The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1248: Chapter 1248: Do They Really Want to Hold a Celebration Party for Nathalie Quinlan?

Nathalie Quinlan paused for a moment, the video on the laptop had already gone dark.

She propped her arm and closed the Line chat dialog with Stephanie Tanzil. Barely after closing it, Stephanie’s avatar started bouncing again in the message bar.

Nathalie had already taken out the sheet music from the drawer, and in her left hand was an extra pencil. She noticed the Line avatar flashing incessantly in the corner of the laptop.

Nathalie propped her arm again, furrowed her brows slightly, and clicked it open.

[Stephanie: By the way, Nathalie, I forgot to tell you, the MV director we found this time is George Lucas.]

Nathalie squinted her eyes at the name sent over and finally sparked some interest.

On the other side, Imperial Hotel.

The black Bentley came to a stop at the entrance, and the valet quickly came up to help the two open the car door.

”Mrs. Zachmann, Ms. Zachmann.”

In the backseat, Caryn Zachmann and Celine Tucker sat side by side, each dressed to the nines.

Celine Tucker wore a dress.

Caryn Zachmann wore a light yellow dress paired with an off-white long coat, exuding a full socialite vibe.

The two got out of the car one after the other, originally a very eye-catching mother-daughter duo, but neither Celine Tucker nor Caryn Zachmann’s face looked very pleasant.

Not exactly sour-faced, but definitely not in a joyful mood!

Especially Caryn Zachmann; her oval face’s expression grew extremely bad when she raised her head after getting out of the car and saw the slogan in bright red letters continuously playing on the broadcast at the Imperial Hotel entrance—[Congratulations to Nathalie Quinlan on achieving success in the software competition].

She nearly squeezed her purse and turned back.

”Caryn, what did I tell you before we came?” Celine Tucker detected her thoughts, her gaze cold, taking a deep breath before speaking: ”...No matter when, you must keep your cool.”

Caryn Zachmann couldn’t quite manage to keep her emotions off her face like her, her almond eyes slightly widened, feeling both angry and somewhat embarrassed, and she lowered her voice: ”Does my dad and my brother want to throw Nathalie a victory party?”

Celine Tucker was more composed, adjusting the hair on her shoulder, speaking unhurriedly: ”What else did you expect?”

Crazy!

Caryn Zachmann bit back her anger, holding it in without blurting it out.

Their families had already split, Nathalie just got through a tournament round, she didn’t win first place, why would her dad and them need to do this?

Celine Tucker could see the agitation simmering under her cool exterior and warned her in advance: ”Let me remind you, no matter what, you must stay calm and finish the meal today. Don’t let your dad sense your dissatisfaction at the table. Got it?”

Caryn Zachmann’s red lips were nearly pressed into a line, she took deep breaths repeatedly until she finally calmed down a bit, clutching her purse with tightly pinched fingers: ”I understand.”

”Hmm.”

Celine Tucker was angry too, and couldn’t understand what Leonardy Zachmann and Hendrik Zachmann were thinking either, only that Hendrik had talked to her back home about the importance of Nathalie getting into the competition this time.

Hendrik said Nathalie advancing in the tournament was an honor for the country.

They wanted to throw Nathalie a celebration party, could she say no?

But inside, she felt a little unwilling!

Celine Tucker’s face was somber, slightly gloomy, her gaze directed at the words of congratulations on the Imperial Hotel’s entrance. The jealousy she had barely pressed down nearly erupted again.

She forced herself to look away, pretending not to see it, while walking inside, she asked her daughter: ”Did you go to the TV station today?”
