The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1206: Chapter 911: Nathalie: Just happened to know a bit about computers

Sadam Vinson was still struggling with his tea-making skills. Hearing her words, he looked up, thought for a moment, and said, ”I think there is such a competition.”

”Nathalie, why are you asking about this competition? Are you planning to participate?”

No, that’s not Nathalie Quinlan’s character.

Sadam Vinson just thought so.

The girl had quite delicate features and paused for just a second before saying, ”Yes, I want to sign up. Do you know if Tsinghua University has spots available?”

Sadam Vinson hadn’t spoken yet.

Amadeus Yancey continued, ”Are you talking about the World Software Championship?”

Nathalie Quinlan leaned her face on her hand, her eyes dark, and realized that the software competition was called the World Software Championship, nodding, ”I guess so.”

”Why do you suddenly want to participate?”

He shared the same thought with Sadam Vinson; Nathalie Quinlan isn’t the type who likes to join the crowd, and unlike Caryn Zachmann and most people, she doesn’t care about fame.

If she cared about those hollow titles, she wouldn’t have caused so much trouble because of Lighten Chaser in the first place.

She just hates trouble.

Even though she is at the top of the industry in many areas, she rarely talks about it outside.

Let alone participate in competitions to compete for ranking.

Nathalie Quinlan moved a bit, changed her pose, and sat with her legs crossed, looking casual. But when she spoke, her expression was somewhat serious: ”It’s nothing. I just suddenly want to do something for the country. Then I thought I don’t have any special skills, so I remembered there’s such a competition, and since I’m decent with computers, I wanted to give it a try.”

Sadam Vinson’s mouth twitched hard when he heard her calmly say, ’decent with computers’.

A master is a master.

What Nathalie Quinlan calls ”decent with computers,”

probably most technicians outside fall below the level of ”not decent with computers”!

Amadeus Yancey nodded but didn’t say much, telling her: ”There is such a competition, and Tsinghua University does have spots available.”

Nathalie Quinlan nodded in understanding.

As long as Tsinghua University can register for the competition, that’s alright.

Mr. Wilmar’s matter touched her deeply; she couldn’t say exactly what touched her but felt quite uncomfortable in her heart.

Especially after hearing about all the contributions Mr. Wilmar made to Guo Jia when he was young.

It seems she has never actively done anything.

Lowie Wilmar said that Mr. Wilmar, even at the peak of his illness, insisted on working until three in the morning every day before he was willing to sleep, often saying: she dared not lie down, fearing that once she laid down, she would fall asleep. He still had many things unfinished, and if he didn’t do them, who would? Some things always need someone to do them. He was willing to be the one to do them.

Nathalie Quinlan thought of this, her heart inexplicably clenched, as if pricked by a fine needle, not painful, but somewhat uncomfortable.

Her expression had no change, but her mindset seemed to have shifted.

Amadeus Yancey watched the girl frown, relax, then frown again; something seemed different than before, yet Nathalie Quinlan was still herself. His gaze deepened: ”However, this is a world-class competition. If you want to participate, you can bring a software you developed to school tomorrow, find Mr. Wafford to register. The school will first select the software that best represents the school’s level and then send it to the organizing committee. The domestic organizing committee will select the best one to represent the country in the competition.”

Nathalie Quinlan roughly understood the registration process, nodded, didn’t waste words, got up and said: ”Alright, then I’ll go prepare the software.”

She has developed many pieces of software on her laptop, but many are just things she works on for fun in her free time and has never been released publicly.
