Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 1030: Chapter 32: Bu Bu, Are You Trying to Make Me Laugh

Su Xiao sprinted across the snowfield, quickly leaving the forest area behind.

After killing Hōzuki Susuki, several notifications from Reincarnation Paradise appeared. Su Xiao hadn’t had the time to check them before, but now he had the chance.

[You have killed Hōzuki Susuki.]

[Hōzuki Susuki was a special storyline character in the Hidden Mist Village. You gained 9.7% of the World Source. You now have a total of 27.7% of the World Source.]

[Your Talent ’Soul Devourer’ activated, permanently increasing Mana Value by 30 points. Maximum Mana Value is now 3616 points.]

[You have obtained a Treasure Chest (Gold).]

...

The power of Hōzuki Susuki was by no means inferior to the Raikage, but the World Source gained from killing him was slightly less compared to the Raikage, mainly because Hōzuki Susuki wasn’t well-known.

Hōzuki Susuki had always been conducting missions for the Hidden Mist Village’s Assassination Squad. Other ninja villages knew of his existence and knew he was from the Hōzuki Clan, but they were unaware of his actual name.

The Hidden Mist’s Assassination Squad was quite famous in the Ninja World, a reputation built by Hōzuki Susuki and the Seven Ninja Swordsmen. Hōzuki Susuki didn’t care about his reputation; his belief was simple: when the shadow orders, he executes.

Just as Su Xiao was fast-walking on the snowy plains, he suddenly came to an abrupt halt and clutched his chest with one hand, his breathing becoming rapid.

”My organs have been exposed to too high a temperature.”

Su Xiao’s breathing was irregular, with a stinging pain coming from all over his body, most notably his lungs and lower leg.

The lungs were injured by Hōzuki Susuki. Although the two of them only fought for five minutes, the damage inflicted by Hōzuki Susuki was enough to kill a Shadow Level ninja. If it weren’t for Su Xiao’s strong survival ability, he would have died under the attack of the Steam Danger Tyranny.

As for his lower leg, this was injured during close combat with the Raikage. The Raikage’s kick was extremely heavy, and the Raikage’s attacks carried Thunder Attribute damage, making the wounds difficult to heal.

Although Su Xiao had become much stronger than before, fighting two Shadow Level opponents consecutively within two hours was strenuous. Even with the support of Recovery Potion, his body had its limits.

Su Xiao took out a crystal bottle, the ”Eternal Crystal Bottle,” which contained Spring Water from the Eternal Spring. It could be consumed three times, restoring 450 Life Value and 300 Mana Value with each use.

He uncorked the crystal bottle and drank a small sip of the Spring Water. The sweet Spring Water entered his body, and the rich life aura was refreshing.

The cool Spring Water soothed the internal heat.

”Hoo~”

Su Xiao squatted down, panting for a few seconds, then opened his sharp eyes again.

”Not good.”

Su Xiao knew his condition had gone awry in his plan. According to his plan, he should have faced off against Mei Terumī earlier, and after settling his grievances with her, he would have had a moment to recuperate.

However, things didn’t go as planned. There was a guy among Mei Terumī’s guards stronger than her.

Comparing Hōzuki Susuki with Mei Terumī, the former was undoubtedly more troublesome. His Steam Danger Tyranny could attack a high-temperature range of 200 meters, a pervasive attack that ignored most defense abilities.

Mei Terumī’s Lava Jutsu and Boil Release were strong, but the Counter Shield could suppress the Lava Jutsu, while Boil Release was manageable as long as he didn’t give Mei Terumī the chance to create an enclosed chamber with lava. The Boil Release’s power could only be exerted in close proximity, and with Su Xiao’s intuitive reaction speed, Mei Terumī couldn’t manage to harm him.

Su Xiao would prefer battling two Mei Terumī over fighting one Hōzuki Susuki. Hōzuki Susuki’s powers were practically unsolvable except for his relatively weak physical presence.

Su Xiao stood up, continuing towards the battlefield where Bubu Wang and A Mu were, even though, in his current state, defeating Mei Terumī was uncertain. If his injuries flared up during a close battle with her, it would be disastrous.

Despite this, Su Xiao refused to back down. Although his condition was less than ideal, it didn’t mean he lacked the capability to fight Mei Terumī.

About a few dozen seconds later, Su Xiao arrived at a snow-covered mountaintop.

Exposed on the mountaintop were black rocks, cooling black and red lava, with wisps of steam rising into the air.

”Bubu?”

No one was fighting nearby, but from the traces, it was clear the battle had ended not long ago.

Just as Su Xiao finished speaking, he heard snow being shoveled below.

Snowflakes flew, and a kobold emerged, quite abruptly. Shortly after, a bull head also poked out of the snow—it was A Mu, whose head had been severely burned, exposing significant bone.

”Where’s that woman Mei Terumī?”

Su Xiao sensed things were off. If Mei Terumī and Chōjūrō had only tactically retreated, Bubu Wang and A Mu wouldn’t need to hide in the snow.

Bubu Wang emerged from the snow, shaking off the snow from its fur. Its tail had a patch of missing hair with visible scorch marks; clearly, Bubu Wang had also been involved in the fight.

Bubu Wang’s dog face showed a hint of helplessness. It began describing the events to Su Xiao with its eyes and body movements.

Bubu Wang crossed its front paws into a cross, making strange sounds with its mouth.

”Biu, biu, biu...”

Bubu Wang seemed to be depicting something.

Su Xiao: ”?”

This time, even Su Xiao couldn’t grasp what Bubu Wang was trying to convey.

Realizing its descriptions were peculiar, Bubu Wang decided to pull out a tablet and started typing, eventually showing the screen to Su Xiao.

”Mei Terumī was taken away by Ultraman!”

”What?”

Su Xiao stood there stunned, snowflakes swirling around him as he finally understood what Bubu Wang meant by crossing its paws and saying ”biu, biu, biu.”

Su Xiao’s first thought was that Bubu Wang had suffered a head injury and was hallucinating. But on second thought, if it was a Contractor, disguising as Ultraman wouldn’t be a problem.

From Bubu Wang’s typing, Su Xiao learned what happened. Mei Terumī was rescued by a Contractor wearing an Ultraman mask.

”Out of scent tracking range?”

Su Xiao was about to instruct Bubu Wang to track Mei Terumī’s scent, but Bubu Wang shook its head, signaling she was out of the 5-kilometer range.

From the moment Su Xiao received Bubu Wang’s message until he arrived here, it took 1 minute and 6 seconds. This meant that the person who saved Mei Terumī had covered at least 5 kilometers in just 1 minute and 6 seconds.

If that was their actual speed, then it would be about 77 meters per second and with Mei Terumī and Chōjūrō in tow.

If they had such speed, and maintained it over 5 kilometers, there would be no need to flee. Yet, as they saved Mei Terumī, they wore a mask, obviously fearing Bubu Wang would recognize them and trying to avoid future revenge.

The incredible speed, focused solely on rescue without daring to attack, made Su Xiao think they used some item to cross the five kilometers quickly—no, even farther.

Contractors had the motive to do so. Mei Terumī was the Mizukage, and those less powerful Contractors desired such strong storyline characters to gain benefits through interactions.

Saving Mei Terumī would earn them considerable gratitude, potentially increasing personal favorability with Mei Terumī, opening up the systems of the Hidden Mist Village like the faction system and contribution shops, thus securing numerous benefits.

”She’s escaped.”

Su Xiao stomped on the ground, sending snow flying.

”Cough!”

Su Xiao coughed dryly, spitting out droplets of fresh blood.
