Chapter 1003: Chapter 5: The Whereabouts of the Rinnegan

Black and White Zetsu arrived, Su Xiao had already sensed them, but he didn’t show it.

”Welcome back to the Akatsuki Organization.”

Black and White Zetsu moved among the trees, actively speaking.

”Who’s the leader now?”

Su Xiao kicked aside a large patch of developing cell clones by his foot.

”Hey, don’t treat my spore clones like that...”

”Shut up.”

Black Zetsu interrupted White Zetsu.

”Ah Fei is the leader.”

”Ah Fei? Is he still using that identity now?”

Su Xiao stepped forward towards Black and White Zetsu.

”Almost forgot, you are his collaborator, the current leader is Uchiha Madara.”

Black Zetsu’s thinking was clearly more agile.

”Oh dear, revealing Madara’s identity so easily, is that really okay?”

White Zetsu appeared quite surprised, although he was actually helping Obito disguise his identity.

”It’s fine, Bai Ye already knew this secret before.”

Black Zetsu’s single eye looked at Su Xiao, he and White Zetsu were currently sharing a body.

Su Xiao quietly watched as Black and White Zetsu performed their double act, the identity of Uchiha Madara that Obito was disguising as should hold for a long time until the real Madara appeared.

”Just in time for the capture of the Eight-Tails to be completed, the other members have already gathered and are discussing how to seal the Eight-Tails.”

Black and White Zetsu gestured for Su Xiao to follow, it was time to head to the new headquarters of the Akatsuki, located within the Country of Fire’s borders.

”Nagato is dead, his body’s whereabouts are unknown, without the Rinnegan the Gedo Statue cannot be summoned, nor can the Eight-Tails be sealed.”

White Zetsu’s tone was somewhat regretful.

”Then what’s the point of capturing Tailed Beasts?”

Of course, Su Xiao knew what Obito wanted to continue capturing Tailed Beasts for, the answer was that Obito wanted to transplant the Rinnegan.

Although Obito had now recovered his original eye, he still needed the Rinnegan, without it, his future plans were pointless.

Transplanting the Rinnegan requires two conditions, one is having the Uchiha Clan’s Bloodline Limit, the other is possessing the strong life force of the Senju Clan. Only with both can the Rinnegan be used without side effects.

Nagato had neither the Uchiha Bloodline Limit nor the Senju Clan’s life force, he relied on the strong life force of the Uzumaki Clan, ultimately becoming emaciated.

”There’s only one person who knows the whereabouts of the Rinnegan, and that’s Konan, that woman has disappeared without a trace.”

Black Zetsu’s tone was somber, the plan couldn’t continue which made him quite dissatisfied.

”What a coincidence, I saw Konan a day ago.”

”What!”

This time even Black Zetsu couldn’t remain calm, Konan was now a crucial part of the plan, without being able to seal all nine Tailed Beasts into the Gedo Statue to resurrect the Ten-Tails, everything was empty talk.

This so-called plan was a bit complex because it was a plan of three people: Uchiha Obito, Uchiha Madara, and Black Zetsu.

The emotional Uchiha Obito wanted to unleash Infinite Tsukuyomi to let everyone live in an Illusion World, creating a world with Nohara Rin, which was essentially the Moon’s Eye Plan.

Uchiha Madara’s plan was also the Moon’s Eye, to create a world without war, he was using Obito, who in this plan, was a sacrifice to resurrect Uchiha Madara.

Black Zetsu’s plan was also the Moon Eye Plan, his ultimate goal was to resurrect Kaguya Otsutsuki, his mother, and he was using both Obito and Madara.

The plans of the three were identical in the initial, middle, and later stages, only the ultimate stage differed.

The Rinnegan, Ten-Tails, and Moon’s Eye, these were the common elements of their plans.

The plan was now stuck on the Rinnegan, it’s no wonder that Black Zetsu was anxious, he had been laying things out for too long, this was the best opportunity.

Interestingly, Su Xiao’s main task was actually related to the Moon’s Eye Plan, his objective was to incite the Ninja World War. If Obito’s side couldn’t produce the Ten-Tails, the Ninja World War wouldn’t start at all.

”You saw Konan? Why didn’t you bring her back?”

White Zetsu’s tone already had a hint of interrogation.

”It didn’t make sense.”

”How could it not make sense...”

”Shut up!”

Black Zetsu said sharply, White Zetsu was somewhat resentful, but he also obediently shut his mouth.

”That was the right choice, Bai Ye isn’t proficient in illusion techniques, nor does he have the Sharingan, he couldn’t get information from Konan. Not to mention Konan’s strength, even if Bai Ye subdued her, on the way back she might very well take her own life.”

Black Zetsu was evidently much more experienced than White Zetsu, and he understood, Su Xiao was not the kind of reasonable person, dare to question him, and this man would dare to draw his sword.

”Now Konan’s exact location can no longer be determined, to get the whereabouts of the Rinnegan from her, only Uchiha Madara can do it.”

Su Xiao leapt through the trees, considering the future developments of the situation.

About three hours later, Su Xiao and Black and White Zetsu arrived at a grassy field, without any visible movements from Black and White Zetsu, a large stone on the ground slid aside, revealing a dark hole, inside was a downward stone stairway.

Seeing this entrance, Bubu Wang felt a bit speechless, his small eyes seemed to say, ”Even if it’s an underground force, you don’t have to build the base underground, it’s too damp underground. Too many bugs.”

Black and White Zetsu descended the stone steps into the depths, Su Xiao looked at A Mu, after a moment of realization, A Mu understood his meaning and began to step downwards, Su Xiao and Bubu Wang following closely.

Even though Su Xiao was now a member of the Akatsuki Organization and had a cooperative relationship with Obito, he would never completely trust Obito, just as Obito would never completely trust him.

After going underground, Su Xiao found it had been built into an underground base, fully equipped with basic facilities, living here for a few months wouldn’t be a problem.

Bang!

An explosion echoed from deeper in the base, causing dust to fall from the ceiling.

”Deidara, that guy is going to blow up the base sooner or later.”

White Zetsu laughed.

As they gradually moved deeper into the base, a red-haired girl with black-framed glasses walked towards them, her cheeks flushed, holding a white shirt in her hand while giggling foolishly.

The red-haired girl heard footsteps ahead, instinctively raised her head, and made eye contact with Su Xiao.

”Huh~”

The red-haired girl took three steps back quickly, the fangirl expression on her face disappearing, her body started to stiffen.

Su Xiao brushed past the red-haired girl, and after he’d walked far away, the girl’s somewhat limp body leaned against the wall, her name was Karin, currently a member of the Eagle Squad, which was under Uchiha Sasuke.

Karin was very afraid of Su Xiao, an inherent fear, she had almost died at Su Xiao’s hands several times and had been held hostage by him multiple times. Those are memories Karin couldn’t bear to recall, she had seriously suspected it was the end of her life.

Moreover, if Su Xiao was injured, he would of course use her healing ability, which meant biting her, always choosing areas without existing tooth marks, side of her chest, and back of her shoulder and so on, even now, Su Xiao’s bite marks linger.

Originally, Karin thought Su Xiao had already died in Konoha, she nearly cried tears of joy. Now, Su Xiao appeared in front of her, and there was some change in his aura, as a perception type she could capture Su Xiao’s aura changes.

If previously in Karin’s senses Su Xiao was ferocious, then now there was a faint scent of blood, and Karin couldn’t imagine how many people he’d killed to have an aura that contained the scent of blood.

The bloodstained aura on Su Xiao now was something he couldn’t help; it was gathered from the War World where he’d fought. On the battlefield with hundreds of thousands of people, if he didn’t kill madly, he would be the one dying.

”Since we’re all members of the Akatsuki, it should...be okay.”

Karin forcibly reassured herself, and with a bitter face, headed inside the base.

...

Inside the underground base’s conference room, around a square stone table.

Obito in his whirlpool-patterned mask sat at the head, alongside were Black and White Zetsu, Deidara, and Kisame Hoshigaki.

Su Xiao also sat at the stone table, looking into Obito’s eyes.

Obito’s hands were crossed, his elbows resting on the stone table.

”Congratulations on your narrow escape, with your help, the plans will proceed much smoother from now on.”

Obito’s tone carried a slight chuckle.

”Oh? How do you know I will help you, the previous leader was Nagato after all.”

Su Xiao lit a cigarette, although his gaze was on Obito, he was actually observing the expression changes of the others.

Ignoring Black and White Zetsu, Kisame laughed, showing a mouth full of shark-like fangs, and Deidara was also laughing, between Obito and Su Xiao, Deidara trusted Su Xiao more.

Indeed, Deidara trusted Su Xiao more, Su Xiao, Sasori, and Deidara had once carried out missions together, attacking the Sand Hidden Village head-on to seize the One-Tail, then battling one of the Three Ninja, Jiraiya, and facing the Konoha Chase team, to say they shared life and death together wasn’t an exaggeration, and as for Obito? He’d always been pretending to be Ah Fei, acting dumb.
