The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1214: Chapter 1214: Want to Live Together with Nathalie Quinlan

Candice Yancey shifted the topic back to the software competition.

She asked her some questions about the competition.

In the end, she was quite confident and said with a smile, ”I believe you can definitely be chosen!”

She paused again, voicing her own worries, ”But, it’s not necessarily a good thing if you get selected, what if...”

This year, the competition is being held domestically. What if she can’t even get through the group stage here? That would be embarrassing.

She didn’t want Nathalie Quinlan to get involved in such a mess but unconditionally supported her decision: ”Forget it, thinking about this now is useless. Let’s wait for the final results, if it turns out you’re selected, we can talk about it then.”

”Yeah.” Nathalie didn’t take a software competition to heart. Seeing the beef in the pot being cooked, she put the tender, cooked beef into Lily’s bowl, then lifted her chin slightly and said softly, ”Eat up, there’s no chili in this.”

Edric Yancey’s obsidian-like eyes lit up, nodding his head like a pecking chick, he quickly grabbed his chopsticks, afraid Nathalie might think he didn’t like it.

He took a bite, with his mouth still full, he spoke to Nathalie unclearly, ”Sister, you eat too~”

Nathalie shifted her posture, resting her hand on the chair, sitting sideways, not in a hurry to eat: ”You go ahead.”

Candice Yancey watched her little grandson showing such affection for Nathalie, feeling a bit disheartened yet helpless. She said to Nathalie slowly, ”Edric complained every day about wanting to come back while doing rehabilitation abroad, just because he missed you. Nathalie, do you have time?”

Nathalie looked at her, with gentle eyes, seemingly waiting for her to speak.

Candice Yancey held her head, shook it, and chuckled speechlessly. At her age, she had to worry about both her daughter’s matters and her grandson’s.

But she had only this one big grandson, born from her daughter’s difficult labor, she couldn’t bear to ignore him.

So Candice Yancey put aside her dignity, thick-skinnedly said, ”Did Amadeus Yancey tell you, Edric wants to live with you.”

”I’m concerned because you just started university, and Edric is still young. I’m afraid he might unknowingly disturb you...”

Edric Yancey was obediently sitting in his seat, eating the beef that Nathalie cooked for him. Hearing his grandma’s words, he suddenly put down his chopsticks, tightened his little face, and very seriously replied, ”I won’t disturb sister!”

Seeing Nathalie looking at him.

The little guy blushed again, angrily yet shyly explained to Candice Yancey, ”I won’t bother sister. Uncle Alfred is also there, if I have any issues, I’ll go to Uncle Alfred, not sister.”

Doesn’t he have an uncle too?

Thinking of his little uncle, Edric Yancey secretly pouted, preferring to mention Uncle Alfred rather than Amadeus Yancey, almost having ’jealousy’ written all over his face.

He turned away his small face, sullenly said, ”...Anyway, I won’t trouble sister.”

The little guy pursed his lips, looking stubborn yet pitiful.

Candice Yancey’s heart twisted, and she immediately put down her chopsticks to comfort him, ”Oh dear, grandma didn’t mean that, I wasn’t saying you’re troublesome, I’m just worried about Nathalie who just started her first year, she’s busy with her studies... Grandma wasn’t faulting you.”

”...” Edric Yancey said nothing, clutching the seam of his pants with both hands, his head lowered, his eyes reddened.

If it’s not that meaning, what does it mean, isn’t it just not letting him live with his sister?

But when they took him out for rehabilitation, they promised that as long as he behaved and recovered early, he could live with his sister when he returned.

He only agreed to go abroad because of this.

Else, he wouldn’t have gone!

But the results, he went out, kept his part of the bargain, but the adults choose not to keep their word.

They’re all liars!
