The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1236: Chapter 1236: She participates to bring glory to the country.

Valencia Jett was at a loss for words, changed her stance: ”What if that’s exactly what she thinks? Qiao doesn’t like to lie. Since she’s told you she wants to be the world’s number one, maybe she just wants to have fun.”

The leader of the Red Alliance, Sun, the top-ranked hacker on the Heavenly Ranking, such a person going to join a software competition, apart from the reason Nathalie Quinlan herself stated, Valencia couldn’t find any reason that would make Nathalie specifically run to participate in the competition.

”You don’t know her.” Khendy Lordon suddenly interrupted her, speaking calmly yet powerfully: ”She’s not someone who loves to play. This person is lazy; few people or things can make her put her heart into it.”

Valencia thought about the girl she had known over the years and wholeheartedly agreed: ”That’s true.”

They were kidnapped together back then and sent for training.

Finally, they came out together.

Khendy Lordon lost his kneecap, and since then, he could only sit in a wheelchair and was never able to walk like ordinary people again.

Valencia’s dark eyes turned to look at the man in the wheelchair, puzzled: ”Then why do you say Nathalie wants to participate in this competition?”

Why?

Khendy Lordon had been in Beijing for a few days, investigating Nathalie Quinlan for days.

Nathalie Quinlan was difficult to investigate; even he could only find a few scattered phrases, but with his understanding of Nathalie Quinlan, he could judge why Nathalie was participating in the competition solely based on the fragments he found.

”In the past, few people and things could stay in her heart, but now it’s different.”

In just one year, Nathalie Quinlan had let go of too many people and things in her heart.

Khendy Lordon squinted his eyes, seeming like a cold, desolate night with a star hidden in the chilly lonely night. Valencia was stunned.

Just in that moment of her daze.

The man in the wheelchair, with a calm voice: ”She’s competing to bring glory to the country.”

”?????”

Valencia’s expression was as if she had seen a ghost, unable to digest the information he revealed for a moment: ”Are you joking?”

Nathalie Quinlan participating in the software competition because she wanted to bring glory to the country?

This...

Too unlike Nathalie Quinlan’s personality.

Completely not something Nathalie Quinlan would have done before!

In the Illegal Zone, they were just a group of undisciplined, unorganized, faithless people.

’Bring glory to the country,’ a reason like that seemed utterly inconceivable to people like them who didn’t even have a nationality.

She knew Nathalie had nationality and a household registration.

Because when they escaped from inside back then, they chose not to return, only Nathalie chose to return to her original family.

But sometimes people can go back, and some things can never go back.

Then came the Quinlan family’s crazy series of self-destructive actions.

”Didn’t she say earlier that she stayed just to eventually return, to find out who her biological parents were?”

She contacted Nathalie a short while ago to ask if Nathalie had found out the cause of Lynette Kingsley’s death.

But Nathalie said she hadn’t figured it out yet.

Valencia was also helping with the investigation privately; if she found any clues, she would send Nathalie a message. She shook her hand, frowning: ”Is she too deeply involved in the messy affairs of Beijing, easily causing her to suffer?”

Khendy Lordon’s White Jade-like fingers tapped on the wheelchair’s armrest, which was embedded with rounded and smooth decorations, not revealing any clues from the material.

Yet the voice was extremely calm, revealing a domineering arrogance completely at odds with his appearance: ”If she wants to play, that’s fine; we are here anyway.”

Valencia thought it was true.

Anyway, they were still there.

Khendy Lordon: ”By the way, help me buy a house in Beijing.”

”I don’t like living in hotels, cleanliness issues.”
