Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 879: Chapter 556: Ominous Signs of Annihilation

Before Volcanion thought he was teasing.

Baimu spoke softly, expressing his thoughts from a personal perspective.

”The place I come from is called Ore, it’s terribly barren. As far as the eye can see, yellow sand flies everywhere, the ground is so parched it can crack, there’s not even a green plant in sight, and precious water resources have to be dug out from deep underground or transported from outside...”

He said softly, ”But even in such a place, there are many people willing to stay, hoping to make it a place of abundance, a place with clear mountains and streams, a place like here.”

Volcanion followed Baimu’s gaze, seeing mountains, flowing water, lush green trees, and flowers everywhere, such a magnificent sight.

It could see the longing in the gaze of the human before it, and understood that what he longed for was not this Nibel Plateau, but the day in the future when the land called Ore would look like the Nibel Plateau.

”If one day, you find you can no longer stay in the Nibel Plateau, if the frequent disturbances of humans force you to leave your home, come to Ore.”

Baimu picked up a white cloth and wiped his hands, revealing a gentle smile, ”As long as I’m still here, my Pokémon are still here, and my friends and companions are still here, you will find a safe haven.”

He did not expect his words to easily move Volcanion.

If it was so easily moved to think of relocating, it wouldn’t have called the Nibel Plateau ”our home” when facing Ash and others.

Not only humans have attachments to their homeland, Pokémon do too.

Leaving a familiar place requires courage; venturing into unknown territory requires determination.

Volcanion: ”...”

”Did I go too far? Sorry, I just wanted to offer a suitable reference, I don’t think I’m necessarily right, nor did I mean to suggest you can’t stay at the Nibel Plateau.”

Baimu saw its sullen expression and hurriedly apologized in a low voice to soothe its emotions.

Good intentions remain good intentions.

This kind of seemingly overcautious ”prophecy” tends to make Volcanion feel he’s too arrogant.

Why should everything develop as he says?

Speaking deeply to shallow acquaintances has always been a taboo in interpersonal communication.

Baimu generally doesn’t meddle in such matters, if not for the touching bond between Volcanion and Magearna...

”It’s all right, I understand.”

Volcanion said in a deep voice, looking slightly helplessly at Magearna in the distance.

The Nibel Plateau is located in the southeastern part of the Carlos Region, with the nearest human town being the Azoth Kingdom.

Though it’s said to be sparsely populated, the trainers and Pokémon hunters coming and going are not few, otherwise Volcanion would not be able to protect so many Pokémon harmed or abandoned by humans.

From Ash’s previous question, ”Does this happen often?”, to Volcanion’s affirmative answer and methods of expulsion, it’s not hard to see that with the recent expansion of human footprints, the Nibel Plateau is no longer the paradise it once was.

Perhaps it started to change as early as five hundred years ago when it first encountered Magearna?

Baimu looked at its melancholic expression, feeling an inexplicable empathy within him.

It’s indeed a bit difficult for a Mythical Pokémon without enough power to survive in this world.

Setting aside other matters, the few strategies he proposed are merely theoretical. Establishing a protection area is easier said than done, as the Calos Alliance is not his subordinate and can’t establish one just because he says so.

Moreover, even if it prevents ”legal” harm from trainers, it may easily attract the attention of Pokémon hunters.

The existence of a protected area would signal that there are rare Pokémon within, openly telling you they’re there.

If patrol strength is insufficient, the disadvantages may outweigh the benefits.

Then what about running away?

Finding where to escape is also a problem.

Even Mewtwo couldn’t guarantee it could find a Pokémon Paradise inaccessible to humans, and the Clear Cliff it barely reached was still discovered by Giovanni and the Rocket Team.

Let alone Volcanion.

But living in a world dominated by humans, using humans to check and balance humans is generally not wrong.

Baimu pointed to Ji Meiya and Rakael in the distance and said, ”I know you’d prefer to continue living in Nibel Plateau, so go discuss with them, after all, they’re your neighbors.”

The Azoth Kingdom has intricate connections with Magearna.

The most important thing is, although there is a king in the Azoth Kingdom who hasn’t appeared in the plot, Ji Meiya or Rakael, who are kind-hearted enough, have a certain degree of influence.

They can offer aid to Volkenion and Magearna when needed.

”I understand.”

Volcanion nodded and walked forward slowly, taking only a few steps before tilting its head slightly, its tone returning to a light and cheerful manner, saying, ”Thank you... Baimu, I will consider your proposal.”

”Mm.”

Baimu raised his hand and waved.

——

Evening.

At sunset.

After the celebration banquet, everyone boarded the giant airship and flying devices, waving goodbye to the Pokémon of the Nibel Plateau.

Baimu stood on the deck, overlooking the smiling faces of the wild Pokémon below, softly humming the ending song from a movie he remembered.

”Happy?”

Blissey looked at him curiously, as it was unusual to hear a trainer humming a song, what was the occasion today?

”Inspired by the moment.”

He smiled and patted Blissey’s head, as the ending songs from the Pokémon movies are usually very pleasant and leave a deep impression.

What Volcanion discussed with Ji Meiya and Rakael, he didn’t know, but just like in the original storyline, Rakael, who considered himself inexperienced, decided to take his favorite Pokémon, Slurpuff, on a journey, encouraged by Ash.
