Chapter 1033: Chapter 35: That’s Why I Came Back for You

The acid mist spread inside the cave, and over time, its corrosiveness would increase.

Su Xiao held the Dragon Slayer Slash horizontally in front of him, contemplating for a moment before making a decision. His figure disappeared from where he stood in an instant; he used Shave.

As Su Xiao vanished, Mei Terumī’s hands were rapidly forming seals.

”Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique.”

With a roaring sound, a large amount of clear water centered around Mei Terumī spread outward. The Great Waterfall Technique is a signature ninjutsu of the Hidden Mist Village. As an A-Level ninjutsu, although it’s powerful, it consumes a lot.

Su Xiao, having already charged three meters before Mei Terumī, stopped. The rapid water blocked his body, intending to push him back. The impact of the water caused his feet to sink into the rock below.

Su Xiao immediately retracted the Counter Shield. Being within the water flow, he didn’t need to worry about being corroded by the acid mist temporarily; the surrounding Counter Shield would only increase the water’s resistance and cause him to be slammed into the magma wall behind.

With a sizzling sound, the water washed over the magma wall, and steam rose. The magma wall quickly cooled, turning into a black rock wall, more solid than before.

In the tumultuous water flow, Su Xiao held his breath, enduring the immense water pressure, moving closer to Mei Terumī.

Mei Terumī was also within the water. Her orange-red hair floated in the currents, while her hands continued to form seals swiftly.

Not sure what ninjutsu Mei Terumī used underwater, Su Xiao suddenly felt severe pain on his skin, instinctively closing his eyes, closing the surrounding Counter Shield.

When the stabbing sensation subsided, Su Xiao opened his eyes. His skin still felt fiery, as if flames burned within his eyes.

Soon, Su Xiao understood what was happening. The sealed cave was already filled with water, immersing both him and Mei Terumī.

Within the water, strands of bubbles rose and occasionally burst, turning the surrounding water pale green.

Su Xiao realized what was inside these bubbles — the acid mist Mei Terumī had previously conjured. She used the Great Waterfall Technique not only to repel Su Xiao but also to change the terrain.

Water plus concentrated acid mist formed a potent acidic liquid, and now Su Xiao was almost like soaking in sulfuric acid. As the bubbles in the water gradually burst, the corrosiveness of the acidic liquid would become stronger and stronger.

Su Xiao took out a pair of underwater goggles from his Storage Space; there was a Counter Shield blocking the corrosive nature of the surrounding water. It would only cause a scorching pain to his corneas.

Although Su Xiao wasn’t sure how long these goggles would last, the duration should be enough.

As the caster, Mei Terumī naturally had ways to prevent the strong acidic water from eroding her; prolonging the fight would only be detrimental to Su Xiao.

Even though Mei Terumī’s strength among the Five Shadows is only mid-lower, the cave’s terrain suits her combat style well.

Hundreds of bubbles filled with acid mist floated around Mei Terumī. Her palm was held out flat, she should be able to control these bubbles.

Clang, clang, clang...

More than ten blade beams pierced through the water, slashing toward Mei Terumī. Her body leapt within the water, faster than usual.

But just at this moment, Mei Terumī suddenly felt a suction force.

With a crashing sound, the clear water inside the cave rushed outward; the black rock wall had already been slashed apart without anyone noticing.

Su Xiao’s hand clawed on the rock wall, preventing himself from being swept away by the water. He was the one who had shattered the black stone wall behind, just when Mei Terumī was avoiding those blade beams.

”Impossible.”

Mei Terumī found it hard to understand why Su Xiao could break the black rock wall so quickly.

The water rushing outward was turbulent, causing Mei Terumī’s body to lean forward uncontrollably.

With a swishing sound, a blade beam pierced through the rushing water, slashing toward Mei Terumī.

Thud.

Blood spread in the water, and a small half of Mei Terumī’s palm was swept away by the water.

Hands are crucial for ninjas; most ninjutsu require hand seals to be performed.

But Mei Terumī wasn’t an ordinary ninja; she was a Shadow, the Mizukage.

”Boil Release: Melt...”

Mei Terumī surprisingly formed seals with that broken palm.

But at this moment, a sudden pain came from her lower abdomen, a metal needle pierced into her lower abdomen, quickly turning into a metal flower, firmly securing itself within her abdominal muscles.

Bang!

The metal flower exploded, blood and flesh gushed, quickly swept away by the water.

This sudden heavy strike interrupted Mei Terumī’s seal formation, and most of the water inside the cave had already surged out, leaving about knee-high depth.

”Lost.”

Mei Terumī looked at the icy gleam ahead, her abdominal injury making it impossible for her to dodge.

Pfft.

Dragon Slash pierced directly through Mei Terumī’s chest, sending her body flying backward.

Ding!

Dragon Slash embedded itself into the rock wall, nailing Mei Terumī there, with a metal wire attached to its hilt, leading back to Su Xiao, who maintained a throwing stance.

Advancing in knee-deep water would significantly slow Su Xiao down, so he chose a faster approach: to throw Dragon Slash. The Boundary Line attached to the hilt ensured that even if the strike missed, he could immediately retrieve Dragon Slash.

The result was that Su Xiao succeeded; the throw was precise, directly piercing Mei Terumī’s heart and nailing her to the rock wall.

”Lava Jutsu·Molten Rock...”

Even though Mei Terumī’s heart was pierced, she didn’t give up.

Whoosh~

A short knife was thrown from Su Xiao’s hand.

Ding!

Blood splattered as the Slaughter Dagger pierced through Mei Terumī’s hand seals, nailing her hands to her chest.

Mei Terumī was much more subdued this time.

”It’s useless.”

Blood dripped from the corner of Mei Terumī’s mouth, mumbling something.

”Even if you kill me, your plan won’t succeed. You’re going against everyone. Everyone will rise to resist you.”

This time, Su Xiao understood Mei Terumī’s meaning.

Su Xiao walked up to Mei Terumī, holding the handle of the Slaughter Dagger, causing Mei Terumī’s body to shiver in pain.

Su Xiao pulled out the Slaughter Dagger and stabbed it into Mei Terumī’s heart.

”I... will never... cooperate... with a villain like you...”

Mei Terumī’s eyes gradually lost their light, and soon she fell silent. Though she was a woman, she was the Mizukage, with her own persistence and beliefs, similar to Su Xiao, only their stances were different and oppositional.

”Killing you has nothing to do with the plan. You nearly killed me once, so I’ve come back for you, that’s all there is to it.”

Su Xiao never talks nonsense before confirming an enemy’s death; he resolves the enemy in the shortest time. Whatever he wants to say, he does it after the enemy is dead. Saying a bunch of nonsense after subduing the enemy is very unwise. Now it’s much better; even if the enemy disagrees with his perspective, they have no ability to argue back, and Su Xiao also won’t impose his views on others. Different beliefs, opposing views, it’s just a matter of who is stronger.

[You have killed Mei Terumī.]

[Note: Due to the character Bai Jue assisting throughout the battle, the rewards are reduced by 40%.]

[Mei Terumī was the Mizukage of Hidden Mist Village, gaining 6.2% of the World Source, now totaling 33.9% of the World Source (this reward has been reduced by 40%).]

[Your Talent ’Soul Devourer’ has activated, permanently increasing Mana Value by 18 points, now with a maximum Mana Value of 3664 points (this reward has been reduced by 40%).]

[You have obtained a Treasure Box (Purple) (this reward has been reduced by 40%).]

...

Seeing the Reincarnation Paradise notification, Su Xiao frowned, knowing without even thinking, it was Bai Jue who left the Spore Technique on his clothing, leading to Bai Jue being considered as participating in the entire battle.

Though the reward was reduced by 40%, Su Xiao didn’t care much. He was just there to settle a debt with Mei Terumī; she almost killed him once.

As for the Hidden Mist Village, as long as they don’t come seeking revenge, Su Xiao won’t actively attack them. He only had a personal vendetta with Mei Terumī; her identity didn’t matter.

Strangely, Chōjūrō still hadn’t brought the Hidden Mist Assassination Squad as backup, or maybe there was no backup at all.

Su Xiao wiped clean the Dragon Slash and Slaughter Dagger, and tossed two Alchemy Bombs inside the cave. As he exited, the Alchemy Bombs exploded, causing the entire cave to collapse.

”So, where to next?”

Su Xiao had achieved his intended goal, and he gained substantially. Since he had just entered the Naruto World, he simply needed to complete the main tasks and hunting tasks within the remaining time.

”Let’s go see what’s happening. Let’s go, Bubu.”

Su Xiao headed in one direction, with Bubu Wang and A Mu following closely behind. A Mu was severely injured, but fortunately, as an alchemical creature, as long as it wasn’t killed outright, Su Xiao could repair it quickly, since he was its creator.
