Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chen Ming never expected the Mechanical Race to use what appears to be their strongest Main Level weapon here, against his Insect Race.

Moreover, he had not sensed any obvious Spiritual Energy Fluctuation, nor seen the presence of any other Mother Ships.

And the weapons on the Mother Ship that had arrived post-maintenance showed no sign of change, not employing the Destruction.

The real Destruction was not on the front battlefield.

This leaves only one possibility.

That the Mother Ship equipped with the Destruction is currently in Phase Space.

The nature of Phase Space interferes with Spiritual Energy Fluctuation, disrupts the transmission of light, and also affects the ships’ Radiant Energy System.

But it does not interfere with warp fluctuation.

In normal circumstances, a warp conducted in Phase Space is perceptible in the normal universe.

The Mechanical Race used a clever method, masking the warp fluctuation of the Destruction Carrier in Phase Space with the warp fluctuation of a large number of ships.

Using the overt fleet to hide the Destruction within Phase Space, delivering it here.

Chen Ming indeed did not foresee that the Mechanical Race could send Mother Ships into Phase Space, and even utilized this capability for a surprise attack against his Insect Race.

He has not given special attention to this region’s Phase Space.

At least recently, he hasn’t focused much on the Phase Space where the Insect Race Fleet is gathered now.

Ultimately leading to him completely missing it, resulting in the Insect Race fleet being instantly heavily damaged.

However, this surprise attack method can only be used once.

With this experience, Chen Ming will surely deploy a Phase Ship with any of his fleet actions in the future, or install some sort of early warning device present in Phase Space, never giving an opportunity for another ambush.

And as soon as Chen Ming shares the news of this surprise attack from the Mechanical Race, the Empire will definitely be on high alert.

In the future, the Destruction cannot easily be delivered anywhere without being noticed.

The one perfect surprise attack opportunity has been used by the Mechanical Race against Chen Ming here.

So now Chen Ming somewhat does not understand why the Mechanical Race used this opportunity for a surprise attack against his Insect Race.

Would the Mechanical Race rather sacrifice the chance for greater victories against the Empire later than focus on his Insect Race now?

Apparently, it makes sense.

Upon careful thought, Chen Ming realizes his Insect Race Fleet is currently attacking the Mechanical Race’s most vital logistics Star System.

If the logistics Star System collapses, the frontline doesn’t even need to fight, and if he puts himself in the Mechanical Race’s position, he would surely act swiftly to crush logistical troubles thoroughly, minimizing losses.

If they had only dispatched other Mother Ships, it might have left a window for Chen Ming, but sending the Destruction, even choosing a surprise attack to enter the battle, almost guarantees no problems for the other logistics Star Systems.

It’s also an acceptable outcome.

Given this, Chen Ming feels the Insect Race Fleet has no option but withdrawal, as the Mechanical Race will never spare any Insect.

There’s nothing else to say, the Insect Race remains fearless of death, and Chen Ming is unafraid to exchange war losses. Those Cruiser Fleets covering the arrival of the Destruction Carrier would surely suffer painful blows from the Insect Race.

Chen Ming immediately ordered the Insect Race Fleet to disperse to avoid continued impact from the range attack effect of the Destructive Spiritual Energy.

All Insect Race Cruisers will no longer engage in any self-preservation actions; their next task is just to fight desperately.

Bright green acid plasma cannons and the light beams of Insect Race’s biological Speed Particle Spears flicker on the battlefield.

However, the effect this time is not apparent.

Not only were Insect Race warships themselves being obliterated, all the Insect Race’s means of attack were disintegrating when approaching the Mechanical Race fleet.

The Destruction not only can remotely release Destructive Spiritual Energy, but it can also construct a Destruction line of defense near the fleet.

Moreover, the Insect Race fleet, especially before Main Ships like the Destruction Carrier, is just too fragile.

Without Main Level protective capability, they are easily destroyed.

The previous Insect Race fleet was also around this size, managing to battle against the Mechanical Race’s three Mother Ships for over an hour before being completely exterminated.

But against the Destruction...

The Destruction’s attack lacks brightness, impact, or forewarning, possessing only the silent infiltration of Spiritual Energy Fluctuation hidden within Phase Space.

It’s impossible to counter.

Just in the initial encounter, nearly half of the Insect Race Cruisers vanished into the universe.

And in the final firefight, the remaining Insect Race fleet only held on for a few minutes before totally losing combat capability, resulting in over a hundred thousand Cruisers only taking down over a thousand Mechanical Race Cruisers.

This was still due to the Mechanical Race proactively dispatching Cruisers to intercept the remnants of those escaping Destructive Spiritual Energy, hoping to prevent any contact between the Destruction and the Insect Race Fleet.

The Destruction came out of this battle unscathed, as no attack method could breach the Destruction’s defense line.

The Insect Race Fleet, during the resistance, was utterly annihilated.

Immediately following, everywhere the Insect Race Fleet had been, experienced the Destructive Spiritual Energy’s sweep, from the large Insect Race shipwreck down to micro-invisible cells were completely erased by the Destruction.
