System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Quickly send him to the emergency operating room, call the Ultrasound Department, and perform a color Doppler next to the operating table.”

Lu Cheng then turned his head: ”Tian Duoduo, call Professor Chen Song, ask him to come over, I’ll temporarily do some hemostatic dressing here first...”

”He’s my uncle.” After saying that, Lu Cheng quickly opened the debridement pack, put on sterilized gloves, and began to bandage Wei Ying’s laceration.

After Lu Cheng reported the patient’s identity, Tian Duoduo and others took their positions.

At this moment, Wei Ying hadn’t completely fainted; he also recognized Lu Cheng: ”Xiao Lu...”

”Don’t talk, Uncle... it’s me.” Lu Cheng reassured, even though he wasn’t in a white coat, he could still practice in such a situation.

Zeng Huanqi shouted: ”Someone, help move him from the bed, call the operating room, start anesthesia and open the abdomen now!”

Lu Cheng said it was his uncle, implying the relationship was quite close.

After Wei Ying left, Mu Leng and Wei Ying’s wife were still hesitating. Du Daihua said: ”You’re quite lucky, originally Dr. Lu was on a break today.”

”But he rushed back. The chances of saving him have increased significantly, and more importantly, he can call Professor Chen Song to work overtime.”

”In our department, currently only Dr. Lu and Director Lin dare to call Professor Chen to work overtime.”

”Director Ding Guoqin from General Surgery also looked at the patient earlier, said the situation is serious and suggested a quick referral.”

Wei Ying’s wife, He Shanshan, who also knew Lu Cheng, asked suspiciously at this moment: ”Xiao Lu?”

Du Daihua was puzzled.

He Shanshan quickly corrected herself: ”Dr. Lu Cheng is very skilled?”

Du Daihua said: ”It depends on the comparison. In our hospital, Dr. Lu’s skills are very high, but if you compare him with Professor Chen Song from Xiangya Second Hospital, then relatively not.”

”Don’t hesitate, sign quickly. Don’t waste time.”

He Shanshan glanced at Mu Leng, who said: ”Sister-in-law, better sign first!”

”I’ll leave it to you then,” He Shanshan said anxiously, cupping her hands in a gesture of plea before signing her name.

After doing so, He Shanshan thought of calling the police.

Compared to catching someone, it was clearly more important for Wei Ying to survive first...

Seeing He Shanshan fall silent as if she’d aged several years, Mu Leng comforted: ”Sister-in-law, don’t worry. Xiao Lu has always been a good kid. Old Wei should be saved...”

He Shanshan tilted her head, apologetically saying: ”Brother Mu, I’m sorry. Wei and I don’t have our child by our side, so I can only turn to you immediately.”

Mu Leng said: ”Yes, I asked on my way here, and the doctors at the county hospital said that Professor Chen from the Emergency Department is from Xiangya Second Hospital’s Emergency Department and is very skilled...”

”But Dean Zeng said, it’s not certain we can get Professor Chen...”

He Shanshan quickly said: ”Dr. Du just said, Lu Cheng can get Professor Chen to come.”

Mu Leng squinted his eyes, nodding slowly.

...

In the operating room, after the drape was complete, the beeping of the anesthesia machine continued.

Zeng Huanqi asked hesitantly: ”Xiao Lu, should we wait for a bit for Professor Chen?”

Lu Cheng said: ”We can’t wait, the patient’s systolic pressure is only about 80 now.”

”Judging by the time, Professor Chen should be arriving soon.”

”Start the surgery timing. We’ll open the abdomen first, and when Professor Chen Song arrives, he can directly take over.” Lu Cheng called out towards the circulating nurse.

The circulating nurse pressed the timing button: ”8:23:42 PM, the surgery officially starts.”

”Call to urge the orthopedic doctors again, ask when they’ll be here.” Lu Cheng spoke as he made an incision on the abdomen with a scalpel.

On Lu Cheng’s opposite side, Zeng Huanqi immediately used a sterile gauze pad to clean the patient’s abdomen.

”Asked already, the on-duty orthopedic doctor said they’re on their way, should arrive soon.” the circulating nurse said.

Emergency surgery, the Emergency Department’s invitation, no orthopedic doctor on duty would dare to refuse to join the surgery.

Lu Cheng’s technique was smooth and skilled, surprising Zeng Huanqi even more: ”Xiao Lu, it’s been half a month since we met, your technique has improved a lot, hasn’t it?”

It was Lu Cheng’s first shift back with Zeng Huanqi after returning.

Lu Cheng said: ”Aspirator.”

”Electric knife, adjust the current.”

Before completing the laparotomy, Lu Cheng immediately maxed out his Hemostasis Technique skill points to Specialization (20/20)!

Lu Cheng’s skill points balance suddenly decreased by five, leaving only twenty-one points.

To save the life of a patient with intra-abdominal bleeding, the Hemostasis Technique is paramount.

This patient must have liver lacerations, splenic contusions, pancreatic contusions, or something similar.

Otherwise, there wouldn’t be much intra-abdominal bleeding.

After all, it’s a non-open abdominal injury, a blunt trauma.

Lu Cheng quickly opened the abdomen, revealing a massive amount of blood flooding the cavity, with some blood clotted into dark red lumps.

Everything was red, making it difficult to discern anatomical structures clearly.

”Inspect the spleen first!” Lu Cheng said after observing the situation.

Zeng Huanqi nodded, diligently helping to open the abdominal retractors.

At that moment, an extra pair of hands appeared, it was Han Xiaoping: ”Brother Lu, let me take over this retractor. Daihua called to say your uncle is injured.”

Lu Cheng relaxed his grip, not replying: ”The direction of the retractor can be a bit higher—”

Putting down the retractor, Lu Cheng took a hemostat, then tried to recall Professor Chen Song’s teachings regarding blind-vision instrumental hemostasis technique.

According to Professor Chen Song, once the level of hemostasis technique reaches a certain level, one can roughly determine which artery is bleeding through the specific turbulence of blood flow in the abdominal blood pool.
