Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

The Forbidden Guard Insect Race is an idea Chen Ming had long conceived.

Only after today, it became a truly necessary idea for him.

Because during this surprise attack against the Mechanical Race Star System, Chen Ming identified many issues.

Especially with the problems during ground operations.

Those insects that invaded the Mechanical Race Planet and established an Insect Nest relied on space warships to penetrate the planet.

Once they reached the ground, they had to rely on ordinary Insect Race units carried by warships and the corpses of Insect Race Cruisers as cover, lacking self-defense capabilities.

Essentially, they could only depend on themselves, with the constant risk of being completely wiped out before delving underground.

If the Mechanical Race hadn’t seemingly lacked experience in dealing with this situation, allowing the Insect Race to slip into the deep underground, this assault wouldn’t have gone so smoothly.

Next time, the Mechanical Race will definitely not give the Insect Race such an opportunity. If any Insect Race reaches the ground, the Mechanical Race will undoubtedly go all out to destroy them by any means.

Not to mention, even if the Insect Race units have formed an Insect Nest, they might be solved by the Mechanical Race’s formidable ground combat units, such as the Demon King.

Therefore.

Chen Ming believes that when deploying the Insect Race on the Mechanical Race’s planets, there needs to be powerful combat units to provide security for those constructing the Insect Nests.

This isn’t merely about deploying some Insect Race units in the invasion, but about thoroughly establishing absolute defense.

Coincidentally, his previous idea of manufacturing a powerful Forbidden Guard for the Insect Race came to mind.

The original intention was to protect the Insect Queen, but it could be used to guard those Insect Race performing critical tasks.

It’s not that the Forbidden Guard has to protect the Insect Queen; a small number of highly powerful Insect Race can accomplish much more.

Moreover, the Insect Queen has Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy as a safeguard, ensuring it won’t encounter danger.

For the Insect Queen, the Forbidden Guard inherently lacks existential value.

But for the entire Insect Race, the Forbidden Guard does hold value.

The Forbidden Guard envisioned by Chen Ming wouldn’t be abundant.

They won’t arrive with the Insect Race’s invasive fleet but will be simultaneously deployed using his Spiritual Energy when the units creating the Insect Nest reach enemy territory.

Entering the atmosphere is the task of the Insect Race ships, whereas protecting the Insect Race from being destroyed by the Mechanical Race upon landing is the task of the Forbidden Guard Insect Race.

Therefore, Chen Ming has high standards for the Forbidden Guard Insect Race, needing to be worth deploying with unique Spiritual Energy.

Chen Ming somewhat conceptualizes the Forbidden Guard units.

Certainly, not like the Insect Race similar to An Wuping.

Although manufacturing combat units imitating An Wuping can be considered the individual with the highest combat power within the entire Insect Race, it also has drawbacks.

The Chaos Core within An Wuping that provides comprehensive capabilities can’t be replicated on ordinary Insect Race units.

Moreover, the strength of the individually imitated An Wuping Insect Race lies only in combat power, virtually having no protection capabilities.

Clearly, it’s inadequate as a Forbidden Guard.

The Forbidden Guard envisioned by Chen Ming must have formidable combat power and protective abilities, sufficient to persist in the enemy’s main base until other Insect Race hide underground.

Hence, the Forbidden Guard Insect Race can forego comprehensive combat power and mobility, purely focusing on development in protection.

However, no Insect Race unit currently meets such conditions.

Even the Titan Insect, considered the strongest in protection for frontline ground battles, is the same.

It relies on charging, crushing, destroying the enemy with brute force, and passively absorbing all damage due to its size, indirectly protecting other Insect Race.

On battlefields involving mutual aggression, it works, but during invasions where temporary protection tasks are needed at certain locations, its ability is insufficient.

It’s truly difficult for the fearless, low-battle-capacity Worker Insect to fight fiercely at critical moments like any other insect, without concern for losses, to protect anything.

Mere fearlessness on the battlefield is not enough.

Invasion inherently limits the number of Insect Race that can be sent to enemy territory, mindlessly fighting without strategy wastes opportunities, providing the enemy time to prepare.

There must be entities with enough combat power to protect those weak yet immensely important insects, allowing the Insect Nest to be constructed underground to internally destroy enemy planets.

The Insect Race inherently lacks protection capabilities; previously, Chen Ming even struggled to imagine what kind of Insect Race could meet his needs.

However, in conjunction with the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve, the Forbidden Guard now has suitable manufacturing conditions.

And Chen Ming’s idea to further intensify assaults on the Mechanical Race Star Realm provides the Forbidden Guard with abundant usage environments.

The dangers faced by the Insect Race when attacking the Mechanical Race’s planets and deploying Insect Race to construct Insect Nests truly boil down to three.

Siege by ordinary units of the Mechanical Race, targeting by spiritual energy units of the Mechanical Race, and attacks from orbital defense facilities.

Ground units can rely on the Insect Race’s inherent ability to block,

primarily for protection, with killing the enemy as a secondary goal.
