The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1202: Chapter 1202: Lowie Wilmar: The Feeling of Being Pitied by a Girl Who Has Secretly Admired You for Years

”I’m glad you came. I received that notebook the other day. Don’t worry, I’ll fulfill my dad’s wishes and send money to the people listed in the notebook every month.”

The small notebook Nathalie Quinlan handed him—he checked the names and found they were all his father’s old comrades.

Yonathan Wilmar pressed his lips together, his face full of emotion, and said softly to the girl, ”Nathalie, thank you. If it weren’t for you...”

He had only spoken halfway when Lowie Wilmar came over and interrupted him by grabbing his arm, nonchalantly, as if he didn’t care about anything: ”Dad, why are you talking so much? That’s enough. Let Nathalie Quinlan go in first. You’re blocking her at the door; what will others think?”

The Wilmar Family received many guests today for the memorial, all influential figures from Beijing. Yonathan Wilmar was in charge of overseeing the Wilmar Family affairs.

He was undoubtedly the main character today.

The main character leaving aside so many guests to chat with a young girl was eye-catching in itself.

Many people were looking in this direction.

Scrutinizing Nathalie Quinlan, trying to figure out her background.

Having weathered many storms himself, Yonathan finally realized, with his son’s reminder, that now was not the time for reminiscence.

He rubbed his forehead and smiled helplessly: ”Look at me, I’ve been so busy I’m confused.”

Then he looked up, full of apology, at the girl: ”Ms. Quinlan, please don’t mind. After I’m done with this, I’ll personally visit to thank you.”

Nathalie, not skilled in handling such occasions, felt rather restless. She raised her hand instinctively to pull at her hat brim but then remembered she hadn’t worn her duckbill cap out, and lowered her hand again. Her cold, white skin dazzled under the sunlight, porcelain white and delicate: ”Uncle Wilmar, you don’t have to be polite with me. I said before that I’m friends with Lowie, and Grandpa Wilmar is also my elder. I’m just sorry I couldn’t help.”

For the first time, she couldn’t snatch someone back from Death God.

Due to Mr. Wilmar’s incident, she realized for the first time that death was really close to herself.

Life is so fleeting, like in the blink of an eye or the loosening of a hand, a person is just gone.

Nathalie pressed her lips together, and as she passed a young man, she lifted her hand gently patting his shoulder, her face expressionless while her action was comforting: ”My condolences.”

She withdrew her hand immediately, pocketed one hand, and walked straight toward the mourning hall.

Lowie kept watching until the girl was far away.

He only then saw the girl’s gradually receding silhouette.

He looked dazed for a second, corner of his mouth rising, almost revealing his usual carefree smile from his days in McKinney, but it only rose halfway before falling back, leaving endless bitterness.

He spent three years in McKinney, always thinking about how he could get closer, more intimate with Nathalie.

He hadn’t expected that the moment his cherished one finally approached would be under such circumstances.

This feeling of being pitied by the girl he had secretly loved for so many years...

Lowie tugged at the corner of his mouth and almost swore aloud.

Damn it!

Mr. Wilmar’s mourning hall was set up very solemnly.

The guests coming to pay their respects queued up in an orderly fashion, each person stepping forward to place their white flower in front of the mourning hall, bowing, and then letting the next person take a turn.

Nathalie was at the back of the queue.

Sadam Vinson, after bowing to the elderly person in the photo, placed his white flower down, turned, and saw the girl in the crowd, dazzling even without trying to stand out.
