Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

When Little Hei returned to the supermarket again, she saw that the previous group of people were still obediently eating their food, obviously here to find something to eat.

”Little Hei, have you decided?”

Seeing Little Hei jump out from the other side of the ventilation duct again, the blonde girl hurriedly asked, and Little Hei nodded.

”I’ve thought it over, and I’ve decided to decline your invitation. Let’s go our separate ways.”

As she spoke, Little Hei casually picked up a travel bag from the shelf and began packing some food items. Hearing Little Hei’s response, the group was taken aback, especially the black-haired girl who had been kidnapped earlier, who stood up uneasily.

”Isn’t it safer to be together?”

”I don’t think so. In times like these, the more people there are, the more likely we are to be targeted. Besides, I don’t have much confidence in you guys.”

Little Hei shook her head and casually stuffed two bottles of mineral water into her backpack. Hearing her words, everyone was momentarily speechless.

This was also the conclusion Little Hei and Fang Zheng had discussed. Logically speaking, if this were a game scenario, then clearly this group of people should also be quest NPCs. If Little Hei and the young lady went with them, even if the system didn’t issue a prompt, the mission objective would most likely still be to safely lead everyone out of the city.

Just like in many games, if you can safely escort everyone out of the city, then obviously the rewards would be quite generous.

But the problem is, Little Hei can’t do it right now.

She is only a ten-year-old girl, while this group consists of three boys and three girls, all high school students. Little Hei is sure that if something happens, these people definitely won’t listen to the commands of a little girl who suddenly appeared halfway. The reason they invited her is either because they valued her combat ability or wanted to repay her somehow... but neither matters to Little Hei.

So after thinking it through, Little Hei realized she couldn’t take on this ”mission”.

A group of disobedient, unstable factors is almost an insurmountable challenge for Little Hei, who has the body attributes of a ten-year-old girl.

Incidentally, the young lady ultimately refused Little Hei’s proposal to join this group too, which somewhat surprised Little Hei, but wasn’t particularly unexpected. After all, this is a mirror world, and what she has to do is a task. Haphazardly handing over NPCs to other NPCs might sound fun in theory, but actually doing it is impossible.

It’s like risking your life to save a rebel army on an island, only to have those you’ve saved shout meaningless encouragement like ”Go for it!”, ”You can do it!”, ”Get him!” on the other end of a radio when you are attacking the cult leader’s headquarters...

What’s more infuriating is that you can’t even ditch these cowardly betrayers.

But that’s just everyday life for players.

”So, Little Hei, where do you plan to go next?”

The blonde girl didn’t seem to care much and quickly asked again.

”We’re planning to call for support...”

”Leave the city.”

Little Hei gave her answer decisively.

”Leave the city, head up the mountain, and find a deserted place. It’s that simple.”

This was also Little Hei and the others’ approach in the zombie world, to distance themselves from densely populated areas as much as possible, and then find an uninhabited place. Back then, Fang Zheng simply used Sanhua Remi’s yacht to take them out to the sea, completely avoiding the pursuing zombies on the road. Unfortunately, Little Hei is an ARCHER and not a SABER, lacking in riding skill, unable to fly a plane or ride a motorcycle.

She can ride a bicycle... though it’s completely useless in this situation.

This time, those people didn’t argue further. After packing her things, Little Hei nodded at them and left again through the ventilation duct, returning to the rooftop.

Then, a night passed.

After sleeping in a tent on the rooftop for a night, Little Hei and the young lady set off again, continuing their journey out of the city. By this time, almost the entire city had been completely overrun. As they walked over the rooftops, they could see people below screaming and twisting their bodies, and the moaning sounds carried up as well.

”You have to admit, this really is quite a sight.”

Standing on the rooftop, looking at the open-air mass activity happening in the square below, Little Hei couldn’t help but reflect. Even the most indulgent emperors in history probably only had three thousand concubines in their palaces, right? But how many people are in this city now? Hundreds of thousands? Millions? So many people all simultaneously engaging in ”acts of love” on the streets, it’s beyond absurd, almost inspiring admiration.

”But seriously, big brother, don’t these people need to eat?”

Watching the crowd below express their wild youth tirelessly, Little Hei found it incredibly surreal. She had observed these people for half the night and noticed they were like wild beasts in spring, waking up to engage in... activities, resting when tired, and then continuing when they woke up again. This cycle repeated endlessly, as if they didn’t need to eat at all. Little Hei had originally snuck through the ventilation duct, worrying they would look for food, only to find they were just obsessed with carnal pleasures, ignoring everything else.

At this rate, even without using a nuclear bomb, they would starve themselves to death. This level of intense activity without eating, isn’t that just asking for a quicker death?

”Who knows, perhaps they’re capable of dual cultivation, or maybe the person who designed the plot wasn’t thinking straight.”

Fang Zheng obviously didn’t care about such trivial details.

”Let’s move quickly, while most people are still asleep. Otherwise, it will probably be more troublesome by noon.”

”I understand.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s reminder, Little Hei nodded and continued pulling the Young Lady, jumping across rooftops.

Having an extra burden clearly slowed Little Hei down. Although she tried to choose the easiest path, the NPC Young Lady was just not up to it—and that was understandable. Nowadays, only those eager to create TikTok videos or livestream would choose to climb and jump high, but any normal person running along the roof’s edge would find their legs weakening over time.

Thus, Little Hei hurried along with the Young Lady, but the result was......

”Ah, I knew it would end up like this.”

Standing at the rooftop edge, gazing at the plaza before them, Little Hei wore a look of resignation. They had already left the shopping street and reached the city’s outskirts. Originally, Little Hei thought she could leave before the pandemic spread here, but now it seemed...... there was no hope.

Presently, Little Hei and the Young Lady were on the rooftop of a two-story building. In front of them was a rather ordinary park located at a street corner. From the stage nearby, it seemed this park previously hosted concerts, which explained why it was bustling with men and women. Scanning the scene, one could see several women surrounding a man, a few men surrounding a woman, some men surrounding men, and women surrounding women......

”Big Brother, do you know what I’m thinking?”

”What?”

Staring at the fervent battle below, Little Hei gritted her teeth.

”I want to wear a Black Robe and burn this place down!”

”Yeah, if nothing else works, that’s a solution.”

Fang Zheng wasn’t joking, and he knew Little Hei wasn’t either.

”Burn it down.”

Although spring is the season of vibrant life, if a fire breaks out, those animals will flee faster than anyone else. There was no other path; to move forward, they had to traverse this plaza. As it stood, the best way for them to pass through unscathed was...... to set the square ablaze!

”You, what are you going to do?”

Seeing Little Hei draw a large gun from behind her back, the Young Lady was startled and quickly asked. Little Hei just shook her head, saying nothing. Then she slowly raised her gun, aiming at the stage not far away—on the stage, several stylish idol girls were grappling with a man. The man wore a white shirt and tie, resembling an office worker. Judging by his appearance, he was likely the manager of the idol team or perhaps one of their fans; regardless, in normal circumstances, he probably wouldn’t have such intimate contact with the idols he longed for.

”Hmm......”

However, after aiming at them for a long time with her gun, Little Hei fell silent.

”Big Brother.”

”Hmm?”

”Any progress with the big sister at 765?”

”What progress do you expect from me?”

”No, I just thought of it after watching this scene.”

Little Hei smirked at the chaotic idol group on the stage while speaking.

”Big Brother, weren’t you a manager too? And your team also consisted of young, beautiful girls. Did you ever secretly hold some private amateur filming sessions or something?”

”Hehe, I’ll deal with you later.”

Now Fang Zheng believed that he didn’t know what Little Hei would evolve into in this world, but her ”imagination ability” would surely level up.

As Fang Zheng spoke slightly threateningly, Little Hei chuckled, playing coy, thinking that Fang Zheng’s punishment was hardly punishment. Why was she so enthusiastic? Wasn’t it because it felt better this way?

Better to wait until they got out.

Thinking this, Little Hei rubbed her thighs, then raised her gun barrel, aimed at the stage, and pulled the trigger.

”Bang!!”

With a loud gunshot, Little Hei’s arm shot upwards, causing her to land seated backward on the ground. Given her current Attribute Level, perfectly handling Merlin’s Gun was practically impossible; being able to keep her arm intact without injury was already thanks to Little Hei’s experience.

But for Little Hei, this was enough.

The spinning bullet shot out and directly hit the stage lighting equipment, snapping the steel support. Simultaneously, the bullet ricocheted, slanting down to pierce another connection point, jumping twice more to eventually strike the generator beside the stage.

Meanwhile, the unsupported lighting equipment crashed onto the stage, burying men and women underneath.

At that instant, the bullet finally penetrated the generator.

”Boom—————!!”

In the next moment, with the explosion sound, the entire stage erupted in blazing flames, rapidly spreading throughout the park in the blink of an eye!
