Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Want to try again?

Chen Ming considered briefly and decided to abandon the idea.

The power of that enormous Phase Giant Beast was beyond his current ability to contend with.

He felt that unless he deployed the Insect Race fleet to try, relying on the ships under his control alone wouldn’t suffice.

If he kept attempting to enter again, it might possibly affect the original plans of the small Phase Giant Beast with which he had contact.

It had already twice snatched away scarlet flesh chunks from the Phase Giant Beast that Chen Ming was powerless against... perhaps it could do so again.

It’s just that the current situation made him very curious about one thing.

How did the small Phase Giant Beast manage to get inside?

Is it because Phase Giant Beasts are born with control over phase power?

Chen Ming did not understand.

He could only wait and see.

If the small Phase Giant Beast hasn’t returned in the next two days, he would try again.

Chen Ming recorded the coordinates of where the small Phase Giant Beast went.

Meanwhile, he dispatched several ships to the decadent Mechanical Race Star Realm to investigate the reason for the star system’s decay.

The place where the small Phase Giant Beast went was inaccessible to Chen Ming, but its previous location remained unaffected, so he could start investigating from there.

After completing the investigation, he planned to drop some insect eggs over there, possibly establishing it as a base in the Mechanical Race Star Realm.

Chen Ming’s ships immediately began a planet-by-planet investigation.

Soon, he confirmed that all the damaged Mechanical Race structures within the star system, all Mechanical Race colonies, were destroyed by brute force.

It was basically certain that the whole star system was destroyed by the Phase Giant Beast, and judging by the ruins, it seemed to be the work of that gigantic Phase Giant Beast.

After conducting adequate scans in space, Chen Ming had a ship land on a planet within the star system, aiming to land amidst the ruins.

However, just as the ship landed, touching the ground and before it could come to a complete halt, the ground started sinking significantly, causing several ruins to collapse again, with dust covering a vast area.

Chen Ming promptly ordered the ship to suspend, gazing at the ground beneath the ship.

The underground structure of the ruins seemed extremely loose.

Chen Ming somewhat perplexed, ordered an immediate scan, soon uncovering something incredibly shocking.

The underground beneath these ruins wasn’t filled with damaged mechanical structures and rocks, but entirely with shriveled flesh remnants.

All were products of dimension infection.

When conducting remote scans from space, these twisted entities hidden beneath the ruins couldn’t be observed; only upon close proximity were they detectable.

Chen Ming promptly ordered all ships within the star system to conduct close-range scans on nearby planets.

The results were consistent.

On other planets, traces of similar shriveled flesh remnants were found.

This might be the initial site of dimension infection created by the Mechanical Race.

Yet, Chen Ming couldn’t understand how dimension infection could thrive on the Mechanical Race’s turf.

The sole plausible existence providing scarlet dimension with flesh for propagation might only be the Phase Giant Beast.

Could the crimson dimension infection appearing in the Mechanical Race’s star system be related to the Phase Giant Beast?

Phase Space, Phase Giant Beast, dimension infection, Destruction, all seemed interconnected within this star system.

But apart from these shriveled flesh remnants on the planets in the entire star system, Chen Ming found nothing else; no clues for further research.

He couldn’t make precise judgments now.

He needed more information.

And information could only be obtained later from the Phase Giant Beast, or from the Mechanical Race’s database.

For now, he couldn’t continue investigating.

Two days quickly passed.

Bai Quan had already set off for the Galor Star Realm’s frontline.

And Chen Ming followed Bai Quan to the frontline too, leaving only robots at the base.

In the two days before departing.

After arranging the subsequent tasks for most matters needing his action at the base.

Ensuring the robots could continue participating in several new projects he joined afterward.

Moreover, he took advantage of these two days to organize affairs at other locations, such as the Pioneer Fleet matters that had been advancing on the main body side for several days.

Chen Ming’s Pioneer Fleet itself stationed at the third and fourth maximum distance jump positions.

Due to the Mechanical Race’s relations, they moved directly toward Chen Ming’s initially planned target star system by three maximum distance jumps, reaching the position seven maximum distance jumps away.

This decision appeared very wise now.

Because just as Chen Ming launched an Insect Race Fleet attack on the Mechanical Race

The surveillance facilities placed near the original position of the Pioneer Fleet discovered the Mechanical Race fleet had been searching around, merely resulting in a miss.

Had Chen Ming not retreated, he believed the Mechanical Race’s Destruction would have confronted him already.

Currently, Chen Ming has also directed the Pioneer Fleet to locate a new suitable planet for stationing and begin exploring surrounding star realms, searching for resource extraction sites.

Simultaneously starting the application of new technology.

Of course, what’s referred to as technology is essentially involving the Insect Race in the pioneering plan.
