Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 828: Chapter 534: Pre-Champion Match? (Part 2)

The rules of the Glazed Gym battle are quite complicated.

Simply put, you first choose two Pokémon for a double battle, and when one of the Pokémon is defeated, you can send out another Pokémon to supplement it, but swapping during the match is not allowed.

But when any party’s first two Pokémon go down, the first round is over.

The Pokémon that didn’t lose combat ability in the first round, can be used in the second round, which is a single battle where the challenger’s side is the only one allowed to swap Pokémon.

”As a trainer aiming to challenge the Ever Grande Conference, no matter what rules you encounter, you must have the ability to be as flexible and adaptable as water.”

Adam wasn’t sure who he was explaining to, his gaze never left the scene below.

But as he said, the Ever Grande Conference is a special blend of doubles and singles, and the rules of the Glazed Gym give challengers a bit of a preview.

Inside the arena.

Mikoli smiled lightly and tossed out two Pokeballs, saying, ”Now let me see just how much of your power you can show us.”

Bang bang!

White light flickered.

The Tentacruel, with numerous tentacles, dove into the water blowing bubbles, and the Ludicolo, resembling a combination of pineapple and duck, stood on the floating board dancing.

”Gupupu...”

”Rongpapa~”

”These are Pokémon I’ve specially cultivated since taking the position of Hall Master and are the ones I use most often. Don’t underestimate them, or you’ll suffer.”

As Mikoli was speaking.

Baimu also sent out the Pokémon he had decided on.

”Pali!”

”...Sang.”

Porygon II and Galarian Corsola seemed like miniature replicas of those on the opposite side, one positioned on the floating board, the other floating with the waves on the water’s surface.

[Download] trait triggered, Porygon II’s abilities rapidly enhanced—

It’s Special Attack!

Baimu confirmed the enhanced ability from the signal given by Porygon II’s tail, not waiting any longer.

Priority is crucial!

”Angularization · Paddle! Reflective Wall!”

”Oh? Taking the initiative are we? Quite decisive.”

Upon hearing the command, Mikoli also followed up, ”Rain Seeking! Poison Spike!”

At the moment.

Porygon II’s oval-shaped legs were enveloped in white light, turning into two propellers as it dove into the water, allowing it to move smoothly atop the water.

It ferried the Galarian Corsola closer to Tentacruel and Ludicolo, a translucent square glass wall appearing in front, reflecting colorful luminescence under the lighting.

However, before it got close, purple rays soared skyward following Tentacruel’s tentacles.

Swish swish swish—

”Rongpapa! Rongpapa!”

Ludicolo danced oddly on the floating board, while dark clouds quickly gathered under the ceiling, and the purple poison spikes that soared into the sky scattered like divine maidens showering petals.

”Pali!”

Porygon II deftly dodged the poison spikes.

In the animation, unlike in the game, poison spikes don’t only trigger when switching in; if hit when the opponent releases them, it can also poison.

Suddenly.

Sizzling rain began to pour down.

Ludicolo’s figure visibly quickened, evidently the result of the [Free and Easy] trait activation.

Mikoli smiled and said, ”Splitting Tiles.”

”Rong...”

A light cry.

Porygon II suddenly saw a blur, the suddenly accelerated Ludicolo had already jumped in front, raising its right hand enshrouded in a buff-colored whirlwind and chopping fiercely down!

The Free and Easy trait not only enhanced its movement speed but also its move speed!

”Corsola!”

”Sang...”

Galarian Corsola suddenly flew up, actively rushing toward the right palm.

Bang!

The heavy blow sent it tumbling back onto Porygon II’s back, yet the buff-colored whirlwind dissipated abruptly like smoke, without penetrating directly into its body.

Undoubtedly, this was thanks to the Ghost Attribute’s immunity to Fighting Attribute attacks.

”Hm~~~ A perfect blend of General and Ghost Attributes, elegant!”

With a smile, Mikoli said, ”But getting close arbitrarily is not a good habit—Mud Wave!”

”Defend! Magic Space!”

Baimu’s command followed closely behind.

Porygon II and the Corsola, being moderately slow Pokémon, must accept the fact that when they cannot overpower their opponent with level or ability, they will lag behind in making moves.

However, the slow pace can be compensated by using moves with high priority.

”Poof!!”

A large mass of purple liquid sprayed from Tentacruel’s mouth hidden beneath its pincers, instantly dyeing the previously clear pool water with poison.

Fortunately, the portion that sprayed directly at them was blocked by a ball-shaped beehive light shield released by Corsola, giving Porygon II the chance to activate the Magic Space.

A translucent blue grid-like space rose from the edge of the arena.

”Hahaha! Magic Space, speed swap!”

Liuqia excitedly clenched his fist, standing firmly on the side of his ”student” Baimu, ”The uncle’s rain was instead utilized!”

But Adam shook his head and said, ”They are quite good at using transformation techniques, but it’s not that simple.”

The words had just fallen.

”Let the surf mixed with poison water launch the assault!”

Mikoli’s voice suddenly became loud.

”Lombre-pa!”

Ludicolo plunged both hands into the pool water, then suddenly lifted them forcefully upwards!

Loom!

A massive tidal wave surged up, with purple and blue constantly swirling within, making Porygon II, this ”small boat,” seem like a solitary leaf, potentially engulfed by the poisonous water wave at any moment.

However.

The moment the Magic Space was successfully used.

The fastest speed in the arena had already changed from Ludicolo to Galarian Corsola!

”Tide Spin! Electromagnetic Levitation!”

Following Baimu’s shout, a massive whirlpool began to rotate beneath Porygon II, gradually breaking down the incoming huge wave under this torsion force.

But conversely, Porygon II also nearly got pulled into the water by the whirlpool.

Luckily, at the critical moment, it used Electromagnetic Levitation, replacing Tentacruel’s speed, and wasn’t much slower than Corsola.

Compared to that.

Even though Tentacruel was pulling a part of the arena edge with some tentacles and another part pulling the floating board where Ludicolo was, preventing itself from being attracted by Tide Spin.

Ludicolo’s dancing had turned to slow motion, as if all its energy had drained, and even its tentacle movements weren’t as fast as before.

”Tight Binding!”

Several pitch-black tentacles burst through the water bottom following Mikoli’s instruction.

”Let it grab! Hundred Thousand Volts!” Baimu shouted, and the initially dodging Porygon II immediately halted, allowing itself to be tightly bound by the tentacles.

The blinding electric light then shone.

Corsola smartly detached from its back to avoid accidental injury.

”Night Shadow Demon—huh!?”

Baimu had just ordered Corsola when he saw the guy’s body tremble dramatically, inexplicably falling into the water when it was supposed to be hovering in the air.

”Sever the tentacles!”

On the other side, Mikoli promptly had Tentacruel ”cut off its arms to survive,” ensuring it didn’t receive too much damage, ”Ludicolo, throw Parasitic Seed at Corsola!”

”Lombre-pa!”

Ludicolo trembled all over, several pea-like seeds sprayed from its top, falling towards Corsola.

The latter, with purple bubbles at the corners of its mouth, tried hard to dodge the incoming emerald green seeds, yet still missed one. The moment it touched the latter, it germinated and turned into living vines, infiltrating its holes to strengthen the binding power.

”Poisoned... the toxic tide couldn’t be completely avoided?”

Baimu knitted his brows; the trouble with abnormal states lies in that no matter the amount touched, there’s always a possibility of getting hit.

It fundamentally differs from what normal humans perceive as discussing ”toxicity” in terms of amounts.

Suspended in the air, Porygon II, bound like a zongzi by the tentacles, saw its companion in dire straits and tried to free itself swiftly to provide support.

”Don’t panic! You can’t break free like this! Use Angularization again!”

Baimu shouted, then spoke to Corsola in the pool, ”Curse—Tentacruel!”

In the void.

A dark purple nail drove into Corsola’s shell, and the intense resentment turned into an illusory ghostly shadow under the command of Ghost Attribute Energy, flying towards Tentacruel.

Mikoli had assumed Baimu would target Ludicolo, whose movement range had narrowed and speed became slower, ready to let it dodge, but unexpectedly, the target was Tentacruel.

”Dodge—”

The instruction was given too late.

The ghostly shadow sank into Tentacruel, causing its whole body to tremble uncontrollably.

But on the other side, with the combination of being poisoned, Parasitic Seeds, and cursed, the multiple power losses had Corsola nearly ”on its last breath.”

In mid-air, Porygon II, transformed into a quadrangular long stick, finally freed itself from the lingering tentacles, and from the particularly scarlet part of its surface, it seemed likely to be enraged.
