The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1215: Chapter 1215: Final Results Three Days Later

Edric Yancey felt extremely aggrieved, he wanted to cry but stubbornly held back, refusing to shed tears in front of Nathalie Quinlan.

Nathalie looked at the little one burying his head, not eating, not crying, just visibly downcast. She felt somewhat helpless yet amused. When Candice Yancey couldn’t coax him, Nathalie softly asked the little guy, ”Do you really want to live with me?”

”I might not have time to look after you.”

Edric suddenly lifted his head, his eyes still red, but their shape was incredibly beautiful, perfectly inheriting the deep contours of the Yancey Family. His skin was fair and tender, making him extremely cute: ”...I can take care of myself!”

”You’re only five years old. Are you sure you can really take care of yourself?”

Nathalie spoke with him not like a child, very seriously: ”When I’m busy, I might not be able to look after you. Not just not having time to play with you, but possibly not even noticing if you haven’t eaten. Can you still take care of yourself?”

She was speaking the truth.

She often forgets to eat when she’s busy.

She doesn’t remember herself, let alone taking care of someone else’s meals.

Edric is still a child, in a growing stage; these are very real issues.

”Uncle Alfred is here.” Edric had already thought of a countermeasure, answering Nathalie’s question fluently: ”If Uncle Alfred isn’t here, then my little uncle is.”

He mentioned his little uncle with reluctance.

Incredibly reluctant.

You could almost see disdain written in his eyes.

In the end, he quietly said, ”If both Uncle Alfred and my little uncle aren’t here, I still have the phone. I can call grandma, I can take care of myself.”

Candice Yancey felt heartbroken, so in her little dearest’s heart, Alfred Garland is greater than Amadeus Yancey... Amadeus Yancey is greater than her...

She, as the biological grandma, actually ranked at the bottom!

Candice gathered up her shattered heart, lifted her head again, sat primly and spoke to the girl sitting across from her, ”Nathalie, if you’re busy then it’s fine, I’ll tell Edric, you don’t have to accommodate him.”

Edric’s big eyes instantly became dim.

Unwilling, but not wanting Nathalie to feel troubled, he held back without making a sound.

Nathalie saw his eyes suddenly dim and lifted her eyes to look at Candice: ”It’s okay, I’m not particularly busy. If he wants to follow me, let him be with me. I’m just worried I might not take care of him.”

Candice hadn’t expected Nathalie to agree, she looked surprised: ”That’s okay! Edric has a little genius watch, if something’s up, he’ll call me. Just keep an eye on him when you have time.”

”Alright.”

Nathalie picked up her chopsticks again, grabbed a slice of potato and placed it in the tomato soup, which counted as a sign of agreement.

”I’ll do my best.”

Seeing her put a slice of potato in for Edric, Candice felt a tiny bit worried about Edric living with Amadeus Yancey and Nathalie, wondering if two young people could take care of a child properly. But seeing Nathalie’s smooth, natural actions, her last bit of worry was set aside.

Then she remembered Nathalie’s competition: ”Nathalie, when will the selection results for the software competition be announced?”

”I think it’s three days later.”

Nathalie dunked her tripe into the hot pot, the red oil boiling, swirling with spicy and fresh aroma, stimulating the taste buds, increasing appetite.

Nathalie always loved spicy food, especially when eating with Candice and Lily.

Hence, she was exceptionally relaxed, her posture wasn’t very straighter, her arm rested loosely on the chair, her long legs crossed under the table, looking quite casual.
