Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 827: Chapter 534: Pre-Champion Battle?

”Ah~~”

Baimu let out a yawn.

To be honest, I didn’t sleep well last night; the dancer’s Sword Dance sequence was too noisy in my mind.

Even stirring a pan in the chef’s memory didn’t feel this exhausting...

Mental fatigue?

Fortunately, this memory is somewhat valuable as a reference; even if I don’t catch other Pokémon wielding ”sharp weapons,” I can still incorporate it into Mawile’s battle rhythm and elegant performances.

Just somewhat, though.

”Do you need a refreshing drink?”

The old butler’s voice rang in my ear.

Baimu quickly collected his scattered thoughts, turned his head, and softly said, ”Please, give me a cup.”

Meanwhile.

”Staying up late is not a good habit; it’s very damaging to the skin.”

A familiar yet strange voice sounded.

”Uh, lesson learned.”

Baimu glanced at Mikoli, sitting opposite, savoring a cup of fragrant tea.

The other was in a sky-blue open robe, revealing white clavicles and chest, his legs crossed, looking slightly lazy—completely different from his teacher Adam, who was always neatly dressed.

After the Mikoli Club ended,

He naturally stayed at the Gym as the current Hall Master, but this attracted loads of fanboys and fangirls. Thanks to Miss Jun Sha and the police officers for helping to disperse them, it kept the Gym’s surroundings peaceful.

Speaking of which,

At that time, Mikoli even planned to greet fans in his robe and help Miss Jun Sha persuade them, but Baimu hastily stopped him in time.

—With that outfit, wouldn’t you just be making things worse by going out?

Of course, it wasn’t said so bluntly; he wasn’t that familiar with Mikoli yet.

Luckily, Mikoli was aware of how charming he was and didn’t go out to offer visual treats to the fans after being persuaded.

The delightful breakfast ended.

Since temporarily residing at the Glazed Gym, Baimu entrusted the diet for himself and his Pokémon entirely to the old butler, which made him feel much more relaxed.

No matter if there was help from Blissey, taking care of the meals for over a dozen Pokémon daily was somewhat exhausting.

However, without the part of personally preparing and feeding the food, he inevitably felt a bit lonely.

It’s hard to have the best of both worlds...

Baimu headed leisurely to where the Pokémon were, only to be called by Mikoli halfway.

”Lord Baimu, when do you plan to challenge me?”

He asked with a smile, ”Or do you need more time to prepare? But since you’re both a trainer admired by Da Wu and a temporary student of my teacher... oh right, also the new winner of the Mikoli Club, it’s really hard for me to use ordinary standards to fight you in a Gym Battle.

”So I won’t adhere to the Gym Challenge’s power restrictions, nor will I go easy in the slightest. Even if you perform excellently, if you don’t win, I won’t give you the badge. What do you think?”

Mikoli’s face showed no malice when he said this.

But Baimu felt a bit creepy.

Wow.

What grudge, what resentment?

It sounds just like he’s threatening me.

And to blatantly say that he won’t follow the Gym Challenge’s power restriction rules, if this were recorded and posted online or to the League, even if you’re a former Champion, a current Hall Master, you’d likely be punished by the League.

To say nothing of it, vacation days would definitely be gone.

Baimu twitched his lips, met Mikoli’s hopeful gaze, and nodded in response, ”If possible, why not schedule it for this afternoon.”

”Ah! Such a straightforward answer! As expected of the Mikoli Club’s victor! Truly elegant~”

Mikoli suddenly raised his head in admiration, then looked very happy and walked away.

Is strictness a good thing?

For Baimu—

Yes.

Because his ultimate goal is not to participate in the Ever Grande Conference, but to win the conference and return to Ore to compete for the Regional Champion.

The raised intensity of the Gym Challenge and battling seriously with former Champion Mikoli serves as practical training for him and his Pokémon.

If he can’t even beat Mikoli as a Hall Master, how can he become a Regional Champion?

Let alone, in the future, facing even more monstrous and unreasonable opponents like Dan Emperor in the global championship.

Moreover, Baimu would have to stay at the Glazed Gym for a long time to learn from Adam. Even if he loses to Mikoli, there will be plenty of time to challenge again.

Mikoli’s approach could be said to be incredibly considerate.

The big one is coming!

”Guys! Good news!”

Baimu ran excitedly to his Pokémon and told them about the Gym Battle in the afternoon, and a group of eager Pokémon responded in turn.

—

A leisurely afternoon.

At the Glazed Gym’s Water Field.

Adam, with arms crossed, and the expectant-looking Liuqia were sitting in the audience, while the old butler Sebastian held up a flag, serving as the referee for this battle.

Mikoli stood on a high platform, smiling gently, and said:

”Hmm, although I casually provoked you a bit in the morning, it’s really great that you didn’t get nervous because of it.”

What a bizarre provocation.

And those words.

It’s exactly like Adam’s style; should this be called worthy of being master and apprentice?

Baimu on the opposite side felt somewhat speechless and tried hard to calm down, as this might be the strongest battle he’s faced to date, and he didn’t want his poor condition to affect his Pokémon.

Even during battles, Pokémon are always paying attention to their trainer, and their combat effectiveness is influenced by their trainer’s condition.

The old butler Sebastian loudly announced:

”The Gym Battle at the Glazed Gym now begins. The allowable Pokémon to use are five, divided into two rounds. The first round requires choosing two Pokémon for a double battle...”
