Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

”Exact location? How many fleets are attacking?”

Bai Quan reported a coordinate to Chen Ming, then said, ”Preliminary data from over there indicates there’s a mothership equipped with two Energy Peak Cannon Heads and a Slayer.”

”Accompanied by over a thousand cruisers, around three thousand destroyers, and approximately two thousand frigates.”

Upon hearing about the Spiritual Energy Ridge Weapon, Chen Ming instantly recalled the large-scale simulated battlefield he had participated in earlier.

His opponents had utilized the Mechanical Race’s mothership to attack his homeland from the rear, killing all his teammates and destroying several planets.

And the mothership at that time was using the Spiritual Energy Ridge Weapon, the Slayer.

It could unleash a Mind Pulse that drove all life on the entire planet insane.

Even in the simulation, it was a scene of devastation. If such a thing happened in reality...

Chen Ming subconsciously glanced at Bai Quan’s expression and noticed he wasn’t overly anxious or nervous, indicating such dire events were unlikely to happen.

He relaxed a little, but after hearing the overall fleet size, he couldn’t help but say, ”Is that all...?”

”Is that all?”

Bai Quan lengthened his tone and asked with raised eyebrows, ”Do you have a misunderstanding about military power? That’s the main ship, over a thousand cruisers; remember the scale of the battles when we rescued you from Dusk.”

After saying that, Bai Quan suddenly seemed to realize something, and he scrutinized Chen Ming carefully for a few moments.

”...”

In silence, Chen Ming carefully recalled, while the rescue mission had failed due to various reasons, the scale of the fight against Dusk was indeed substantial.

Several main ships and over ten thousand fleets fought fiercely in the Dusk Star Realm.

This might be the illusion he had from casually controlling hundreds of thousands of Mechanical Race cruisers a few days ago and being able to control more in the upcoming days.

”What’s the situation now?”

”Don’t expect too much from the star systems in the Edge Star Realm; their defensive forces can at most delay the mothership. But our fleet has already set sail, and a psychic squad has gone ahead. If everything goes smoothly, there will be results soon.”

Upon hearing this, several questions arose in Chen Ming’s mind: ”The location of the Mechanical Race’s attack is not far from us; isn’t dispatching this mothership a giveaway?”

”Also, the psychic squad you mentioned earlier, is it the kind you talked about before? What kind of spiritual energy does this psychic have?”

Bai Quan answered Chen Ming’s questions one by one: ”Who knows what the Mechanical Race is thinking; the front line had no substantial resistance until now when we made the first counterattack, and it turns out to be in this position. I feel they have some other arrangements.”

”As for the psychic squad, it is crafted to Empire standards, but they are our legion’s own people, and their spiritual energy is controlling telecommunication signals.”

”Oh? Sounds like a spiritual energy specifically restraining the Mechanical Race.”

”Yes.”

Bai Quan nodded and said, ”It’s an interesting spiritual energy, rare like yours, relying on artificially created technology as its foundation, and there’s another coincidental thing.”

”What is it?”

”You’ll know very soon.”

Bai Quan spoke all the way, leading Chen Ming to the command center’s center, beside Qiu Bowen, at the deputy commander’s position.

Here, aside from the main command position, there should only be two deputy command positions, one for Bai Quan, and the other for another vice admiral who was not present.

But there was an extra one this time, clearly assigned to Chen Ming.

Next to Qiu Bowen, the central control console featured five screens of varying sizes displaying all sorts of highly complex data.

Chen Ming had begun learning command technology a long time ago, and by now, he could understand the content on these screens.

The central screen among the five showed the Mechanical Race’s surprise attack star system and adjacent regions’ star maps, visually displaying the fleets being dispatched there.

Not only did it have various symbols representing different meanings moving across it, but increasingly more new data was being added.

Data from the front was being transmitted back, continually updating new information.

The two screens on the left displayed a complete map of the Empire and Mechanical Race bordering regions.

The screen showed the Empire had pushed the front line into the Mechanical Race Star Realm’s interior, forming a noticeable concave shape.

The location of the Mechanical Race’s attack on the Empire was at the edge of this concave shape.

The other screen depicted the Beinu Star Realm’s map and data reported from Beinu divisions.

After all, Beinu could now be considered under the Fourteenth Legion’s actual control, serving as the fleet’s station pre-war outbreak.

It was also a vital logistics hub for the front-line military headquarters, thus maintaining constant contact and monitoring.

The two screens on the right included one receiving real-time battle report summaries from the command post in the star system invaded by the Mechanical Race.

The other was an assortment of intelligence sent by everyone in touch with the command center regarding the war.

These intelligence reports were aggregated to enable decision-making by those in the command center.

The five screens combined were dizzying to watch.
