Chapter 1041: Chapter 43: The Ferocious No. 2 Dummy

The unexpected increase in personal favorability left Su Xiao surprised, possibly due to him saving Shinfuru’s life. Just then, another prompt appeared.

[Prompt: The Hunter’s servant, Bubute Ni, has activated the personal favorability of the character Shinfuru.]

[Prompt: Due to Bubute Ni’s high Charm Attributes, which is 1.44 times higher than the character Shinfuru, the maximum favorability limit has been increased by 30 points, making the maximum limit 130.]

[Current Favorability: 72 points (Bubute Ni).]

...

Seeing the second prompt, Su Xiao instinctively looked at Bubu Wang, only to see Bubu Wang raising its head and using its paw to tidily groom the fur on its head — the visual impact was strong.

Su Xiao chose to ignore the second prompt. He began checking the personal favorability with Shinfuru. From these favorability prompts, he gleaned some important information.

First of all, his favorability with Shinfuru wasn’t about winning Shinfuru’s affection; the most crucial function of favorability was to understand whether Shinfuru had already betrayed him.

Judging from the data, the highest personal favorability between Su Xiao and Shinfuru is 80, which means Shinfuru will not be absolutely loyal to Su Xiao, after all, Shinfuru is quite afraid of him.

The good news is that because Shinfuru is quite afraid of Su Xiao, as long as Shinfuru’s personal favorability is above or equal to 2 points, Shinfuru will not betray. This is good news.

Su Xiao always had a notion: if Charm Attributes are insufficient, then put a blade to the character’s throat. It seems he has achieved this now.

A favorability upper limit of 80 and lower limit of 2 already says it all. Su Xiao effectively put the ’blade’ on Shinfuru’s throat.

Su Xiao glanced at Shinfuru and couldn’t help but remember the guy who first opened the favorability meter — a goblin named Nicholas Caesar.

Thinking about Caesar, an image immediately popped into Su Xiao’s mind: a face sneering with yellow teeth and lewd smile, slightly eye-searing.

Shinfuru is obviously much more pleasant to the eye than Caesar, and there won’t be those drastic mood swings in favorability that could give someone a heart attack with Caesar.

Negotiating with Caesar, a favorability of 95 points could drop to 0 with just a simple word; but Caesar’s favorability seems to have no bottom limit, much like his integrity.

Shinfuru has a limit, and that’s 1 point. If favorability reaches 1 point, then Shinfuru will betray.

”Let me make it clear if you disclose my information to anyone, it won’t be as simple as just killing you.”

Shinfuru nodded immediately.

[Prompt: Shinfuru’s favorability -2, current favorability: 10 points.]

After receiving this prompt, Su Xiao squinted his eyes and gazed silently at Shinfuru.

One minute, two minutes, five minutes passed.

[Prompt: Shinfuru’s favorability +12, current favorability: 22.]

Shinfuru felt very anxious under Su Xiao’s stare, restless, having thrown aside the previous dissatisfaction in her heart.

Su Xiao didn’t care about Shinfuru’s thoughts; he only needed to confirm one thing: that during his stay in the Naruto World, Shinfuru wouldn’t betray him.

Looking at the current situation, Shinfuru might run away, but the likelihood of her betrayal is low, after all, she doesn’t want to die.

After settling the Shinfuru affair, Su Xiao began waiting for news from Obito.

Obito had already sent Bai Jue to monitor Sasuke’s actions. If Sasuke had the upper hand against Konoha’s pursuing troops, then Su Xiao and Obito would enter and annihilate Konoha’s chasing forces. If Sasuke didn’t have the advantage, they would play it by ear.

If Sasuke was up against ninjas, the likelihood of him having the upper hand was high, but it was a different story against Contractors. Contractors have diverse abilities, and there might even be one capable of countering Sasuke.

...

Near Stone Bridge.

Boom!

Dust erupted everywhere, and an immense purple phantom stood on the river, with blood stains diluted by the river visible on the river’s surface.

A massive purple energy enveloped Sasuke. His Susanoo had already evolved to the third form, holding a shield in one hand and a sword in the other. Its head appeared swallowed by a large mouth, its interior pitch-black, with only two eyes shining yellow light visible.

”So this is the feeling of power.”

Controlling Susanoo, Sasuke swung his sword, causing a large surge of river water.

Opposite Sasuke stood Naruto Uzumaki, already in Sage Mode, standing atop a gigantic summoning frog named Wentai, which was the same frog Jiraiya had once summoned, wielding a gargantuan short knife.

Beside Naruto on both sides were two smaller frogs, the Toad Sages Shen Zuo and Chiazma.

”Husband, illusions don’t affect him. The chakra inside his body is too wild to be influenced by illusions.”

Chiazma’s breathing seemed a bit hurried.

”Yes, I’ve noticed.”

Shen Zuo looked at Sasuke ahead, having fought him for an hour. Even Uchiha Madara from back then couldn’t continuously use Susanoo for this long, and judging by Susanoo’s form, it had clearly evolved to a high level.

”Is it the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan?”

The old face of Toad Shen Zuo showed some confusion.

”The aura doesn’t quite match; this feels more like a regular Mangekyo.”

”Regular Mangekyo wouldn’t be this strong.”

”Who knows.”

Hearing the two Toad Sages discussing, Naruto Uzumaki sighed inwardly. He hadn’t seen Sasuke for a long time; Sasuke was his best friend, and now, Sasuke seemed changed.

”Naruto, is this all you’ve got?”

Sasuke inside Susanoo smiled at Naruto, a smile resembling a villain’s — one he learned from Su Xiao, Deidara, and Kisame, among others.

As Sasuke spoke, Susanoo beside him suddenly swung its longsword.

Splash!

Blood appeared out of thin air, with a figure staggering forward, missing an arm, an assassin-class Contractor.

”Failed.”

The armless Contractor showed no expression; he immediately jumped back, heading towards Naruto’s direction.

”Amaterasu!”

Sasuke’s Mangekyo Sharingans were wide open, black flames manifesting on the dismembered Contractor.

The armless Contractor swiftly tore away his top, even though it was a piece of light gold equipment; compared to equipment, his life was far more important.

A flicker of black flame touched the Contractor’s pant leg. As he was about to tear it apart, Sasuke activated his pupil power once more.

”Inferno Style - Kagutsuchi.”

Sasuke’s Mangekyo had two abilities: one being Amaterasu, and the other Inferno Style - Kagutsuchi.

Inferno Style - Kagutsuchi meant controlling Amaterasu’s form changes, and in the Ninja World, Sasuke was absolutely the most skilled in controlling Amaterasu — even more so than Itachi.

The roaring black flames enveloped the Contractor, who could no longer maintain his previous calmness and started screaming, struggling as he sank into the water. He had been able to walk on the water thanks to his shoes.

A few seconds later, the armless Contractor was burned alive in the water. It sounded absurd, but it was a fact.

”These bothersome guys.”

Sasuke took a few deep breaths, holding his abdomen with one hand, where a gunshot wound was visible, a result of him being initially careless before activating Susanoo and getting injured by a Contractor.

In the forest nearby, more than thirty Contractors were either hiding behind trees or in the grass.

”Er Zhuzi is too fierce. I almost got killed by him just now.”

”That doesn’t add up; according to the original plot, Sasuke couldn’t maintain the third form of Susanoo for long before transplanting Itachi’s Sharingan. It’s already been over an hour now.”

”Maybe that’s just the protagonist’s little universe bursting out.”

”Protagonist your ass; something’s not right here. Someone must be meddling from the shadows.”

”Let’s wait and see if Naruto can unleash the Nine-Tails. He might still have a chance then.”
