Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

”Sister...?”

”Uh...”

Kohin opened her eyes and saw a familiar girl smiling at her. Large eyes, pink hair like hers, with a slightly babyish face that looked extremely cute. And Kohin was naturally well-acquainted with this face.

”Yu?”

”Yes, good morning, sister. Wake up quickly, mom has already made breakfast. If you don’t get up soon, mom will scold you.”

”Okay, I’ll get up right now...”

”Then let me braid your hair.”

After washing, Kohin sat in front of the mirror, watching her younger sister braid her hair. Although she wasn’t yet skilled, just having Yu doing this was satisfying for Kohin. After all, Yu had finally left the hospital, and now their family could happily live together; for Kohin, this was more important than anything.

”By the way, sister, you haven’t forgotten what we’re going to do today, right?”

”Of course, we’re going together!”

After breakfast, the two sisters smiled, holding hands, and said ”We’re leaving” to their parents before stepping out of the house. They went to the bustling commercial street, where they soon heard two familiar voices.

”Sister Dear, Yu!”

”Good morning, sister.”

The lively greetings were from Toka, and Yumem, who always appeared calm with her glasses. They were also Yu’s friends, having shared a hospital room with her, suffering from serious illnesses. Fortunately, they were all cured.

... Huh? How were they cured?

”Sister, hurry up, the movie is about to start.”

A fleeting doubt crossed Kohin’s mind before Yu pulled her into the cinema.

Very happy.

The four of them joyfully strolled down the street, enjoying the beautiful life. For Yu and her friends, this was something they never imagined before. Given their health conditions, leaving the hospital was impossible, so they could only hear Kohin talk about the outside world in the hospital room. They once promised that after getting better, they’d go out together.

And now, their dream was finally realized.

”That’s the mall over there, it’s so big...”

”I heard there are performances above the mall!”

Watching the three of them chat and laugh, Kohin smiled. No one knew better than her how much these three children wanted to go outside. They lived in the hospital room, where the only view they had was through the window. But such a life clearly couldn’t satisfy them.

Therefore, they found a map, letting Kohin take photos, and pasted them on the map. Through photos, maps, and Kohin’s narration, they imagined the outside world.

But just imagining wasn’t enough...

”Speaking of which, sister, do you remember that thing we did together?”

”Of course, I remember very clearly.”

Looking at her sister’s smiling face, Kohin nodded.

”At that time I...”

At this point, Kohin suddenly froze. Meanwhile, Toka and Yumem’s voice suddenly rang out.

”Sister Dear, over here!”

”Sister, Yu, hurry, otherwise Toka will have finished it all!”

”How rude, do I look like that kind of person?”

”Okay, okay, I’m coming now.”

Hearing their voices, Kohin let out a bitter smile and walked forward again.

Behind her, cherry blossom petals slowly fell.

Life was so happy, joyful, but for Kohin, it wasn’t without regrets.

”Ha... Ha...”

Curling up in the blanket, Kohin panted incessantly. Her hands were rubbing and tweaking, but the emptiness hadn’t been filled.

Behind her came her sister’s breathing. Originally, Kohin shouldn’t be doing such a thing, but she couldn’t help it—every night, she felt her body become restless, as if it were longing for something... or perhaps someone.

Who was that person?

Kohin couldn’t remember her name, only that she was an adorable girl with bright red ponytails about the same age as her sister. Sometimes, she’d recall her in dreams, but Kohin couldn’t remember her face at all. Yu and Toka knew nothing about this girl’s existence.

”Uh... Mm...!”

The intense stimuli spread all over her body like electricity, and Kohin bit into the blanket tightly, desperately suppressing her own voice, before slowly collapsing completely. She opened her eyes and saw a girl with a red ponytail and bright red eyes lifting her head from her embrace, looking at her with a captivating gaze.

”Kohin, you’re really an H, just like this, it’s still not enough, right...?”

”Wait, don’t, Little Hong...”

Instinctively muttering under her breath, Kohin was prepared to feel the impact, but it was only then she realized the girl before her had already vanished without a trace.

Leaving behind nothing but endless emptiness...

”Little Hong...”

Whispering to herself, Kohin suddenly widened her eyes, as if she remembered something at that moment.

Red Ponytail... Magical Girl, sister...

”Yu?”

Kohin turned her head, looking at her sister who was sound asleep on the other bed across, yet her sister was simply peacefully sleeping, deep in slumber.

”Yu... did you hear me?”

Kohin stood up from her bed, walked over to Yu’s side, and stretched out her hand.

”I’ve been searching for you... I’ve been searching for you, where did you go, Yu?”

As Kohin’s words fell, the whole world collapsed in the next instant.

”—————!”

Kohin suddenly opened her eyes, sat up, and the Red Ponytail waved her hand in front of her.

”Yo, you’re back.”

”I remember! Little Hong! I remember it all!”

Kohin grabbed the Red Ponytail urgently and spoke quickly.

”About Yu, about the rumors, about everything... I remember it all!”

”I know, but I’m sorry, I need to focus on Felicia right now, please wait.”

Pattering on Kohin’s shoulder, the Red Ponytail returned to Felicia, and it was then that Kohin noticed something was off in Felicia’s expression. Despite being asleep, her face was contorted, twisted, filled with pain and anger.

”What... is happening?”

”What else could it be, damn it, that bastard QB! It altered Felicia’s wish, and now Felicia refuses to accept reality!”

”Eh...?”

”You must have heard Felicia say her parents were killed by a witch, right?”

”Yeah... I’ve heard that.”

Kohin nodded, while the Red Ponytail was fuming.

”That’s simply a lie; the truth is that Felicia was mischievous and started a fire in the kitchen, causing an accident leading to a fire outbreak, and her parents fell into the blaze trying to save her. That’s when QB appeared, and Felicia wished for ’I wish none of this had happened,’ so QB erased this fact from Felicia’s memory, implanting ’her parents were killed by a witch’ as a false memory, making it seem to Felicia as if it really never happened... Damn you QB, this is a blatant breach of contract!!”

The Red Ponytail was almost driven mad; she had never imagined QB could be so shameless. Felicia clearly meant ’the fact that my mischievousness caused a fire in the kitchen leading to the death of my parents should have never happened,’ and QB audaciously made her forget she was the cause, shifting the blame to the witch in such a manipulative move... Damn it, if QB hadn’t been exterminated already, the Red Ponytail would want to dig it out and whip it eighteen hundred times.

Is there anything more shameless than this?!

Time Retrospection is something you can do, what’s this nonsense!

No wonder QB likes to choose little girls to sign contracts, after all, they are young, have limited ability to express themselves, and are easily deceived, so you really deceive them— this is outright wish distortion!

So now it’s a big problem, re-contracting would make the rememberer recall the original wish, thus QB’s implanted false memory is erased, yet at this moment Felicia becomes aware that her parents weren’t killed by a witch but died because of her. Her Spirit is about to collapse.

Felicia refuses to bear this fact, and her wish conflicts with the fact, causing the entire dream to shake violently. Wishing, after all, requires a clear acknowledgment of the situation to make a definite wish. For instance, Kohin is clearly aware of her sister suffering from a serious illness, which is why she wishes to cure her sister’s illness.

But Felicia’s wish and reality conflict; she doesn’t want to accept the fact that ’due to her mischievousness, her parents were harmed and had nothing to do with the witch,’ leading to being stuck at this step without progressing to the next stage of wish retrospection, like software running and freezing, currently stuck at [Task not responding, please wait or force close] interface.

So the Red Ponytail now has two choices: wait for Felicia’s response by herself or force a shutdown—which is equivalent to death. If she could help it, the Red Ponytail certainly wouldn’t choose the latter, but... who’s to say how things will turn out?

”Kohin, I entrust this to you.”

With a helpless sigh, the Red Ponytail looked at Kohin.

”Felicia has always thought of you as her mom. It’s up to you to bring Felicia back from her dream, I need to stabilize her Spirit here, you have to enter her dream to awaken her... Can you do it?”

”I understand!”

After hearing the Red Ponytail’s explanation, Kohin nodded vigorously.

”I will awaken Felicia!”
