Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 802: Chapter 522: Attribute Elf (2)

Beautifly sank into a slumber.

”Success! Blissey’s song successfully put Beautifly to sleep!” Vivian’s excited voice echoed above the venue.

It’s no wonder she was so thrilled; the impact of a sleep state on a match is evident.

Xiaoyao also felt that Beautifly was like going from the tiger’s mouth into the wolf’s den.

She fully understood the frustration Xiaoshun felt during battles. Without being able to curb Baimu’s Pokémon’s reaction abilities, their offensive was relentless, leaving her no room to breathe.

What should she do?

What to do next?

The inner conflict and indignation made her shout passionately:

”Wake up quickly!! Beautifly!”

The crisp voice rang out loud and clear, seeming to carry a sort of piercing power.

Baimu appeared calm on the surface but sighed inwardly.

Disorganized moves would never compare to planned continuous combinations. If Blissey’s initial small performance with ”Song of Baptism” could have been completed, perhaps Xiaoya’s score would have dropped by half.

Unlike now...

Few points deducted, and it woke up instantly!

Beautifly’s eyes suddenly opened wide.

”Jee!”

”Angel’s Kiss!” he called out loudly.

”Happy!”

Blissey made a flying kiss gesture, and a massive pink heart flew forward.

The opponent woke up from sleep in less than five seconds, which in games might just count as one turn, simply outrageous.

Exactly what you’d expect from Xiaoyao, the Emperor of Luck, who reverses defeats with borrowed fortune so many times!

Vivian was equally full of praise, her voice spreading through the microphone across the entire venue:

”Incredible! Beautifly, who just entered a sleep state, woke up immediately! What kind of willpower is this!? I... um?”

Before the words fell, Angel’s Kiss hit Beautifly’s forehead.

The latter didn’t even have time to dodge.

biu~

As if hit by Cupid’s Arrow, Beautifly, lying on the web, had hearts in its eyes, but soon the hearts turned into dots, swinging its head like it was drunk.

Points were deducted accordingly.

”Uh.”

Having just escaped a sleep state, Beautifly entered a confused state again, making even the strong-willed Xiaoyao bewildered by the ebb and flow of the situation.

Revenge begets revenge.

This is the power of well-bred Pokémon.

He was filled with emotion, still savoring the moment when Beautifly woke up instantly. He intended to have Blissey use the Healing Bell to lift its sleep state.

Who would’ve thought there was such an immediate wake-up operation; it waking up on its own would just deduct the score!

Baimu glanced at the giant screen. His score had dropped by more than a quarter, though he clearly held the initiative in the battle so far...

Evidently, Xiaoyao’s shout and Beautifly’s awakening were deemed as a manifestation of bonds... which isn’t entirely impossible?

It’s just that.

He looked again at Xiaoyao’s score, which was less than half.

The sad part is that under the Gravity Field, even if Beautifly stays away from the water with its web, it still couldn’t move quickly to dodge attacks.

A pure live target, powerless in front of Blissey with its plethora of transformation techniques.

”Get a grip, Beautifly! Use Silver Wind!”

Xiaoyao would not concede just like that, as long as her points are not depleted and time hasn’t ticked down to the last second, she still has a chance to reverse the outcome!

Beautifly also fought hard, though its expression was hazy, sometimes showing moments of clarity.

It seized this opportunity with all its might.

”Jee!”

With a shriek, Beautifly flapped its slightly wet wings swiftly, sending blades of silver wind mixed with shimmering powder shooting towards Blissey!

The power was formidable, as if triggering the Insect’s Premonition trait.

But awaiting the silver wind blades was a canopy of gleaming blue, edged with irregularly flowing light.

Pupupu—

The sound of the wind was muffled.

”This is...”

Xiaoyao was stunned, looking at the large round indentation in the light curtain caused by the wind blades, appearing ready to tear apart at any moment, unable to recognize what this move was.

”Strong Mental Will.”

Baimu smiled and answered her doubt.

Immediately.

Blissey’s eyes lit up, and the indented light curtain from the impact suddenly transformed into a fully-charged bow, bouncing the silver wind blades back entirely!

Attack in Place of Defense · Blissey Version!

Pupuuupup—

The wind blades swiftly cut the web in the pool, causing Beautifly to fall into the water.

”Nani!?”

Xiaoyao looked shocked. Using a move to bounce back another move... isn’t this Mr. Adam’s technique?

The scene of Seaking rebounding Hundred Thousand Volts with Horn Drill was still vivid in her memory. Although she had tried to master it for years, progress had been sluggish.

Is this move of Baimu’s the same as Mr. Adam’s?

No time to ponder, the more urgent issue now is the Beautifly that fell back into the water.

”Use String Shot again—”

”Get it up.”

Xiaoyao and Baimu issued orders one after the other, but compared to the confused, water-choking Beautifly, Blissey’s movement was quicker, as the light curtain generated by Strong Mental Will hadn’t dissipated.

The light curtain transformed into a large net, dived into the water, entrapping Beautifly and pulling it out before placing it in front of Blissey.

”Sing.”

”Happy~”

Blissey displayed a kind smile to the dizzy Beautifly, extending a hand gently soothing its wet body, and started singing a lullaby.

The loving expression deeply touched Miss Joy in the judge’s panel.

”Wake up! Beautifly!”

In a panic, Xiaoyao shouted, hoping to use the previous trick once more, but alas this time, the latter fell into a deeper sleep.

Baimu said: ”Let’s end it, Healing Bell.”

”Happy~~”

Blissey closed its eyes, releasing pink waves like a prayer, these waves sounding like silver bells ringing, surrounding Beautifly.

Its tightly furrowed brows immediately relaxed.

Meanwhile, on the giant screen, Xiaoyao’s score was less than a quarter.

But the countdown hit zero.

Baaam—!!

The sound of the whistle was quite jarring.

”The match is over!”

Vivian shouted, swinging her arm down, ”The player advancing to the finals is—Mr. Baimu!”

Clap clap clap—

The sound of enthusiastic applause arose.

Xiaoyao looked at the giant screen with the avatars of Baimu and Blissey, took a deep breath, and exhaled heavily.

What was she to say?

Tricky?

It indeed was tricky, although Blissey used Strong Mental Will, its purpose was never to attack, pressing her to the brink just with a bunch of transformation techniques.

Especially the Gravity move, originally thought to be manageable by ascending to a height where the Gravity Field couldn’t reach.

Unexpectedly, there wasn’t even time.

”Mr. Baimu, you are truly remarkable.”

Xiaoyao shook hands with Baimu amiably in the venue, speaking sincerely.

”Thank you for the compliment, Beautifly’s resolve was also quite impressive.”

He reciprocated the compliment.

Truth be told, during the match, he was actually worried that Xiaoyao might have an outburst like in the anime, creating an extraordinary scene.

But thankfully, Heaven stood by his side.

Just giving Xiaoyao a little boost and it was over.

Hmm...

Maybe it had to do with the lack of exclusive burst bgm?

Being familiar with the anime, Baimu is aware that each main character in Pokémon had their own exclusive burst bgm, among which Ash Ketchum, as the series lead, had the most.

Every high point moment, the background music would appear and turn up instantly.

At that point, winning would be difficult.

Of course.

There are also cases where they lose within their own bgm, but it’s not frequent, and fundamental rules still hold strong.

The two returned to the preparation room.

Xiaoguang and Liuqia had already moved to the contestant passage, ready to proceed, and the one to welcome them first was Xiaosheng. After comforting Xiaoyao with a few words, he couldn’t help but inquire about Baimu’s move with Strong Mental Will.

The situation?

Just another variant of a technique.

The Strong Mental Will shield learned from Da Wu, combined with the principles of attacking in place of defense, neutralizing force, turning, and counterattacking, naturally giving birth to this peculiar form.

Yet, it’s a long way from Adam’s attacking in place of defense. Blissey’s Strong Mental Will shield can’t yet withstand attacks from opponents of the same level, merely bullying the ”little kids”.
