Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

”Haaahhhhh!!”

Tsuruno vigorously waved her flame fan, turning the monster in front of her to ash, yet soon, pitch-black figures emerged again, swiftly filling the void.

”Ugh, no matter how many times we fight, they just keep coming... Little Hong, are you okay over there?”

”.......”

Red Ponytail swung her greatsword, sweeping past and turning the shadow in front of her into charcoal, nodding at the same time.

”You better not use that move from before, Master Yachiyo said there might be a lot of people in this barrier.”

”.......”

To this, Red Ponytail nodded silently as well. In fact, she had already sensed several faint life forces, which was why she didn’t immediately burn that strange witch with one sword when it appeared. After all, Red Ponytail wasn’t sure if those faint auras included Kohin’s sister.

”But these guys just don’t stop coming!!!”

Though these shadows were as weak as witch familiars to the two of them, their overwhelming numbers were truly annoying. Together, Red Ponytail and Tsuruno killed hundreds, even thousands, without reducing these creatures outside by a single fraction. On the contrary, they seemed stimulated, becoming more and more frenzied.

”Ugh, what do we do now ————!”

Seeing the familiars crazily charging over, Tsuruno became more and more flustered, even Red Ponytail looked slightly grim, she looked at the greatsword in her hand, then held it tightly with both hands.

”—————!”

However, just as Red Ponytail was about to unleash her move, suddenly, the familiars that were madly attacking them vanished without a trace as if they had never appeared.

”What happened?”

Staring at the empty shrine in front of them, both were stunned, and Tsuruno quickly realized.

”Oh no, don’t tell me something happened on Yachiyo’s side, I need to go and see!”

As she spoke, Tsuruno took out her wooden board, wrote her name on it, and hung it up, then her figure quickly vanished into the air.

Only Red Ponytail remained standing in place, silently looking at the wooden board at her feet.

What to do when there’s no face emoji for writing?

Besides, she hadn’t thought of a name to write!

No choice, just wait.

Fortunately, even without directly entering, Red Ponytail could still use her senses to confirm the situation inside. From the sensed aura, Kohin, Yachiyo, and Tsuruno were fighting against a powerful aura inside, which although slightly different, was very similar to the previous stairway witch, apparently a comparable enemy.

But unlike before, perhaps due to insufficient numbers or some problem inside, Red Ponytail could sense that the auras of the three within the barrier were very unstable, even the strongest, Yachiyo, had her aura suddenly diminish significantly before returning to normal, but the other two didn’t improve.

Especially Kohin, Red Ponytail could detect Kohin’s aura was very weak, almost to the point of fading out completely.

What the heck happened in there?!

Realizing the situation was dire, Red Ponytail couldn’t sit still any longer, although breaking the barrier from outside could pose issues, she couldn’t let something happen to Kohin!

Thinking this, Red Ponytail picked up her greatsword and raised it high, soon, crimson flames erupted from the blade, then Red Ponytail gripped the greatsword tightly and swung hard towards the front!

As the Flame Blade swung down, the barrier in front of her shattered in response, and at the same time, Red Ponytail just felt Kohin’s aura suddenly stop as if it disappeared, then transformed into a murky, filthy aura! She looked up to see Kohin standing not far in front of her, her hair was floating wildly in the air, and an elementary schooler-like doodled monster appeared above her head!

That’s... witch transformation?!

Are you kidding me, how did it turn into a witch transformation?!

Seeing this scene, Red Ponytail was also shocked, but then, a more astounding scene unfolded.

Witch-transformed Kohin turned around, facing the witch charging at her. In the next moment, the bandages on either side of witch-transform Kohin’s body spread like wings, stabbing directly towards its prey. Facing the attack of witch-transform Kohin, the opposing witch had no power to resist, just like that, it was pierced through by the bandage like a sharp blade, then torn to pieces, disappearing into the air with a terrifying scream.

At the same time, the surrounding barrier also swiftly disappeared. Not only that, the witch above Kohin’s head also instantly vanished, soon, Kohin returned to her original form, stood up, and took a deep breath.

At this moment, Yachiyo also hurried to Kohin’s side.

”Kohin, are you okay? Your Soul Gem...?”

Hearing Yachiyo’s words, Red Ponytail put away her weapon and walked to Kohin’s side, glancing at the Soul Gem on her chest, only to see that the gem was as clear as before, without a trace of filth...

Are you kidding me?!

Seeing this, Red Ponytail showed a surprised expression, looking Kohin up and down. You’ve got to be joking, as a Magical Girl, being able to transform back after turning into a witch is already beyond imagination, and you managed to purify the Soul Gem as well?

You’re the main character aura! Your main character aura is much stronger than Kyoko and Homura!

At this moment, Kohin also glanced at her Soul Gem, suddenly surprised.

”Huh? How? The filth disappeared?”

”Ah, I understand now!”

Just then, Tsuruno also screamed out.

”That was a skill using filth, wasn’t it? Amazing, Kohin, a new Magical Girl skill developed!”

”Is that so?”

Compared to Tsuruno’s excitement, Kohin appeared somewhat bewildered.

”Sorry, I wasn’t aware at all...”

”I’ve never seen anything like it either.”

Yachiyo also shook her head, then she looked towards Red Ponytail.

”Do you know what’s going on?”

........

Red Ponytail also shook her head to deny it. Although she had enhanced Kohin’s Soul Gem, at that time Red Ponytail’s consciousness wasn’t online, so she only instinctively boosted part of Kohin’s power. It was just like when Fang Zheng used Divine Power to enhance Riko’s superpower in Academy City; essentially, there was no difference, and such an ability simply didn’t exist.

”In any case, let’s go to the Adjustment Room first.”

Without any answers from Red Ponytail, Yachiyo had no choice but to give up for the time being and planned to check out the Adjustment Room. However, at this moment, a voice suddenly came from behind the four of them.

”Sorry, I can’t let you all pass.”

”Huh?”

Hearing this voice, the four of them turned around, only to see a Magical Girl with blonde hair styled into curly buns, holding a firearm and blocking their path.

Isn’t that......

Mami Tomoe?

Seeing her appearance, Red Ponytail was also taken aback.

She clearly went with the Expedition Army, so why is she here? Could it be that this is a parallel world of a Magical Girl?

”Um, may I ask who you are...”

Looking at Mami Tomoe in front of her, Kohin asked uneasily, while Mami Tomoe stared at Kohin and replied.

”My name is Mami Tomoe, I’m a Magical Girl from Mitakihara.”

Saying this, Mami Tomoe looked towards Yachiyo and Tsuruno.

”It’s incredible that you can stand with Witches and remain unfazed.”

”Clearly smiling, yet exuding killing intent.”

Seeing Mami Tomoe in front of her, Yachiyo also showed a wary expression. Mami Tomoe, however, smiled slightly.

”Of course, but only towards those Witches over there, okay?”

As she spoke, Mami Tomoe looked towards Kohin again.

”Eh......!?”

Noticing Mami Tomoe’s gaze, Kohin was suddenly startled.

”Are you talking about me?”

”Of course, I never expected a Magical Girl to sneak into the crowd, I really didn’t expect that.”

As she spoke, Mami Tomoe raised the gun in her hand, aiming at Kohin.

”Don’t talk nonsense, that child is just like us, she’s a Magical Girl!”

”Exactly, if you keep saying stuff like that, even I will get angry!”

Even Tsuruno yelled out in anger at this moment, but soon after, she also fell to her knees, legs weak.

”Ugh...... not enough Magic Power......”

It wasn’t just Tsuruno; at this moment, Yachiyo was also at her limit. Facing Mami Tomoe, neither of them stood much of a chance. Simply put, their current situation was that their Magic Power was completely drained, and they had no way to continue fighting. The very appearance of this Magical Girl named Mami Tomoe in front of the four of them was enough to indicate that she had considerable confidence in her own power.

Seeing this, Kohin also made up her mind and stepped forward.

”I, I’ll...”

”Kohin!?”

”She’s only targeting me, and Yachiyo and Tsuruno, you’ve both exhausted yourselves...”

”But...!”

However, at this moment, suddenly another small figure appeared in front of Kohin, blocking her path.

”Eh? Little Hong?”

Seeing the Red Ponytail in front of her, Kohin was suddenly startled, then she saw Little Hong raise her right hand, and the next moment, a chilling cold burst from her hand.

What is that!?

Feeling this bone-chilling cold, Kohin and Yachiyo changed their expressions together. They certainly knew what this represented, because not long ago, the two of them had seen Red Ponytail use a similar trick.

They definitely knew what was going on!

”Wait, Little Hong, the target is me!”

However, before Kohin could finish speaking, Red Ponytail had already swung her right hand, and with the roaring cold wind, a pitch-black greatsword appeared in her hand. Next, Red Ponytail gripped Frostmourne tightly with a backhand and thrust it into the ground forcefully.

”Seal!”

With a low shout, the next moment, the surrounding world changed again, transforming into an endless frozen wasteland.

Seeing this, Mami Tomoe’s expression also changed.

”Is this...... a Barrier? Are you a Witch too?!”

But Red Ponytail had no intention of exchanging words with Mami Tomoe. After summoning the Sealing, she grasped the greatsword with both hands and charged straight at Mami Tomoe!
