Chapter 1028: Chapter 30: Deadly Steam

It seems that Hōzuki Susuki is entirely like a younger version of the Second Mizukage. Not only that, after using Steam Danger Tyranny, the Second Mizukage would temporarily hide because the caster becomes quite weak.

The principle of Steam Danger Tyranny is as follows: the caster separates the fat and moisture within their body to form a child clone. Thus, the child clone is not energy but a mass of biological fat and water.

Extracting such amounts of fat and water from the body explains why one-third of Hōzuki Susuki’s Chakra is directly consumed, yet Hōzuki Susuki isn’t weak. On the contrary, he can use the Water Cannon Sky Practice Bomb to attack Su Xiao from long range.

”It seems we’re almost there.”

Hōzuki Susuki exhaled deeply, his cheeks visibly sunken, a side effect of losing moisture in a short time.

”Not good.”

Su Xiao turned and rushed into the distance.

”Hidden Mist Technique, explode!”

Hōzuki Susuki shouted loudly as the child clone, already swelling to five meters in size, exploded.

Boom!

Scalding hot steam spread out, causing a steam explosion that affected the surrounding 200 meters.

The explosion isn’t Steam Danger Tyranny’s most perplexing aspect. The most perplexing is that sharp weapons cannot be used to attack the child clone, or it will immediately explode, and at close range. Su Xiao’s intuition had sensed this long ago, which is why he never used Dragon Slash to attack the child clone, instead probing with Blue Steel Shadow.

Hōzuki Susuki is the disciple of the Second Mizukage, Hozuki Phantom Moon. If he were to duel Mei Terumī, Mei Terumī wouldn’t be his match; his Steam Danger Tyranny is stronger than the Second Mizukage’s!

In the forest, steam rose, melting all the snow within 200 meters. Sparks were faintly visible on the trees; due to the excessive humidity, black smoke rose into the sky.

At the moment of Steam Danger Tyranny’s explosion, the spreading steam reached temperatures of at least around 800 degrees, far surpassing ordinary steam temperatures.

Even when the Second Mizukage used Steam Danger Tyranny, it couldn’t achieve such terrifying high temperatures during the steam explosion. The water within the child clone is just ordinary water from the human body.

Yet Hōzuki Susuki achieved it. The reason the steam explosion had such terrifying temperatures wasn’t that he improved Steam Danger Tyranny, but because he combined it with a Ninjutsu called Hidden Mist Technique.

The Hidden Mist Technique is the most common Ninjutsu in the Hidden Mist Village, a technique that uses Chakra to create water, which is then evaporated to form mist containing Chakra. This technique is used to create a foggy environment to stealthily attack enemies in the fog.

Ordinary steam doesn’t reach 800 degrees, but steam containing Chakra? It’s entirely feasible.

It sounds simple, but Hōzuki Susuki spent nearly ten years achieving this.

A puddle of water on the ground boiled and quickly rose to form a humanoid shape—Hōzuki Susuki.

”Phew～”

Hōzuki Susuki exhaled a large breath of hot air, his palms joined together as the surrounding hot steam gathered, forming a smiling face on the mass of steam, gradually shrinking in size.

Plip, plip...

Grain-sized ice cubes fell from the sky, formed from alternating hot and cold temperatures.

The surrounding temperature gradually decreased, and the child clone’s size quickly shrunk back to 1.2 meters, hovering mid-air.

”The climate really suits battle, Steam Danger Tyranny has quickly shrunk back to its initial explosive size.”

Hōzuki Susuki’s skin was somewhat reddened from the high temperature. Although he used Water Transformation to absorb the impact from Steam Danger Tyranny, the high temperature affected him—this is the cost of enhancing Steam Danger Tyranny.

The Second Mizukage can use Steam Danger Tyranny nearly limitlessly, but Hōzuki Susuki can only use it ten times. After ten times, the high temperature begins to damage his brain and organs. He has never thought of avoiding the explosion earlier; he wouldn’t assume the enemy is foolish.

Bang.

Soil splattered, and a large pit appeared on the slippery ground. A figure walked out from the pit—it was Su Xiao, with counter shields floating around him.

At the moment of Steam Danger Tyranny’s explosion, Su Xiao cut out a deep pit on the ground with dozens of blade auras, then jumped in, using a kick to collapse it, burying himself under the soil to resist the high temperature.

The counter shields could block part of the high temperatures, but since it’s not a single piece, the powerful impact from the explosion allowed hot steam to spray in through the gaps.

Su Xiao emerged from the pit, the counter shields around him spreading out, the scorching temperature within dissipating. The fine sweat on his face evaporated in the cold air.

”A clever solution, but... can you always manage it so quickly?”

Hōzuki Susuki waved his hand, and the child clone charged at Su Xiao. This thing was exceptionally unpleasant; a cleave would cause it to explode immediately, splashing with hot oil. Ignoring it was also unwise—its movement rapidly accumulates heat, increasing its size, producing more steam. Once the steam content reaches a critical point, it explodes.

The power of Steam Danger Tyranny doesn’t lie in the explosion; its outer layer of fat means there’s not intense pressure inside it. The terror of Steam Danger Tyranny lies in the high temperature of the steam at the moment of explosion.

Fortunately, Steam Danger Tyranny doesn’t explode consecutively, at least not when the Second Mizukage uses it. Each explosion requires a period of heat accumulation, providing Su Xiao with the best chance to defeat Hōzuki Susuki.

Su Xiao has already gathered intelligence on the enemy and can finally engage the enemy up close safely. But time is pressing, as A Mu won’t last much longer, and the heat aggregation period for Steam Danger Tyranny is short.

Just as Su Xiao prepared to charge at Hōzuki Susuki, his pupils shrank.

Su Xiao reacted this way because the child clone swelled to five meters in size in just three seconds—the critical point of a steam explosion.

”Ignoring heat accumulation time...”

Su Xiao immediately controlled the counter shield to wrap around himself. Just as he planned to cut out a pit on the ground with blade aura, the child clone already exploded.

”Hidden Mist Technique.”

Hōzuki Susuki used Hidden Mist Technique while already in water transformation.

Pff～

Boom!

Steam exploded and spread, instantly covering a 200-meter range. Trees surrounded by hot steam were covered in bright red spots, sparks formed by tree bark igniting at high temperatures, but the trees wouldn’t catch fire due to the high humidity.

The 800-degree steam wrapped the counter shield within it. The forest fell deathly silent.

When the steam’s temperature dropped to around 100 degrees, Hōzuki Susuki in water transformation sealed again, his footsteps staggering slightly.

Steam rapidly gathered, and the giant smile within it appeared fierce.

”Water clone.”

Hōzuki Susuki split into five ordinary water clones, intending to use them to forcibly cool down Steam Danger Tyranny for a quick restart of the steam explosion.

The five water clones rushed towards Steam Danger Tyranny, directly colliding with it, clear water splashing around, the icy water causing Steam Danger Tyranny to shrink quickly.

”Three more times should be enough to kill him.”
