Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Something suddenly happened over there at An Wuping.

”It has finally arrived.”

Chen Ming thought to himself.

He didn’t rush to have the Insect Race Fleet set off again, but instead ordered the Insect Queen to reorganize the fleet.

With the incident on An Wuping’s side, there was no need to stay on this mostly mined Insect Hive Planet anymore.

The Insect Queen needs to go somewhere else, to find the next... or the next hundred Insect Hive Planets.

Perhaps near the Mechanical Race Star Realm, or perhaps near the area Chen Ming is expanding.

After arranging the task for the Insect Queen.

Chen Ming transferred his main consciousness over to An Wuping’s place, where he had lived a peaceful life for some time.

An Wuping recently, under part of his consciousness’s control, opened his own room door.

Standing outside the door were Liang Fei and Li Wei.

Their expressions were quite serious, seeming as if they were worried about something.

Chen Ming sensed that what they were specifically worried about was An Wuping.

After all, although his main consciousness had not been there, his partial consciousness has always been monitoring this place, continuously controlling An Wuping to do what An Wuping should be doing.

For instance, when Chen Ming’s entity and other proxies were working hard, An Wuping was running around traveling and enjoying delicacies, alleviating mental stress.

And establishing new relationships with colleagues and friends.

Of course, the best of these relationships for An Wuping were those with Liang Fei and Li Wei, forged through shared peril on Yunluo Star.

Especially his close relationship with Li Wei; after all, Li Wei’s survival in leaving Yunluo Star was due to An Wuping saving his life with Spiritual Energy.

So now, after Chen Ming proactively leaked information related to the Insect Race, An Wuping’s incident transpired, leading to this reaction from the two.

Yet Chen Ming still pretended to be ignorant, asking, ”What’s wrong?”

”Someone is looking for you.”

”For what purpose?”

”Unclear, it seems like someone from a very senior level within our department arranged for a minister from an independent regulatory department of the Empire. Be cautious.”

”Alright.”

Chen Ming just agreed.

His terminal then received a call.

It was made by Liang Fei’s superior, who could also be considered An Wuping’s current boss, asking Chen Ming to go to a certain place in the government office building.

Chen Ming nodded to the two in front of him, then set off.

Soon, he arrived at the government building where he had worked for some time, reaching a corner room he had never visited during his tenure.

There is a man with sunglasses at the door, who nodded to Chen Ming and stepped aside for him to enter.

Chen Ming glanced at him; he seemed to be someone from the Empire.

But he said nothing and placed his hand on the door handle.

His motion suddenly paused.

Because he could sense that the door handle in front of him, the entire door, even the walls adjacent to the door, the whole room were made of Silent Alloy.

Is such seriousness necessary?

Chen Ming frowned but still pushed open the closed room door.

Inside, there was only a table, two chairs, and a lamp embedded in the wall above.

And a person sitting on the chair.

Nothing else.

”Hello, An Wuping, we should have met several times recently, right?”

The seated person waved to Chen Ming, indicating for him to sit opposite.

After sitting down, Chen Ming nodded and said, ”Yes, Minister Hou from the National Regulatory Department. Is there something you need from me?”

Minister Hou pushed several photos towards An Wuping and said, ”Have a look at these first.”

Chen Ming took the photos and found that they were the same ones he had previously given to Bai Quan.

All one could say is that the speed of information dissemination was rather fast.

And the Empire’s response was rather swift too.

Thinking this, Chen Ming had An Wuping put on a neutral expression.

”Do you have some cooperation with Chen Ming? About those Insect Race biological spaceships, did you collaborate with him on them?”

Minister Hou said in a considerate manner, ”It’s not that you can’t have collaborations privately; it’s just that matters concerning the Insect Race touch upon various aspects.”

”The Thorn Insect Race was once an enemy of the Empire. Today, they have evolved to have the capability to contend with the Empire and have begun expanding, so it is imperative to ascertain this clearly, to have response measures.”

”From the personal things you’ve done before, I certainly trust that you are a good person.”

”But the Thorn Insect Race is not; the Empire needs to learn more.”

An Wuping sighed deeply and asked, ”So, what are your thoughts now?”

Upon hearing the term ”your thoughts,” Minister Hou immediately shifted his originally feigned innocent and probing attitude, very decisively and swiftly asked, ”Do you know Chen Ming?”

As he asked, his gaze remained fixedly on An Wuping’s face, attempting to discern something from An Wuping with this sudden inquiry.

Naturally, Chen Ming wouldn’t disappoint him, then demonstrated by causing An Wuping’s micro-expressions to alter slightly.

These changes suggested to Minister Hou that An Wuping indeed knew Chen Ming.

Even if An Wuping remained silent now, it wouldn’t prevent Minister Hou from gleaning some self-assumed correct information.

Minister Hou continued by saying, ”As far as we know, Chen Ming has been utilizing his Spiritual Energy for external expansion, and it began quite some time ago.”

”And that Insect Hive Planet is on his expansive route, not exactly far from the Empire; once you are out there, it only requires a little exploration to easily discover, but...”
