Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

The prerequisite is that the Forbidden Guard Insect Race must be large enough in size.

Using the Titan Insect as a template, change the shape of the original forelimbs of the Titan Insect, forming them into shield-like structures by gathering a large amount of keratin.

Further thicken the front carapace, sacrificing mobility for absolute frontal defensive strength.

In combat, rely purely on mass and brute force shield strikes to inflict damage on the enemy.

To defend against the Mechanical Race’s regular ground units, the defensive strength of these Forbidden Guard Insect Race should be enough to withstand a direct frontal shot from a centipede’s Charge Cannon.

This is fairly solvable.

If defense is insufficient, supplement with Spiritual Energy.

The effect of the Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy is now sufficient to allow many Insect Race creatures to withstand many attacks from the Mechanical Race when specifically enhancing their own carapace defense.

Therefore, just a slight improvement on the Titan Insect is needed on this basis.

Slightly adjust the size and proportions to transform the charging Insect Race into a defensive holding Insect Race.

Just ensure the most basic mobility isn’t compromised to prevent being easily overrun by flexible Mechanical Race units.

Improve anti-air capabilities slightly, and it should be adequate to protect Insect Race units from the Mechanical Race’s regular ground units as they are transported underground.

All these requirements, if put bluntly, could have been figured out by Chen Ming with a bit of research prior.

As long as he proposes the concept, the Insect Queen will surely help him realize it.

The real trouble for Chen Ming starting to engage the Forbidden Guard now evidently lies in the Mechanical Race’s Spiritual Energy units and orbital defense facilities.

Once the Insect Race fleet breaches a planet’s space defense line and enters the planet, these two become the biggest obstacles.

Without enough external support forces,

neither Spiritual Energy Mechanical Race units nor orbital defense facilities are problems most Insect Race units can solve.

Unless they thoroughly overwhelm the enemy with numbers.

Just like the battle that just erupted.

The Mechanical Race failed to deploy the Demon King in time to clear the Insect Race as they were gaining a foothold on the planet, allowing the Insect Race’s development, which overwhelmed the Demon King with sheer numbers.

If the Demon King had arrived when the Insect Race first landed, the situation wouldn’t have gone so smoothly.

Next time, Chen Ming can be 100% certain that the Mechanical Race will position at least three Demon Kings at the Insect Race’s landing site.

So, individuals like the Demon King, which are Spiritual Energy Mechanical Race entities, are problems that must be addressed for future Insect Race invasions.

If it were space warfare, the Purgatory Demon King would be manageable, but on the ground, relying solely on physical strength from ground Insect Race units makes it difficult to break through the Purgatory Core’s Spiritual Strength.

And this requires the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve.

The Black Mist Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve that Chen Ming recently obtained, with its comprehensive Black Mist Spiritual Energy, offers a unified existence combining displacement, protection, attack, and more.

It can solve most issues whether facing other Spiritual Energy mechanisms or orbital defense facilities.

Though the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve is inherently weaker than the original Enlightenment Nerve before conversion, for the Forbidden Guard Insect Race, they don’t need victory; they just need to buy time.

Once the insects burrow underground, their mission is complete.

Moreover, since Chen Ming only recently acquired the Black Mist Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve, further adjustments are certainly needed.

If strength is truly lacking, Chen Ming can extract a bit more Spiritual Energy Essence from the Black Mist Core.

There’s no way it can’t hold the line.

Though prolonged confrontations with the Mechanical Race might not be feasible.

The Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve inherently has a limit, and it’s merely a method used by the Shimmering Civilization to handle Spiritual Energy Essence, an associated by-product.

It can’t compare with the Purgatory Core held by the Mechanical Race.

But simply ensuring the intensity of abilities from the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve to hold off orbital defense facility attacks for a while isn’t too difficult.

Next, Chen Ming just needs to develop the prototype of the Forbidden Guard Insect Race and implant the Enlightenment Nerve into the newly minted Forbidden Guard Insect Race units to complete their cultivation... probably...

In reality, this might not suffice due to another crucial issue at present.

How to teach Insect Race units to use the Black Mist Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve?

Mechanical Race’s Mechanical Spiritual Energy creatures install the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve beforehand and assimilate it thoroughly through the biological to mechanical conversion process.

Thus, upon completion of the conversion, through coordination by nanorobots, the Mechanical Spiritual Energy creatures master the usage of those Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve capabilities.

But for the Insect Race, being fully converted to mechanical is akin to being rendered useless.

Ordinary Insect Race with a mechanical appearance that grasp weak Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve Spiritual Power, yet lose the Insect Queen’s power, can’t use them in tandem, they’d be better off sticking to Insect Race abilities.

Thus, this is also an issue to be resolved.

This issue, with the emergence of something akin to Sample Zero, a half-mechanical, half-biological individual merging the strengths of both, presents a solution.

By halving the conversion process, allowing portions of the Insect Race individual to gain the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve ability while retaining the majority of Insect Race abilities, the problem of simultaneously using the abilities of both can be resolved.
