Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 815: Chapter 529: Another Exam!?

After the dancer finished dancing,

The dazed Qi Shu gradually regained her senses.

She glanced at the livestream’s popularity —

[Your hand is tightly held by Qi Shu, who excitedly asks if you have any intention of becoming a livestream host]

This time, it was the dancer’s turn to be stunned, looking at the gym leader in front of her, whose eyes were shining brightly and who didn’t appear much older than her.

Qi Shu.

The Gym Leader of Brewlight Gym, a renowned livestream host.

She’s a girl with two Magnemite-like accessories on her head, quite the unconventional attire, making her one of the leading figures in the Pokémon Realm.

A set of shark teeth paired with a sweet smile gives her immense popularity among the younger generation.

What can be said?

She’s just so adorable.

And before the dancer could refuse, Qi Shu quickly clarified she was just casually mentioning it, relieving the dancer’s concern about whether a refusal would impact the Gym Battle.

[Your second Gym Battle is about to begin]

The battle venue was still set in the center of Brewlight City, a plaza-like place surrounded by gigantic horizontal screen ads.

Colorful spotlights shone up from below the battle arena, looking quite cool.

Probably quite dazzling too.

At the start, the dancer still chose Quaxwell as the opener.

Though Water Attribute was at a disadvantage facing an Electric Attribute Gym, the dancer trusted it and threw the ball decisively.

Quaxwell didn’t disappoint her; its dance moves reacted faster than the Wattrel sent out by Qi Shu, evading several streams of electricity.

Of course.

It’s not that it’s faster than electricity, but simply anticipated Wattrel’s attack landing points.

This was reminiscent of dodging ballistic trajectories...

In fact, it’s quite impressive. At least even Mawile, who is also proficient in dance, couldn’t reach this level, which made Baimu quite envious.

Under Quaxwell’s dazzling and elegant dance steps, Wattrel was defeated.

Next up was Bellibolt, who often appeared alongside Qi Shu in front of the camera. This Pokémon gave Baimu the first impression of a toy plus an electric griddle.

After checking some information, he found out that those eyes-like things on its head sides weren’t eyes, but discharge organs.

In other words, when this guy releases moves, it’s akin to a superhero — ”Electric Eye.”

And its unique trait, [Power Conversion], brought quite a challenge to the dancer and Quaxwell; fortunately, Quaxwell was strong enough not to be taken down.

Nevertheless, despite its efforts, Quaxwell eventually couldn’t withstand the repeated electric shocks.

”Brother Ya, you have gone above and beyond.”

Baimu sighed, simultaneously glancing at the unexpected Aggron beside him, recalling how he once depended on big monsters to get this far.

Just after those words were spoken.

The pixel Quaxwell that looked utterly exhausted within the light screen suddenly got enveloped by a flash of blue light.

Baimu: ”...wtf?”

[Your Quaxwell has evolved into Quaquaval]

It evolved!?

The second Gym’s Three Families evolved into their final form? Are you a game player or what!

Well-trained indeed, this is top-notch!

Baimu thought, considering that Ash Ketchum’s Three Families might not necessarily have this kind of treatment. The dancer truly... those battles along the roads were really worthwhile, growth speed was off the charts.

On the screen.

Quaquaval gained a bit of stamina recovery through evolution, as if an exclusive bgm started playing, and gallantly faced Qi Shu’s third Pokémon, Luxio.

The new skill, [Flowing Water Spin Dance], combining dance and attack effects, was fully showcased, making Quaquaval’s movement speed reach the level of Energy Shadow Clone, attacking Luxio from multiple directions simultaneously.

Taking it down with one move.

Qi Shu didn’t speak immediately, ellipses emerged on her forehead.

Probably almost suspecting the dancer was here to stir up trouble, considering everything done so far wasn’t exactly conventional.

Luckily, being a popular livestream host, Qi Shu didn’t get too carried away despite being pressured so much, instead using this to liven up the livestream atmosphere, sending out the final Pokémon, Mismagius.

Over on the dancer’s side, the spotlight moment ended and Quaquaval, who had just revealed its true form, was swapped out, making way for Oricorio, specially designed to change its attributes.

The challenger and Gym Leader simultaneously performed Great Crystal Transformation on their respective Pokémon.

After the dazzling effects, one appeared with a red fire candle and the other with a yellow light bulb, transforming into singular fire and electric attributes respectively.

[You’re surprised as the Oricorio suddenly became a fire attribute. Then you realize that Great Crystal Transformation doesn’t change along with innate attributes]

”This...”

Baimu was speechless; the dancer didn’t fully grasp Great Crystal Transformation, unaware that Pokémon’s Great Crystal Attribute normally doesn’t change.

Fortunately, Oricorio and Quaquaval shared a lineage, possessing extremely excellent dance steps to avoid Mismagius’s attacks. Even the move [Shaking Dance] can be performed while dancing.

Mismagius was forced to take the hit, finally defeated by Oricorio’s Air Slash, redeeming the erroneous Great Crystal Transformation.

[You defeated the Brewlight Gym Leader Qi Shu and obtained the Brewlight Badge]

Compared to the spiritual shock of earning the first badge, the second badge simply solidified the dancer’s resolve to keep moving forward.

While leaving, Qi Shu tugged the dancer into summarizing the battle for the livestream viewers, causing her to blush fiercely.

Losing seemed not to bring too much negative emotion to Qi Shu; she appeared more concerned about the audience’s viewing experience.

——

[You left Brewlight City]

Following the roads of East District Two, the dancer decided to return.
