Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

”Haa... ... ... ...”

Walking down the street, Kohin couldn’t help but sigh.

At this moment, she was wandering the streets of Kamihama City, but Kohin’s expression seemed a bit worried.

This morning, she went to the Adjustment Room but didn’t find any issues. Yakumo also said that Kohin’s Soul Gem was perfectly normal. Although Yachiyo had once suspected that it might be the consequence of Red Ponytail modifying Kohin’s Soul Gem, Kohin had already asked the latter about it and received a negative response. Moreover, Red Ponytail also stated that she didn’t know why Kohin had this ability to release impurities.

However, speaking of... ...

”Ugh... ...”

Recalling last night’s scene, Kohin blushed slightly. To be honest, she wasn’t a child anymore and certainly knew what such behavior meant, and also knew that two girls shouldn’t do such things. But Kohin couldn’t refuse Red Ponytail’s request, after all, the pleading look of those eyes begging for attention and feeding was really heart-melting, and considering that Red Ponytail had indeed saved her multiple times, Kohin couldn’t really say no.

But thinking of the duel last night between Red Ponytail and that Magical Girl called Mami Tomoe, Kohin felt a bit worried. She could see that both sides genuinely wanted to kill each other. Kohin could understand Mami Tomoe’s thoughts; after all, she believed Red Ponytail and herself were Witches, and it was only natural for a Magical Girl to eliminate Witches, something Kohin herself had done quite a few times.

But Red Ponytail was different. She, knowing full well that the other was a Magical Girl, went for the kill nonetheless, carrying an ”I don’t care who you are, if you dare bully Kohin I’ll cut you down” attitude, and judging by the killing intent, it was clearly more than just a demeanor.

Not only that, Yachiyo had also reminded her... ...

Thinking of this, Kohin found herself lost in reflection.

”Huh? Weapons?”

”That’s right.”

The Yachiyo before her looked at Kohin and nodded.

”Have you noticed that Red Ponytail’s weapons aren’t the same?”

”I did notice, but is there a problem?”

Of course, Kohin noticed that Red Ponytail had two weapons, both Greatswords, one black and one red. However, Yachiyo’s idea wasn’t that simple.

”That’s right, I suspect that Red Ponytail’s weapons might have various specific targets.”

”Targets?”

”Yes, you also saw, when she battled that strange rumor Familiar Spirits, Red Ponytail used the Red Greatsword, but when facing that Magical Girl named Mami Tomoe, she switched to the Pitch Black Greatsword.”

”Is there a problem with that?”

Regarding Yachiyo’s statements, Kohin was somewhat puzzled, unsure of the issue, and Yachiyo just stared at her.

”You haven’t directly confronted Red Ponytail, perhaps you didn’t feel it, but that Pitch Black Greatsword is not an ordinary weapon; it’s a Magic Sword.”

”... ...Magic Sword?”

”Exactly, you’ll understand once you face it head-on. That sword possesses a power that can freeze even souls. In fact, whenever I face that sword, I can hear what seems like countless Vengeful Spirits wailing from within the sword’s blade... ... In short, remember that Red Ponytail possesses the power to kill Magical Girls, and she also has the will to do so. Fortunately, she listens to you, so I hope you can keep an eye on her to prevent her from doing something irreparable.”

”Irreparable things... ...”

”Last night, that Magical Girl called Mami Tomoe was an example. Luckily, you stopped it in time, but what if something similar happens again? If people find out that a Magical Girl killed another Magical Girl, what do you think will happen?”

”... ... ...!”

Upon hearing Yachiyo’s reminder, Kohin turned pale and finally snapped back to reality. Indeed, just as Yachiyo said, it’s incredibly difficult to truly kill a Magical Girl, and for all time, Magical Girls generally never go all out against one another.

But the implications of truly killing a Magical Girl are completely different.

Red Ponytail might become a public enemy, attacked from all sides, and with Red Ponytail’s personality, she definitely wouldn’t surrender peacefully and would fight back to the end. By that time, the casualties would only grow, attracting more Magical Girls into the fray... ...

”Ugh... ...”

Thinking of this, Kohin shivered. She could easily imagine Red Ponytail clutching the Pitch Black Greatsword, standing in the sunset, with hundreds, if not thousands, of Magical Girl corpses at her feet.

If it comes to that... ... No, it won’t!

Kohin vigorously shook her head, casting that ominous scene out of her mind. Little Hong was an obedient and adorable child, though sometimes a bit fierce, she should be fine.

Moreover... ...

Kohin extended her hand, gently touching her own lips. She knew doing such a thing wasn’t right, but the feeling of being needed was nice. Not only that, the joy that came when holding the soft, petite, fiery body in her arms and merging with her was like waves... ...

Although Red Ponytail didn’t know what happened at that Shrine, Kohin remembered very clearly. There, she met the sister she longed for day and night, but to Kohin’s disappointment, it wasn’t really her sister; it was an Illusion created from her own memory.

The reason was simple: Kohin simply couldn’t remember her sister. The only memory she had was of her sister appearing in her dreams telling her to come to Kamihama City, where she would be saved. However, the sister who appeared in front of her did the same, merely repeating those words like a robot, ignoring Kohin’s questions.

Precisely because of this, Kohin awoke from that Illusion Realm, and also because of this, she suffered a great blow, leading her Soul Gem to become impure, almost turning into a Witch.

On that night, as if wanting to forget all that pain and sorrow, Kohin gave everything she had to Red Ponytail, allowing herself to be swept away by waves of joy until the next day... ...

But looking back now, it’s really too embarrassing!!!

Thinking of this, Kohin blushed, but just then, a voice suddenly came by her ear.

”Come, come, come, if you have diarrhea, it stops, if you don’t, it causes blood, please come take a look, dear customer.”

”Eh?”

Kohin raised her head, only to find herself somehow at the edge of a street, and not far in front of her there was a promotional stall with bottles of something that looked like soda. A salesperson was smiling at her and waving, so Kohin walked forward, curiously looking at the soda-like items in front of her.

”What is this?”

”This is Owl Luck Water. Just one drink will make you forget your troubles, cure all illnesses, bring good fortune, and ensure smooth sailing in life. It can even help with concentration, aid weight loss, and cure incurable diseases, oh.”

”Owl Luck Water?”

Looking at the strange soda in front of her, Kohin hesitated a little, but the person handed it over with a grin.

”Come, come, come, have a taste too, it’s a free sample, oh?”

”Eh? But...”

Looking at the drink that was forcefully put into her hand, Kohin felt a bit awkward. She wasn’t good at handling these kinds of sales pitches, and now being targeted so directly, she was really at a loss about what to do.

”Eh? It’s free? That’s awesome!”

At this moment, suddenly Kohin heard a voice beside her, and then she saw a blonde girl with twin tails laughingly running over, grabbing another bottle off the table, and with a ”pop,” opening it and gulping it down.

”Wow, it’s so good!”

Seeing the enthusiastic look of the blonde girl, Kohin hesitated as she looked at the bottle in her hand, then also took a sip and widened her eyes in surprise.

”It’s really good......”

”Boss, another bottle!”

This time the blonde girl had also finished a bottle and raised her hand excitedly for more, but the person shook their head.

”Very sorry, but it’s limited to one per person per day.”

”Eh?”

Hearing this, the blonde girl pouted a bit, clearly displeased, but still put down her bottle. At this moment, Kohin also finished her drink and placed the bottle back on the table.

”I’m done, thank you for the treat.”

Saying this, Kohin turned to leave, but to her surprise, the blonde girl beside her suddenly grabbed her wrist.

”Eh?”

This startled Kohin, and she turned her head to see the blonde girl staring at her.

”Hey, come with me.”

”Eh—————!?”

Just like that, without fully understanding the situation, Kohin was dragged by the blonde girl into a nearby alley, where the girl tightened her grip on her fist and thrust it towards Kohin.

”Hey, which Magical Girl are you from!”

”Ah!”

Hearing the blonde girl’s question, Kohin looked closely and saw that the girl was wearing the same ring she had.

”I......”

”You should know what this place is, right?”

”I’m very sorry, I didn’t mean to cause trouble in another territory.”

Facing the blonde girl’s questioning, Kohin hurriedly and nervously apologized. Magical Girls all have territorial claims and, to some extent, each one is like a gang. They occupy a territory and rely on extracting resources (Witches) from it to sustain themselves. Having another Magical Girl come into their territory is like a gang crossing into their turf to snatch money, something no Magical Girl can tolerate.

”Huh, who would believe words like that.”

However, the blonde girl obviously didn’t care about Kohin’s apology; she just raised her hand and made a gesture.

”Come on, hand over the money.”

”......Eh?”
