Chapter 1008: Chapter 10: The Eve

After the Akatsuki Organization arrived in the Iron Country, they dispersed into four groups.

Su Xiao, Bubu Wang, and A Mu remained on the outskirts of Snow wind Mountain, Su Xiao was waiting for the right moment, entering the tower inside Snow wind Mountain now was unwise.

Er Zhuzi, Bai Jue, Shinfuru, Hōzuki Water Moon, and Jugo had already infiltrated the tower within Snow wind Mountain, waiting for the arrival of the Five Shadows.

Deidara was manipulating a clay bird, hovering in mid-air, standing on its back. In this snowy weather, the enemy had little chance of spotting him.

Obito was also on the outskirts of Snow wind Mountain, waiting for the opportunity.

The cold wind howled, a snow sled stopped in the snow, already half-buried by the falling snow.

Su Xiao leaned against the snow sled, snow had accumulated on top of him. He glanced at Bubu Wang and A Mu, who were having a ’staring contest’.

Bubu Wang and A Mu glared at each other, four eyes locked tightly, as if lightning surged between the gaze of a dog and a bull.

Bubu Wang’s eyes tried to widen, bloodshot and strained, two dog paws propped against his lower eyelids.

A Mu glared back with bull eyes, two sturdy fingers prying open his eyelids, tears streaming down.

About twenty minutes earlier, Bubu Wang, bored, sought out A Mu, inviting him for ’a joyful match’, the content being a staring contest, whoever blinked first would eat 50 pounds of snow.

The two had been staring at each other for a full 20 minutes. Compared to A Mu’s terrifying 85 points of stamina attribute, Bubu Wang was clearly not going to last, like an egg against a rock.

About 30 minutes later, Bubu Wang’s dog eyes rolled back, shutting tight, he could no longer hold on.

”Ho ho ho.”

A Mu’s fists pounded his chest, resembling a large gorilla, Bubu Wang hung his head, eyes full of tears, beginning to munch on snow, aiming to eat 50 pounds, no one dare stop him.

As Bubu Wang tearfully munched on snow, a vortex-like spatial fluctuation appeared, a twisted figure emerged from within the vortex. When the spatial vortex disappeared, the figure returned to normal, standing on the snow.

Crunch.

Snow crunched underfoot, leaving two footprints, the newcomer was Obito, his intentions unclear.

”You seem quite leisurely.”

Obito walked forward slowly, eyeing Bubu Wang with some confusion, as if unable to understand why he was eating snow.

”Ugh~”

Bubu Wang burped, water stains appeared at his mouth, he had already eaten nearly 20 pounds of snow.

”Do you expect me to be like Sasuke? To directly ambush inside the venue of the Five Shadow Summit?”

Su Xiao side-eyed Obito, who chuckled, knowing Su Xiao wouldn’t enter the venue like Sasuke.

”I plan to take this opportunity to declare war on the Five Great Shinobi Villages.”

Obito looked towards the distant Snow wind Mountain, lost in thought.

”So soon?”

Su Xiao didn’t quite understand why Obito was declaring war now. In the original, Obito only had the ability to confront the Five Great Shinobi Villages after receiving help from Orosboro.

”It’s just a declaration, not an immediate war. Besides, even without the declaration, the result remains the same. You might have already thought of the purpose of this Five Shadow Summit.”

Obito sighed, reluctant about the timing of this declaration, feeling pressed for time.

Su Xiao instantly grasped Obito’s meaning, the reason for holding the Five Shadow Summit was mainly due to the villages losing the Tailed Beasts; in such a situation, sitting down for discussions was wise, secondly, to unite against Akatsuki.

The Akatsuki Organization indeed committed numerous misdeeds, initially similar to a rogue ninja mercenary group. Except for the Hidden Cloud Village, the other villages had all hired the Akatsuki Organization to replace them in war.

The Hidden Cloud Village was instrumental in Akatsuki’s rise.

Though seemingly unrelated, the Hidden Cloud Village was actually a martial faction that didn’t believe in Akatsuki, hence never hired them.

Yet, over the past decade, the Hidden Cloud Village had rapidly expanded, searching for ninjutsu and demanding high ’military fees’ from the Daimyo of The Land of Thunder. The Daimyo refused to pay, so the Hidden Cloud Village independently developed ninjutsu technology, boosting their finances.

In this relatively peaceful situation, the Daimyo of the Five Great Nations began to reduce funding for their ninja villages, weakening them. Ninjas, uninterested in production, were costly killing machines in peace, yet the backbone during war, so the Daimyo could only slightly reduce funding.

This led to a situation where the combat strength of Konoha, Sand Village, Hidden Mist, and Iwagakure weakened, while the Hidden Cloud Village rapidly expanded.

The other four villages, forced and helpless, could only adopt cheaper means against the Hidden Cloud Village, and Akatsuki was the best choice, costing only the training of 2-3 Chunins per job, enticing the four great villages.

Thus, the rise of Akatsuki was heavily aided by the Hidden Cloud Village.

The current situation is that once the Five Shadow Summit begins, regardless of the outcome, they’ll reach a consensus: to eradicate Akatsuki.

In this situation, whether Obito declares war or not hardly impacts the subsequent plans; rather than waiting for the enemy to strike first, he chooses to be proactive, asserting their momentum.

The Five Shadow Summit is unstoppable, completely annihilating the Five Shadows is impossible, the alliance of the Five Great Shinobi Villages against Akatsuki has become inevitable.

Obito’s plan now is to find a way to kill one or two Shadows, then immediately declare war, causing chaos among the Five Great Shinobi Villages.

The intention of the Five Great Shinobi Villages is clear since Akatsuki captured so many Tailed Beasts, thus whether to declare war now isn’t critical; furthermore, declaring war does not equal starting a war, Akatsuki’s major advantage is operating from the shadows while their adversaries are exposed.

The timing of the battle isn’t decided by the Five Great Shinobi Villages but by the Akatsuki Organization.

”Then let’s declare war, but...”

Su Xiao’s voice lowered, Obito’s eyes narrowed.

”This...”

Obito seemed hesitant.

”Alright.”

Obito and Su Xiao reached a consensus, beginning a cold and tedious wait.

...

A day later, within the tower at the center of Snow wind Mountain.

This tower is ancient, construction dating back to the early days of the Iron Country.

The old tower does not appear outdated, occupying a large area, roughly the size of a football field. Deceptive in design, resembling a pyramid with a large base and pointed top.

The Iron Country, as the host, set the Five Shadow Summit on the sixth floor of the tower, which is the highest, displaying hospitality and preventing accidents.

The tower, built of sturdy rock, resembles a war fortress, internally complex. Unfamiliarity here can lead to getting lost even with maps.
