Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

At this time, the Insect Hive Planet was still intact, completely covered by gray-green biomass.

When Bai Quan first looked at the photo, he was puzzled, thinking the planet itself was gray-green.

Only when he zoomed in to high resolution did he realize that the planet was covered by a layer of gray-green material.

The gray-green substance covering the entire planet should be derivatives of the Thorn Insect Race.

Bai Quan also realized the problem and confirmed: ”This much?”

”Yes, the insect nests are spread across the entire planet. You could say this planet is done for.”

”The coordinates?”

Chen Ming sent the coordinates over, and the distance to the Empire was not far.

”This location... so close...”

Bai Quan didn’t say it explicitly, but Chen Ming understood the implication and responded: ”Would you believe if I said I hadn’t noticed it before?”

”I’ll pretend to believe you, but others definitely won’t.”

”Then let’s see if anyone else asks me, though I doubt anyone would dare confront me directly.”

”True.”

Bai Quan did not delve into why Chen Ming had discovered the Insect Hive Planet earlier but hadn’t mentioned it, yet brought it up now.

He also did not explore when the planet was completely covered by the Insect Race.

Anyway, Chen Ming would surely tell him what needed to be said.

He was now more concerned about the other two things Chen Ming mentioned: ”What about the second thing?”

Chen Ming replied: ”The second thing is that the Mechanical Race is hunting me. They seem to have made me their main recent target, dispersing a bunch of fleets to dismantle my resource extraction outposts.”

”Oh, so that’s why you were so concerned about the situation on the front line earlier, to see what the Mechanical Race was up to? They didn’t resist on the front line and turned to hunt you instead.”

”Yes.”

Chen Ming nodded: ”The Mechanical Race is willing to forego the front line just to find me, which is giving me a headache. I’ve lost a bunch of outposts, and I’ll have to procure more supplies from within the Empire.”

”You want me to help you find more sources, right? Sure, no problem. What’s the third thing?”

”This one is interesting.”

Chen Ming said: ”The Mechanical Race allocated a large fleet to find my outposts, with tens of thousands of ships including destroyers and guards scattered across an area over a thousand light-years wide.”

”The Mechanical Race must have provoked the Insect Race, right? What happened then?”

Bai Quan had already guessed what Chen Ming was going to say based on the first two things.

Ever since An Wuping joined the Audan Star Realm, news of the new developments of the Thorn Insect Race and their biological battleships had already spread.

Bai Quan had, of course, heard about this news.

So he figured there must have been a conflict between the Mechanical Race and the Insect Race.

Chen Ming didn’t hold back and sent a few photos over.

”Then, of course, the insects came out in full force and clashed with the Mechanical Race in that area.”

”I observed a massive battle erupting over a large area.”

”The Thorn Insect Race seems to have a way of tracking the Mechanical Race, locating nearly all the problematic Mechanical Race, determined to wipe them out regardless of the cost.”

”Look at my data here. The warp fluctuations almost covered such a large region, the scene was really...”

Chen Ming paused, giving Bai Quan time to look at the intelligence and process it.

As Bai Quan reviewed it, he said: ”I recall our research on the Mechanical Race indicating that there’s a record of them not getting along with the Thorn Insect Race, so a fight is quite normal.”

And what Chen Ming wanted was for everyone to have the same thinking as Bai Quan right now.

He then provided Bai Quan with a few more photos and continued: ”Later, the Mechanical Race seems to have lured the Insect Race to their border, using the main ships to destroy the Insect Race’s fleet, but the Mechanical Race also had a planet destroyed.”

The photos Chen Ming sent to Bai Quan were taken from a very long distance.

You could see three mother ships of the Mechanical Race orbiting a planet that had already collapsed, with debris and wreckage both inside and outside the orbit.

At a glance, it was impossible to count the number of ship wrecks, enough to see the immense scale and brutality of this battle.

”This scale...”

In Bai Quan’s mind, a picture quickly formed of the lines of both sides before the battle erupted.

He found it hard to imagine how it escalated to such an extent.

Chen Ming didn’t give Bai Quan much time to ponder, sending him another photo and saying: ”Take a look at this.”

This photo sent by Chen Ming also showed a gray-green planet, but it looked obviously different from the previous one, not only much smaller in size but with visible terrain undulations from space.

”This is what that Insect Hive Planet looks like now.”

”The missing parts have all turned into biological battleships of the Insect Race. They fought to the death with the Mechanical Race.”

”I estimate that there should also be fleets stationed near the front lines; they should observe it too. Information might return in a few days, but my side is efficient, so I’m letting you know first.”

”I’m concerned those insects might make further moves; we should warn the front line.”

”This information can be shared out, no problem.”

”Alright, got it.”

Bai Quan understood what Chen Ming meant.

With such losses for the Thorn Insect Race, the Mechanical Race’s losses would at least be on a similar scale.
