Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

The Insect Race Cruiser crash-landed from space.

The violent impact without any deceleration made it unbearable, resulting in its instant death at the moment of collision.

However, the Insect Race inside the Cruiser survived while the impact shattered the ground and the Cruiser itself.

They took advantage of the time when the nearby Mechanical Race hadn’t surrounded them yet, infiltrating underground on this planet belonging to the Mechanical Race, using the wreckage of the Cruiser’s carcass as cover.

The Insect Queen’s consciousness immediately replaced these deeply underground Insect Race units.

She would personally control these insects next.

The Insect Queen immediately directed the insects carrying Energy Crystals to devour the crystals, differentiating the basic structures of the Insect Nest on their bodies.

Another part of the Insect Race rapidly transformed by consuming energy into all the insect types required for cultivating the new Insect Nest.

The units responsible for digging started excavating underground at once.

The ones in charge of digestion followed closely, beginning to consume the excavated rocks, soil, and minerals, converting them into nutrients for all the insects providing all conditions necessary for manufacturing the Insect Nest.

In just a few tens of seconds, the framework of the Insect Nest had already appeared deep underground.

And a Larva Hatching Pool was established at the center of the framework.

Under normal circumstances, the production efficiency of the Larva Hatching Pool is only fair and cannot meet the short-term need for troop explosions.

But this time, the situation is different.

The Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy enhanced the Hatching Pool.

During the massive energy consumption, the hatching rate of the Larva Hatching Pool was nearly twenty times faster than usual.

Only a sufficient number of Insect Race can become the cornerstone of the battlefield.

Besides the Insect Queen utilizing Spiritual Energy to enhance the reproductive efficiency of the Larva Hatching Pool.

The biological structure of the Larva Hatching Pool had a softly glowing vesicle structure on the outside.

It was filled with a bright green fluid, slowly being injected into the interior of the Hatching Pool.

This fluid was something Chen Ming devised when the Insect Race unit’s hatching speed was too slow without preparation, leading to the need to deploy eggs in advance and allowing too long a growth period for the eggs during actual combat, prompting the Insect Queen to produce this new invention using its ability to create special substances.

The injection of this fluid can significantly accelerate the differentiation of Insect Race larval cells, speeding up individual growth and cultivation.

Allowing larvae to grow to a stage suitable for work or combat at the fastest speed.

Of course, the side effect is a significant reduction in the lifespan of Insect Race units.

But the lifespan of Insect Race units tends to be short, with only the Insect Queen able to survive long term, others like Worker Insects have slightly longer lifespans but typically don’t exceed a month.

Moreover, during combat, lifespan is not a concern.

The fastest production speed and highest efficiency of the Insect Race are most important.

As the Hatching Pool operated, vast numbers of larvae crawled out of the Hatching Pool under the stimulation of special substances.

Some larvae went to nearby areas just excavated by the insects to differentiate into new Larva Hatching Pools.

Other larvae were further cultivated into different functional Worker Insects by the Insect Queen, joining the labor of the previous insects.

Further utilizing underground resources to expand the Insect Nest.

As the Insect Nest expanded, the Larva Hatching Pools were increasing in number, and the number of larvae was growing exponentially.

Even though these larvae, Worker Insects, and even Hatching Pools might not survive the day.

But once grown, they are sufficient to create enough opportunities in the coming period.

The rapid expansion of the Insect Nest could not be ignored by the Mechanical Race.

However, handling the underground Insect Nest is quite troublesome.

Though many Mechanical Race buildings are equipped with devices emitting shockwaves underground to kill subterranean life forms.

But these devices apparently designed to constrain the Insect Race could not reach the extremely deep underground where the Insect Nest currently is.

The Mechanical Race also tried using some working Mechanical units to excavate the soil below the Insect Race Cruiser’s carcass.

But just clearing away the carcass took some time, and once cleared, the Mechanical Race realized the path initially dug by the insects had collapsed.

They temporarily lacked the ability to match the digging speed of the Insect Race.

Could only temporarily give up on pursuing the underground Insect Race, focusing forces on defending against attacks from space.

Besides needing to clear the underground Insect Nest, they also needed to patch the vulnerabilities in the orbital defense systems.

The vulnerabilities in orbital defense systems could only be patched by calling facilities from areas facing less pressure from other directions.

With emergency-requested facilities, the Mechanical Race barely patched some of the breaches initially opened.

To prevent the Insect Race from overcoming again and manufacturing more Insect Nests.

However, the number of Insect Race Fleet was ultimately excessively extravagant.

Wherever the Mechanical Race redirected orbital defense facilities, the Insect Race Fleet would focus their firepower, and even had spare capacity to divide forces, continuing attacks from various directions on the entire planet.

Such a large planet always has weak spots in its defense.

Chen Ming decided not to give up on the position where the Insect Queen initially entered the planet, opting to engage the Mechanical Race’s fiercest firepower head-on, executing a frontal assault.

Because here is the core colony of the Mechanical Race on this planet.
