Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

The Swarm has gone berserk.

This is the first time since Fang Zheng became part of the Swarm that he didn’t hold them back, unleashing their full potential, resulting in the most effective utilization of the Swarm’s geometric expansion system. In just a few days, the deep purple fungal carpets covered tens of thousands of planets, and the number of Swarms generated by extracting resources was countless.

As the number of Swarms increased, the Swarm’s psychic network also grew stronger. The enhancement of the Swarm’s psychic network naturally pushed the power of the superpower simulation formula based on the ”Fantasy Manipulator” to its limits. It must be said that the Fantasy Manipulator formula, invented by Mokuyama Haruo, wasn’t suitable for humans, but for the Swarm’s collective psychic network, it was simply perfect.

This snowballing explosive effect also became the primary reason for the Swarm’s near invincibility.

In terms of raw strength, the Swarm and Terran are almost equally matched, and their characteristics are also similar. If it was the Swarm before Academy City, Fang Zheng would probably have had to rely on direct confrontations to gradually secure victory. However, the inclusion of the Fantasy Manipulator’s collective network core calculation method, combined with the genetic maps and superpower formulas of the first and fourth ranks, turned what should have been a balanced battle into a crushing victory—it’s a testament to the sometimes terrifying wisdom of humanity.

Even Fang Zheng hadn’t anticipated that the Fantasy Manipulator system developed by Mokuyama Haruo in Academy City for curing his students would unleash such great power when applied to the Swarm. Ironically, the Swarm itself couldn’t have thought of this due to their lack of conditions.

The Terrans have also shifted their tactics. Fang Zheng can sense that they are attempting different methods to break through his Swarm’s attacks. There were even a few instances when they successfully infiltrated Fang Zheng’s Swarm network, only to be utterly crushed by Fang Zheng in return...

This is the second weakness of the Terrans.

Indeed, the Hive Mind formed by unimaginable spiritual power is enough to bring most life forms to despair. But the problem lies in that no matter how strong the Hive Mind is, it’s still a collection of numbers, and its quality remains average. To a deity, a single mortal is a mortal, and a billion mortals remain mortals.

The weakness of Fang Zheng’s Swarm network is that with him as the psychic core, if Fang Zheng is destroyed, the entire Swarm will immediately disintegrate. Unlike the Hive Network, which will persist eternally unless completely obliterated, the Hive Mind will never vanish.

The advantage here is that if the core of the psychic network, Fang Zheng, is powerful enough, the Swarm would have no fear of any form of attack. As Fang Zheng is now the God of Magical Girls and the God of Games, his spiritual power is divine. To break such a psychic network, one would need an entity with matching divinity and also not fear the Primordial Fire.

In terms of networks, Fang Zheng and the Terrans are like a multi-terabyte broadband against a billion 52k modems. In terms of both quantity and quality, they aren’t on the same level, resulting in a direct rout.

For Fang Zheng, the feeling of conquering lands like this is quite enjoyable, especially when the opponent is also a Swarm. There’s no guilt in killing them, and there’s no talk of moral obligations or responsibility; it’s all about the kill. This mindless battle thrill is a first for him, and he naturally wants to make the most of it when the opportunity arises.

It’s like talking about love; considering the future and the other party will definitely make one think more.

But if you pull up your pants and leave without care, then feel free to go wild, haha...

Of course, this is assuming the other party doesn’t have HIV.

The Terran’s resistance isn’t without effect. In fact, they have indeed found ways to obtain some Zerg corpses. Not long after, Fang Zheng discovered that the opponents began to display Zerg with Vector Manipulation and Atomic Collapse abilities.

However, Fang Zheng remains unperturbed.

Why?

Simply put, they can’t use it.

Just like the Misaka Mikoto clone project, even if you clone ten thousand sisters, their ranks won’t exceed LV3. The Swarm is inherently the same; even after absorbing the genes of Accelerator and Atomic Collapse, the Swarm’s ability level average remains between LV1 and LV2. They can only display the abilities of an original LV5 entirely due to the enhanced computational power through the Swarm network’s Fantasy Manipulator.

The Terrans can extract and transform genes, but they can’t obtain the Fantasy Manipulator and the original abilities of the two LV5s since those are all under Fang Zheng’s control as the network core. Unless the Terrans kill Fang Zheng and assimilate him, they will gain nothing, no matter how many Swarms they kill.

Conversely, Fang Zheng has reaped substantial rewards.

The Terran’s biological warships were almost entirely absorbed by Fang Zheng into the Swarm. Currently, the Swarm’s larger warships consist only of Leviathans and some small organisms, lacking medium-sized warships. The Terran’s Insect Hive Fleet perfectly filled this gap.

However, the ground units are difficult to integrate into the Swarm.

For example, Insect Hive Warriors and Tyrants are completely disregarded by Mirune. She considers these units too cumbersome and not simple or direct enough. When they could easily pounce, bite, and tear, they instead use two swords to unnecessarily complicate things. Mirune finds this very un-Zerg-like, incomprehensible, overly simplistic, lacking efficiency, and challenging to integrate.

Given the time, she’d rather create a couple of hundred Jumping Bugs, easily shredding the Insect Hive Warriors to bits.

As for Gene Thieves, both Fang Zheng and Mirune believe they hold no significance and are inefficient. Although the concept of Gene Thieves sounds formidable, they require an extremely lengthy period and face the risk of discovery and exposure. Unlike now, where the Swarm’s Amoebas have evolved to directly burrow into others’ brains, consume them, and then shape-shift to control the body—an approach far simpler, direct, and convenient than blending in with the crowd as a Gene Thief.

In summary, the Swarm has abandoned all humanoid units from the Terrans and only integrated the Zerg-like biological genes. As Mirune says...

”They aren’t even as powerful and formidable as your group of Fusers, Master.”

”Ohho...”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but give Mirune a meaningful look. Although she thinks from a Swarm perspective as an Insect Queen, she seems to care about those little Cursed Child girls who survived after integrating with the Swarm.

Whether Mirune’s refusal to integrate the Terran’s humanoid units is due to those little girls’ influence... well, let’s just say it is.

Of course, these battles have been smooth and enjoyable for Fang Zheng. He just needs to command the Zerg, kill wave after wave, integrate one group, adjust strategy, send them back to the battlefield, observe the situation, and then discuss various tactics with Mirune...

It feels like playing Interstellar Confrontation on the ladder, constantly battling Swarm opponents, fighting endlessly...

”Ding.”

Fang Zheng was having so much fun with the killing that he nearly ignored the notification sound coming from his ear.

Huh? Was there a notification sound just now?

It took him a while after the sound for Fang Zheng to shift his attention away from the bloody interstellar battlefield in front of him, then he opened the system and quickly saw a line of system notifications.

[System Upgrade Complete]

[Dimensional Codex System upgraded to 2.1.5]

[User level raised to ”Dimensional Governor”]

[New interface optimization complete]

Update’s done?

Fang Zheng just remembered that his system seemed to go offline for an update—not that he knew what this crappy system, without even a server, was updating—but now it seemed like the update was complete.

Well, let me see what you’ve updated!

Thinking that, Fang Zheng reached out and opened the system.

Soon, a pitch-black large book appeared in front of Fang Zheng. He lightly tapped it, and then the book quickly opened, pages emerging to surround him at the center.

”So it’s become like this...”

Looking at this scene, Fang Zheng sighed. The earlier system was designed by him like a game interface, so it was still similar to a normal mobile game interface. But now it’s completely different, not only merging the data but even adjusting the interface—simply put, the whole system has been integrated into this Dimensional Codex, displaying information on the pages.

Fang Zheng opened the cover, first seeing his own data, then the directory—but unlike before, the directory has changed from [Dimensional World] and [Free World] to [Held World] and [Resource World]. The former is the Free World Fang Zheng originally owned, with pages chronicling his experiences and achievements—simply put, it’s more like a personal biography.

And the latter, [Resource World], is marked ”Searching,” with no content, but Fang Zheng can guess it’s probably just for fodder...used for burning firewood.

In the ”Appendix” roster at the end, it lists the names of the girls under Fang Zheng’s command, though it only includes those he brought back from other worlds and summoned characters, not including Main World ones. Each character has a basic background introduction, mainly containing information like physical status and mood...how does it increasingly resemble a strategy guide?

If you add a favorability rating, it might as well be a romance guide, right!

Wait, that’s not important, the main point is the card draw!

In the past, it was stone draws, now how am I supposed to draw?!

You better not have canceled the card draw function!

With this thought, Fang Zheng’s body trembled, then he urgently flipped through the pages to find it, but to his despair, he couldn’t find summon!

Impossible! The system I designed can’t possibly lack card draws after any upgrade!

Are you kidding me?

Fang Zheng hurriedly flipped back and forth, finally finding it in one of the ”Resource Purchase” tabs.

[Destiny Card Pack: Draw your card pack, summon your destiny, cost 10,000 Dimensional Points, Destiny Scroll X10]

[Soul Card Pack: Draw your card pack, gain the power of souls, cost 10,000 Dimensional Points, Soul Scroll X10]

Destiny Scroll? Soul Scroll? What are these things?

Fang Zheng currently isn’t lacking Dimensional Points, but he despairingly discovered that after the system update, it seems like it doesn’t just require Dimensional Points now...

Thus Fang Zheng buried his head in searching and finally figured out the situation.

Destiny Scroll is the achievement Fang Zheng gets for changing a world’s fate, like in Cthulhu’s world, every time he kills an Outer God or Elder One, he gets such an achievement and a summoning scroll as a reward. In simple terms, it’s like the reward for changing a world within the Dimensional World.

As for the Soul Scroll...it’s more related to Fang Zheng himself, like...

[Successfully ditching a lover, obtained Soul Scroll X1, user received the title ”Flower Crusher”]

[Successfully ditching a pregnant lover, obtained Soul Scroll X1, user received the title ”Scum of the Earth”]

MMP...seeing this string of incredibly bizarre achievement requirements, Fang Zheng’s face turned green. The joy of leading a Swarm Army and wildly killing had thoroughly vanished.

I’m your dear old dad, is this how you mess with me?!
