tier Contractor using a Special Item to enter the Bleach World, at a time when Ichigo Kurosaki was still young.

That Contractor did not dare to directly kill Ichigo Kurosaki; he used an Ability to poison Ichigo Kurosaki. The result was Ichigo Kurosaki dying from the poison and dropping a Treasure Chest of unknown quality.

Just as that Contractor was joyfully preparing to pick up the Treasure Chest, he was struck and killed by a meteorite that descended from the sky, with a diameter of 28,000 meters entirely made from metal of extreme hardness.

Therefore, until Su Xiao’s strength is sufficiently advanced, he will not attempt to directly kill a Son of the World. Of course, this doesn’t mean he cannot eliminate a Son of the World; plot characters killing a Son of the World won’t result in a rebound. However, Su Xiao won’t gain any completion for the ’Sky Predator’ task by doing so.
