System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Chen Song’s tone and voice were somewhat altered.

His eyes, like torches, pierced through Lu Cheng’s body, trying to see if Lu Cheng regarded everyone as fools and simpletons.

Lu Cheng hurriedly shook his head, ”Teacher Chen, I didn’t mean that.”

Seeing Lu Cheng’s honest expression, Chen Song continued, ”I don’t know the intention behind your proposals today.”

”But I must tell you, a second original creation is much easier than the first.”

”Don’t think that just because you’ve made some improvements to the Tendon Suturing Technique, you can tackle substantive organ techniques.”

”Breaking through from one hundred to one thousand is indeed a tenfold increase in difficulty, but moving from 0 to 1 is theoretically an infinite increase.”

Chen Song couldn’t just pressure Lu Cheng without reason: ”Of course, having such ideas is a good thing, but we can be cautious and set them aside for now!”

”For instance, we can set a small goal first — let’s learn the Liver Preservation Surgery next. Once you’ve understood the liver, gallbladder, spleen, and pancreas surgeries thoroughly, we can revisit this topic.”

”By that time, you might have new insights; you might even find your current thoughts somewhat amusing...”

Chen Song wasn’t just rejecting Lu Cheng’s suggestion; he was giving him specific guidance on what to focus on next.

Because you can only discuss ’original’ and ’improvement’ after you’ve fully understood and mastered various organ preservation surgeries!

After all, Chen Song truly regarded Lu Cheng as a student, not just in name only. Chen Song had earnestly taught Lu Cheng a lot, and even considered mentoring Lu Cheng closely.

Tong Yuan’an had tried to undermine things multiple times, but Chen Song stood his ground.

Although the current situation contradicted his original intent, Chen Song wasn’t resentful or truly angry with Lu Cheng.

If Lu Cheng had chosen to refuse Zhong Junyun purely for personal gain, Chen Song would have felt that Lu Cheng wasn’t mature enough.

Lu Cheng, of course, wasn’t speaking without basis. After seriously listening to Professor Chen Song, he carefully checked his own panel —

[Specialist Techniques: Gallbladder Removal Surgery (Skill Level 10/10), Appendectomy (Skill Level 10/10), Splenectomy (Skill Level 10/10), Spleen Preservation Surgery(Specialization 0/20), Gallbladder Preservation Surgery (Specialization 0/20)]

[Suturing System Professional Basic Skills: ... Membrane Suturing Skill (Skill Level 9/10)]

[Suturing Specialist Skills: Modified Kessler Suture Technique (Specialization 0/20), Modified Tang Method Suturing Skill (Specialization 6/20)... Spleen Tissue Suturing Skill (Beginner 2/5)...]

Specialist Techniques, Suturing System Professional Basic Skills, and Suturing Specialist Skills are different operations and techniques.

After carefully reviewing the technical items on the panel, Lu Cheng once more pondered this suturing technique and, confirming it, said:

”Teacher Chen, I have some ideas. How about buying some pig organs, and I’ll demonstrate them to you?”

Chen Song replied, ”Of course you can!~”

”Xiao Lu, let me tell you, failure is the mother of success. Every suturing technique you see today is the result of countless failures leading to one success.”

”Any surgeon will have their own understanding and insights into different operations and techniques.”

”First, you need to understand and gain insights, then practice the operation, which might fail or might succeed.”

”Like how you previously found the correct path to improve the technique instantly, that’s called an epiphany, and such occurrences are very rare.”

Lu Cheng knew he couldn’t clearly explain things to Professor Chen Song now; perhaps after practicing, Professor Chen Song might understand something:

”Teacher Chen, then I’ll trouble you for your guidance at that time.”

”Sure, you go ahead.” Since Lu Cheng was still like an unafraid young calf, Chen Song wouldn’t suppress him just to target him.

...

Pork spleen isn’t a high-demand item at regular markets, and is usually quite cheap.

Upon receiving Lu Cheng’s message, although Mu Nanshu didn’t know what Lu Cheng intended to do, she was relatively free, so she visited three markets and bought six of them in total.

Just after Mu Nanshu returned home, she sent Lu Cheng a screenshot, saying, ”Aunt Hui just messaged me that she went to the market, but I’m already home!~”

”If it was twenty minutes earlier, I could have waited for her at the market.”

Lu Cheng joked in response, ”It’s fine, my mom won’t be lost.”

Tian Hui was swift in both selling vegetables and evading city management.

Mu Nanshu then rolled her eyes in emoji before asking, ”Why do you want to buy these pig spleens? Shouldn’t you be buying pig feet?”

”To practice surgical techniques. Pig feet are for practicing Tendon Suturing Skills.”

”Spleen Preservation Surgery should be practiced this way.” Since Professor Chen Song hadn’t confirmed the validity of this suturing technique yet, Lu Cheng didn’t want to explain everything to Mu Nanshu.

After all, joking too much could seem like showing off.

Once there’s substantial evidence, Mu Nanshu will understand on her own.

”Oh, then I’ll ask around tomorrow; you should be able to get them directly from the slaughterhouse!” Mu Nanshu had done animal experiments before and was quite experienced with this.

”That works; I didn’t even think about asking the slaughterhouse.” Lu Cheng replied.

After sending the message, Lu Cheng glanced at Professor Chen Song, noticing him lying flat with an expression of indifference to the world.

Lu Cheng wanted to seek more guidance from Chen Song, but seeing his expression, he hesitated and ultimately decided not to disturb Professor Chen’s ’tranquility’...

At 7:40 PM, after having dinner, Lu Cheng accompanied Mu Nanshu to the gate of Integrity Square District.

Mu Nanshu noticed that Lu Cheng seemed a bit distracted: ”Why are you in such a hurry? You seem a bit off.”

Lu Cheng thought for a moment before replying: ”I’m going back to practice my technique. Otherwise, why would I have asked you to buy pig spleens today?”

”I have my own plans!~ I’ll let you know once I have a clue.”

Mu Nanshu nodded slightly: ”You’re so mysterious. I won’t ask then... but, don’t buy chocolates or the like; I’m on a diet...”

Mu Nanshu was a month younger than Lu Cheng, and with October approaching, she thought Lu Cheng was preparing a birthday gift for her!

Lu Cheng was momentarily stunned, realizing what Mu Nanshu meant.

Looking at Mu Nanshu again, she was walking with her hands behind her back, stepping evenly, humming a tune...

Lu Cheng promptly returned home and locked himself in his Training Room.

He once again checked his panel.

This panel certainly couldn’t spawn things from nothing; skills Lu Cheng was completely ignorant of wouldn’t be recorded.

However, it seemed this panel had the ability to independently optimize, improve, and combine different skills.

For example, when Lu Cheng previously thought about improving the Tendon Suturing Skill, an unnamed entry appeared.

In the days after returning, Lu Cheng considered whether he could integrate the Suturing Skill into the Spleen Preservation Surgery, and thus the Spleen Suturing Skill emerged.

After thoroughly recalling the methods Professor Chen Song taught about creating varied simulated AAST score spleen rupture cases, he began operating.

Ten minutes later, four spleen rupture specimens of AAST score IV appeared.

Lu Cheng activated the recording button on the camera and began suturing one by one...

”First attempt, failure.”

”Second attempt, failure.”

”Third attempt, failure.”

Lu Cheng could only add points to enhance his Spleen Suturing Skill to a skilled level.

”Fourth attempt, still failure.”

Lu Cheng remade the ”specimen”!

On the fifth and sixth attempts, the fine layer-by-layer spleen suturing was finally successful, and Lu Cheng showed a hint of joy.

Sitting down properly, he removed his gloves and washed his hands.

After watching the entire process he recorded, he clipped key moments of the video, packaged it, and sent it to Chen Song...
